Cocobay Resort is celebrated for its idyllic setting and charming atmosphere, with guests frequently lauding the tranquil vibe, picturesque views, and pristine beaches. While the rooms are deemed comfortable and offer beautiful vistas, a few visitors suggest they may benefit from modernization. The staff's friendliness and professionalism are consistently highlighted, contributing to a memorable stay. Opinions on value diverge; some endorse splurging on premium suites, but others find the dining options lackluster. Amenities, particularly the private pools and beach access, receive high marks, though there's room for enhancement.

The most beautiful experience! What a treat! The staff is very attentive, the food is amazing. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it was all delicious. The private rooms are beautifully appointed and the views are breathtaking. We are coming back next year because we can’t get enough!

We have just returned to cocobay, having stayed at the hotel many times we must say that the customer care and attention to detail just gets better and better!

Nothing is too much trouble with the Manager, O'Neal, going out of his way to speak to guests on a one to one basis, regularly checking that they are enjoying their stay and asking if any more can be done to improve their experience. He is genuinely charming and a good listener.

The team were also very good. Carl the resturant and bar Manager was very accomodating and kind, actively listening to any comments or feedback, open to discuss his own personal views, building friendships.
The team were as good as ever with a few new faces, Shemise was attentive at the bar, whilst Cheryl(veron), kerry, Sonia, Vincia, Keva, Saskia, Kathleen, Denise, Germaine, Antonette, Onika, Blondin,Davern, Sadie and Hugh, amoungst others are all worth mentioning for their genuine kindness and hospitality. Also the team in the kitchen too, who clearly work very hard in tough conditions.

There were a few good changes to the resort since the last time we visited with a new, well equipped gym being added and a pop up pizza restaurant on a friday night. Also at lunchtimes, besides the normal good choices available, including freshly cooked fish, there is a chef special menu which has some delicious alternatives and is very inventive.
The rooms have lovely new blackout curtains in addition to nets which are great if you are fancying a lie in!
Of course the gardens are beautiful the scenery is stunning, and the food is outstanding but it is the people who make all the difference.

All in all we had a fantastic time and will return again,
Many Thanks,

Jane & Ray.

I visited Cocobay Resort with my husband for a week. We didn't want to leave. We chose the premium waterfront pool cottage; the view was spectacular and we used the private plunge pool every day. The cottage was charming. The bed was comfortable. In the bathroom, the water pressure was good, and there are doors to the outside that when opened, let you shower with a beautiful view. I have two small complaints: the doors had large enough gaps that small bugs, including mosquitos could easily enter even with the doors closed, and the lighting in the bathroom could use improvement.

The buffet breakfast and lunch were good. The ala carte dinner was very good most nights and excellent a few nights. Portion sizes aren't the huge plates you might expect at an American chain, but there are four courses offered, including dessert, so there's more than enough to sate any appetite.

There are two nice pools, both with bars, and one beach with chairs and bar service. There's another beach with fewer people but no chairs or bar service. You can choose what you are in the mood for.

Staff members are lovely, welcoming and accommodating.

I can't recommend this resort strongly enough for a romantic couple's retreat, or just to escape the world. We will definitely return.

Was desperate to get away from 9 months of seclusion in our home; working from home, and going nowhere but the grocery store!!!! Discovered Antigua has very low numbers, and is following stringent guidelines to prevent spread. Got our COVD neg test six days in advance, and was good to go. American Air checked our paperwork states side before leaving, was a long trip through immigration where they took each person's temp and checked documentation. Made you use hand sanitizer before handing over paperwork etc. Resort also checked temp and paperwork was uploaded to them in advance. Lovely place, quaint little pastel cottages on the hillside. Food was delicious (small French style portions, but four course meal each evening, so didn't go hungry.) Different selection everyday. Breakfast and lunch wonderful too. One thing really lacking was the "bottom shelf" alcohol. No Tanguray, or Hendricks gin (or even Bombay Saphhire) No decent vodka (like Grey Goose or even Titos was sold at local grocery) No decent bourbon/whiskey (only Jim Beam, no Crown Royal, much less Woodford, Makers Mark or Bullit) Our room was "Pepper Pot" right above the water, with plunge pool. Delighted in watching hummingbirds fight over the feeder three feet from my adirondack style chair on the deck (not as steeply tipped, as some are) very comfortable. Would recommend the resort go to plastic cups in the rooms, not comfortable drinking from glasses that are probably questionably cleaned (bar area cleaned glasses very throughly) Very comfy bed, liked the mosquito netting over bed (wasn't an issue in the room as we used A/C-but you ARE in the Carribbean, bugs, geckos n stuff) You were asked to hand sanitize in front of the restaurant host before being taken to your table (no problem!) and handed a laminated menu. Felt very safe about the whole week. Was disappointed in our catamaran cruise (that will be another review) and had a wonderful driver for an island tour (will do separate review on him) Janeen at the front desk was extemely helpful lining up some excursions, and enjoyed a nice swedish massage with Topaz. Very nice servers, especially Kerry, Denise (who also hostesses) and Cherise. Just a word of warning; I am extremely vision impaired from 4 eye surgeries. LOTS OF STEPS with no handrails. Big problem for me, and would be for anyone with mobility issues. Our room was lovely, but 30 huge steps at a steeply pitched downward toward the cottage. Trecherious at night!!!

We decided to go to Antigua after our 30th Anniversary trip to Thailand and Bali had to be cancelled. When we started to look for hotels we knew for sure we did not want to book at Sandals. We have been to a Sandals before but now at our age we tend to like the smaller more boutique hotels better. We were sure glad we chose Cocobay Resort. It was the perfect hotel to just unplug from this craziness of Covid. Coming into the country we felt completely at ease knowing how strict they were with testing and exposure. When we got to the resort they were also very careful and followed the set guidelines with masks required to walk around and sanitizers in the room and around the resort. That being said, we were able to enjoy our time there and completely relaxed. No tv, means no horrible news every night!!
We spent our days at the beach and the pools and came back to our room (Mango) and spent our afternoons in our plunge pool and relaxing on our patio overlooking the ocean/bay. Mango is the second to the last cottage down near the bay so it is a walk from the restaurant, but felt very private. Our pool had sun almost all day and was the perfect temperature!
I was worried about sand fleas and mosquitos after reading some reviews, but we did not have a problem until the second to last night when the wind died down and it was humid and still. My husband got multiple bites that night at dinner. Sand fleas must have a season cause he did not get bit at all and he is usually a magnet!
We loved the food and all the choices at the resort. I felt that the chef did an amazing job with portion and presentation. We loved the Rose wine they served at lunch and dinner and soon it was our go to option.
We did the Romance package and had the floating breakfast and dinner on the beach. Both were very special and totally worth it.
The staff are awesome at the resort. They are friendly and always there to help you. Jermaine and Glendale stood out so much that I remembered their names and I never remember to take note of names.
If you are looking for a smaller more intimate resort then this is your place. Don't hesitate to stay here. You will be glad you did!

Our stay was everything we expected and so much more. The hotel property is tropical heaven, the views breathtaking, and the service outstanding. Cocobay makes sure they make you feel safe during this time by keeping everything extremely clean, hand washing and hand sanitizing areas all around the resort, and ensuring staff and guests wear masks in public areas of the resort. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. We accidentally booked our lunch basket and sushi boat to our room when we actually wanted them in the romance pool. When we got to the resort they no longer had openings and front desk Jenine made some calls and was able to create new slots for us that are not normally available. When we got to the resort we realized we forgot our tripod and the next day we cashed our drone into the ocean. We expressed how sad we were that we were unable to get pictures of use together and the next day the hotel manager O’Neil surprised us with a tripod. He went into town and literally bought us a new tripod free of charge. We have traveled all over the world and have stood in very high end resorts and no one has ever taken that type of initiative and done something so sweet and meaningful for us. We were able to get some beautiful shots of us together with the tripod. Over all the staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms very clean, and great atmosphere. The restaurant and bars were beautiful however the food was itself was not great but good for all inclusive. Still 10/10 recommend!
PS will post some pictures we were able to get with the tripod and in the romance pool that we couldn’t have gotten if it wasn’t for Janine and O’Neil!

We were fortunate to stay at the Cocobay Resort in early January for 2 wonderful weeks. The location is one of the best we have ever seen. Stunning views from all angles, including the cottages, restaurant, bar, and swimming pools. All meals are a la Carte, with a linen napkins placed in your lap by the Maitre d' who takes you to your table. This is your first hint of what is to come. The menu of the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner is then presented to you. There are always three choices and never once were we disappointed. The food is excellent and presentation is incredible. In the cottages, the beds and pillows are so comfortable, you then open the double doors onto the balcony with a view across the bay. On a Sunday (from cottage 40) we could hear the choir singing in the church across the valley whilst simultaneously watching a turtle swimming across the bay.....amazing !
The staff can't do enough for you, from Janine on reception, through to Denise and Carl in the restaurant. Louis and Altino on the main bar will anticipate your alcohol requirement from the second day with grace and professionalism, and Vinicia on the pool bar is just such a pleasure, a real sweetheart. If you fancy a sail Roxanne will take you out, and if you just want to lay on the beach she will bring you your drinks and your lunch, always with a smile.
We hope to return to Cocobay again and can't recommend it highly enough.

We travel with the same group of couples for the last 11 years throughout the Caribbean and Central America. We have been to many wonderful resorts and this one by far had the most spectacular views. Your rooms are small cabins (kept very clean) with views of the bay and the mountains that are not to be believed.

The staff members were genuinely nice people who made sure we were enjoying ourselves. From the manager who was there to greet us personally, to Leon who helped us with our bags and everything we needed for our room, to Al who served us awesome drinks and cant forget the servers and everyone else that made our stay wonderful.
However, as I am sure you have seen in other reviews the food ranges from just ok to inedible. I don't really want to go into detail, but most of the places we have stayed have more than one restaurant and the food at all of teh restaurants is clearly better than the food at this one. I will grant Cocobay the breakfast buffet was good and the people you had staffing the egg station were awesome, but you are trying to charge us $30 more for items that should be on the menu, Inn addition do not expect top shelf liquor. So with respect to the food - decide if you want to be all-inclusive or not.
Otherwise, I would not dissuade you from coming to this resort because the views and staff alone are spectacular and worth the trip just come in with low expectations of the dinners so you may be pleasantly surprised.

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing seven day relaxing Spring break at the wonderful and unique Cocobay. This all-inclusive adults only 'executive' resort located within its manicured grounds is located on the west side of the island looking out to the Caribbean Sea. The resort accommodation consists of individual pastel coloured chalets, available on different cost levels, each located a low hillside overlooking the beautiful Caribbean from their own private balcony terraces with two comfortable chairs and even a hammock! The premium rooms include a large shower area opening out onto the terrace to allow access from their own plunge pool. The chalets have everything you would expect from air con, ceiling fan, fridge, coffee maker, iron and board, hair dryer and an in-room safe. The comfortable double bed and soft pillows has night time bug netting coverage. The excellent multi levelled restaurant, relaxing large lounge bar and a coffee cafe are situated close together for easy access and there are two infinity swimming pools with plenty of sun seating and beds. The lower infinity pool nearest the beach has it's own 'tiki' bar with pool servers. It is great to see around the island sites and bespoke executive tours by car may be arranged via the holiday reps. Taxis are readily available via reception booking. In the restaurant the table service fine cuisine from a daily menu is truly excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Something for the future would be the addition of an onsite shop for a range of Cocobay branded gifts. This is an outstanding resort and deserves its 'excellent' rating. I have been to many resorts around the world and this is probably the best resort type I have ever stayed. It is absolutely fabulous!

My husband and I traveled to Cocobay at the end of July. We were a bit anxious to travel at this time during the Pandemic, but we felt very clean and protected throughout our entire stay. All staff wore masks, hand washing/sanitizing stations were abundant, and the individual cottages were a major incentive for us.

We had first traveled to Cocobay in 2014, and have been wanting to return ever since. It was exactly as we remembered it! We were greeted with the BEST and most accommodating staff. Glendale always had a smile on his face and Kiffany made sure that we were taken care of at each meal she served us.

The food is DELICIOUS! At each meal you have choices for 3-4 courses and there was not a single meal that we left food on our plate. You can also order a la carte if you want. There's an option of bar bites, paninis, pizzas, and pastries for breakfast if you would like other options. We never wanted to miss a meal at Rafters though!

We stayed in a cottage with a private pool. We did wish for a bit more foliage to cover parts of the pool from view from the walking path, but that was our only complaint.

The views are spectacular, the pools are beautiful, the bed is comfortable, drinks are flowing, and food is tasty! We will be back!
