Blue Waters is a paradise... the hotel sits on a tropical hill and fills it's own bay, so the location is beautiful. Everything about the place is understated quality, and the layout really works. The beaches and pools are plentiful and lovely, and there was lots of availability everywhere. As you sit on the beach admiring the clear blue water, pelicans are diving to catch fish. 5 minutes with lovely Owen on the hotel speedboat gets you out onto the reef for snorkelling, the full 1/2 day round the coast was brilliant fun.
There are 3 restaurants, but only 2 max are open at any time. The food is very good although the menus would improve if they were rotated more often. But even so we never got bored in 10 days, and we only had meals we really enjoyed.
Without being super-luxurious or huge, the rooms have everything you would expect and are very comfortable indeed. The way they are kept in terms of updating towels, etc is great.
The staff are REALLY friendly; they are a joy. We went to get married, so a special shout-out for Mandie, the Blue Waters wedding co-ordinator; she is a great personality and awesome by really taking charge of (a) getting all the required paperwork together and authorised in advance; (b) the logistics; and (c) making the day even more special than you had hoped, just by being there! We could not have conceived of a more beautiful romantic place to get married than the the Blue Waters gazebo.
In summary, Blue Waters is a really perfect paradise. It's not flash, it's just an understated beautiful place that we would go back to as often as possible. The place and the people made our wedding so special.
