This was our 4th or 5th trip to Curtain Bluff. It continues to set the standard by which we judge other vacation destinations. We still try other hotels in the Caribbean but have yet to find one that we enjoy as much. We recently tried Keyonna, and it was really nice (and less expensive), but it was not in the same class as Curtain Bluff. This is the second time that my wife booked us for the following year at Curtain Bluff while we were still at the hotel.
The food and beach are exceptional, as are the staff. We again stayed in the Grace Bay suite, which was fantastic. It is huge and very private. The Ground Floor Jr. Suites are also very nice, with access right to the beach, but they are just not as great as the Grace Bay Suite.
They just installed a new infinity pool, with a terrific view of the ocean. It is nice to have an additional destination after sitting on the beach all day.
My only suggestions to the hotel would be more included selections of red wine at the bars (cabernet or Malbec) and an additional scuba trip in the afternoon.

Room tip: You will get a great chair at the beach no matter what time you get there

My husband and I went to Curtain Bluff for the first time last February. We had a beautiful room with a private plunge pool. Service was wonderful, food was fabulous. We enjoyed our stay. I would have given it an excellent review except for the fact that when we checked out we had an added $366.24 on our bill for an additional ABST TAX. This was a surprise to us. This should not happen. This is cause for us NOT to return to Curtain Bluff. Is this not how guests should be treated. We were not notified in advance that there was an increase in taxes. We made our reservation well in advance and paid a very hefty payment to enjoy this resort. We received a very pool explanation at the front desk when checking out. SAD.

Room tip: Watch out for additional charges.

Honeymooned at CB in 1974, returned for 50th Anniversary. A wonderful experience!
A rare occurrence when a hotel/business survives 50+ years and continues to improve, but maintains its “vibe”.

We have just finished our first visit to Curtain Bluff. I chose it because they offer two snorkeling trips each day, and I love to snorkel. After reading all the Trip Advisor reviews, it was clear this hotel is one of the best on the island. We were not disappointed in anything. I loved the fact that our room faced the beach with waves- it’s nice to fall asleep listening to that. The calmer beach is beautiful, plenty of shade, a huge array of water activities , with a great staff eager to help you. I snorkeled at Cades Reef, 5 minutes away. The two staff members get in the water with you, and are very safety conscious. I wanted to see a turtle, and they went out of their way to make sure I did. We took out one of the five hobie cats several times, I paddle boarded, and also very much enjoyed lying in the water on one of the very comfortable floats available. A very cheerful young man came by my beach chair frequently to offer drinks. We thought the food was excellent, and we had a variety of food that included beef tenderloin, rack of lamb, shrimp, and several kinds of fresh fish- cooked to perfection. Fabulous desserts, a good variety. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, upbeat. And….to be met at the airport, ushered to the head of the customs line…what a nice way to start a vacation!

Room tip: Both restaurants are good, but it’s nice to have a variety- but you need to book Seagrape early - it is fairly small
