I am late in posting my review as I wanted to wait until people were starting to think about travelling again.

First off I will say that if you like the big all inclusive resorts then this isn't the place for you, however, if you like something smaller, cosier and that bit different it is certainly worth considering. It isn't right on the beach but does have a small pool and the beach, bars and restaurants are just a short walk, alternatively taxis are relatively inexpensive if you want to go further afield,

It must be said that this was one of the strangest holidays we have ever had, when we left London there wasn't even a pandemic but before we got home the UK had gone into lockdown and people were advised to get home before the flights stopped.

Anyway, we stayed at the Villas At Sunset Lane in March 2020 (I couldn't get this into the date of travel box so just put May as the earliest date I could use), Because everywhere was closing the tourists on the island were preparing to leave with of course no new ones coming in and because of this my husband and I were the only guests booked in that week, I must admit that this was rather lovely as we had the place to ourselves it was rather like having a house and private chef than being booked into a hotel. The food was excellent we and enjoyed the local dishes freshly prepared by Jacqueline, the owner/chef. I came home armed with some of her recipes although I much prefer eating them in the Villas lovely dining room or on the terrace while looking out at the sea.

Our stay was initially one night before we flew to the BVI for a sailing holiday, then we stayed for another week before flying home. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean the only downside was that we didn't have a balcony or terrace although we noticed that other rooms did so if you like some private outside space it might be worth booking one of those rooms but there is a pretty little pool area and a large terrace so there is plenty of places to enjoy the sunshine or to sit and have a drink.

Many of the bars and restaurants had already closed so we were lucky to have such a good chef we both enjoyed the food prepared by Jacqueline who made such an effort to give us different dishes everyday. Breakfast was also a treat as we were served freshly prepared breads or baked goods warm from the oven.

From the little we saw of Antigua (all tourists attractions had closed) it looked a beautiful island with friendly welcoming people, I hope we get the chance to visit again before too long but in the meantime I wish Jacqueline all the very best and send her a big thank you for making us so welcome and taking such good care of us.

I’m terrible about writing reviews but let me just say there is a reason I am writing this one. I visited this hotel back in late August/early September with my boyfriend during COVID for 15 nights and we had the absolute best experience! Jackie is the owner of the hotel and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She goes out of her way to cater to your every need. My boyfriend had a rash on his legs and she applied fresh aloe on them daily to help heal them. She fed us every morning and is the best cook!! She recommends you places to visit and will even give you a ride if she has the time for it. This hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to Dickinson bay and we went there constantly! The water is gorgeous and the restaurants were absolutely amazing (fish tacos and ahi tuna at Salt Plage are a MUST). There is a floating bar on the water called Kon Tiki that was one of our favorite things to do. You can enjoy a rum punch then jump right into the water and swim. So much fun!

I recommend renting a car for a few days to explore the island because there is 365 beaches to see. I believe we saw about 10 of those. And yes they are all different from one another. Long bay was one of my favorites.

The COVID guidelines were all put in place (wear a mask, social distance, etc.) but does not stop you from having a good time!

I really hope this review helps you in deciding to stay at this wonderful boutique hotel. Me and my boyfriend want to stay in Antigua forever because it was such a great experience and so beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay with Jacquie and her team at the villas at sunset lane. The rooms and bathrooms were large, well equipped with comfy beds and efficient a/c and ceiling fan. Jacquie is an amazing host and an excellent cook. Continental breakfasts were lovely but we did treat ourselves to omelettes for breakfast a couple of times and they were amazing. We also ate dinner at the villas in two occasions and they were very tasty. We certainly didn't go hungry. The villas are very clean and the staff team are friendly and helpful. Pool is lovely and also kept extremely clean. Jacquie is a perfect host who helped with sorting out the puncture we got on our hire car plus made dinner reservations and excursion reservations. The area is quiet but is 10 mins walk from the beach and a short drive into St Johns. Best rum punch on the island!!! I would definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The room was extremely clean and spacious. Very nice bathroom as well. Jackie, the owner, was very kind and accommodating in helping us with taxis, restaurants and beach recommendations! It's really only a 10 minute walk to the beach b/c there's a pretty little shortcut down to the main road. (Google says it's more). Breakfast was simple and pleasant with a nice view and a lovely balcony. She will make you dinner upon request and we heard from all that she's a great cook. We went out to eat b/c with COVID, we'd barely dined out and were ready for some people watching! The pool was also clean and nice. Also, she has beach towels. And if you need a beach umbrella there are several places on the beach where you can rent them.

I booked this hotel for my wife who was battling her way back to Jamaica having spent 2 weeks locked down in the uk. Although she was only there for one night waiting for a connection back to Kingston, her delight at staying at sunset made me want to fly out and join her. I was a bit apprehensive booking her in the ‘Pink Palace’ as it’s not her colour of choice but in reality she was so impressed. Well appointed rooms and facilities, good location close to a beautiful looking beaches. The main reason for writing is the owner Jackie made my wife feel so comfortable, very accommodating and charming. A big heartfelt thank you to her on behalf of my wife Marcia who never writes reviews, so I’m doing it. Once this dreadful Covid rubbish is over we will be making a trip to Sunset and urge would be travellers to Antigua to support hoteliers like Jackie who are working so hard. Thank you.

After our flight was cancelled at 1 in the morning the group I was traveling with (11 of us) were left stranded.
Still trying to find a hotel at 4am we finally came across this place, we got through to the owner Jackie who kindly took us all in.

We arrived 4.30am Jackie was making up extra beds for us and could not have been more accommodating.

When we woke up we had all missed breakfast but Jackie insisted that we were all getting a cooked breakfast.

The place has stunning views, very clean and the staff are extremely friendly and caring.

Jackie is one of the nicest humans I have ever met. There is not many people in the world that have a huge heart like her and you can tell that looking after people is her passion.

I highly recommend to stay here, we wish we found it sooner so we could if stayed there for our whole trip.

Many Thanks
Greg

What an absolute gem of a place!! My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights, prior to embarking on a cruise, and it was amazing here. The room was huge, spacious and spotlessly clean, with everything we could possibly need, with a stunning view of the sea. Jackie was a fantastic host and a brilliant chef too!! - we had jerk chicken with coconut rice and fried plantain one evening, and it was delicious. If you get the chance to eat there, then definitely choose something from her menu, you won't be disappointed. The breakfast was lovely too, with included freshly prepared fruit, toast and homemade marmalade, but with the option of eggs or omelettes if required. The setting was peaceful with lovely views over Dickenson Bay, and the lovely beach was only a 10 minute walk away via a short cut through the property. Jackie was very helpful, organising taxis for us to take us to the ship, contacted out tour company when the guide was a little late, and even drove us to the beach one day to show us where it was and the route to take back. Nothing was a problem, and we felt safe and well looked after. The other staff there were lovely too, very charming, friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jackie and her resort to everyone. Thank you Jackie for a memorable stay in Antigua, we loved every second of our stay there.

The stay at this small hotel was perfect. Jackie the owner is so kind and is also a wonderful cook, who presents local cuisine cooked from fresh local ingredients. The room we had was very large and clean with the most comfortable bed and sheets with a very high thread count. There is air-conditioning, a smart tv and wifi connection. The beautiful Dickenson Bay beach is 10 mins walk from the hotel. We would recommend this trip to Antigua and stay at the Villas at Sunset Lane.

It has been an absolute pleasure to stay at The Villas at Sunset Lane. The pictures don't capture how beautiful the really property is. If you don't like a resort setting, noise and drunkeness, this is the perfect home away from home. Jackie is the perfect host and very friendly. We immediately connected. I loved our big sister conversations. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The Villas are a 10 minute walk from the beach, bars and restaurants. Although I traveled solo, I felt extremely safe walking in the neighborhood, day or night. I would definitely retun again. This is my go to spot in St. John's, Antigua.

My wife and I flew down for our honeymoon the day after getting married and could not have been happier with our time there. The owner, Jackie, was one of the nicest and most genuine people you'll ever meet. She made us breakfast every morning, helped us navigate the island, and went out of her way to do so many little things to make our trip incredible. The room we stayed in overlooked the pool and all the amenities were exactly like advertised, so no bad surprises. We ventured off the property every day and felt very safe the entire time. We definitely want to see more of the world, but if we ever make it back to Antigua this will be the first place we look at.

I visited Antigua in September which is the low season, so I did not see any children on the premises. But, my room had a King size bed which would accommodate a two year old plus both parents.
