This hotel is very basic, no comfortable sitting area to relax after a day out, corridors are bare, could be enhanced with some pictures, curtains in bedroom don’t shut properly. Bed was large and comfortable but unable to get much sleep due to the very loud entertainment every night. Karaoke continued well into the early hours most nights, often 2am then people were banging doors and talking further into the night. If you are going on Holiday to enjoy the beautiful wildlife and scenery Barbados has to offer then this hotel is not for you. The hotel bar and restaurant is managed separately to the hotel and visited by all wanting loud entertainment and a drink. If this is what you want from a holiday then this is the place to go but it was definitely not for us and won’t be returning .

Dear Sheilajestin, We understand that our hotel did not meet your expectations and for that we are truly sorry that it was not the right fit for your vacation. Though St. Lawrence Gap is chosen for those looking for nightly entertainment, ease of accessing the beach and an array of restaurants and nightlife to choose from, we understand the downfalls experienced with the noise. Unfortunately, we did have a group in during your stay with us that would have contributed to the doors slamming, once again we do apologize. We are working with the local authorities as the music from the kiosks by Dover Beach do tend to play music on a Sunday very late and the level of noise has also become an issues for all the neighbouring hotels and residents. Thank you for taking the time to share you review and once again, we do apologize for the challenges outside of our control that were experienced.

So glad I picked this!

This little inn is located in a great spot, across from the beach, a few steps from wonderful local restaurants and bars, light shopping. The staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive to every one of our needs. The pool is wonderful and the attached Amigo restaurant was a fun place to hang out in the neighborhood. The rooms are well priced, staff accommodating, surroundings pleasant and clean
but not fancy. I'll definitely be back here and I highly recommend the Time Out!

Room tip: Second building is the best when there's music in the bar, which is often!

Smashing little hotel

Smashing little hotel ideal for some time on the gap, we had a pool view room very comfortable 2 big beds plenty of space for all our belongings fridge kettle tea and coffee provided .Safe in room no extra charge ,hairdryer available from reception for the length of your stay, rooms cleaned daily with regular towel change. A/C and flatscreen tv in the room with good WIFI throughout the hotel, very clean hotel with a nice pool .The staff were very helpful all in all a good place to stay plenty of places nearby to eat and anyone missing the football the local beach bar shows EPL games

One small point the hotel claims sustainability practices ,top marks for that but in reality they save the hotel a lot of money turning down the A/C do not leave lights TV on ect they also recycle glass and plastic bottles many of which carry a deposit of 20 cents over a number of rooms this adds up. When asked re can or paper recycling we were told to put them in general waste ,this needs addressing to claim to be eco friendly

NOISY

This is a lovely little hotel but depending on what room you get it can be extremely noisy with music from the bar that is within the property Amigos and noise from surrounding bars that can go on to 3am. If this does not bother you then fine but if you want relaxing then this is probably not the hotel for you.

Room tip: a room overlooking the pool is probably quietest

Dear Janbee230, thank you for taking the time to leave your review with us. The restaurant on property which we lease out, Amigos, offers entertainment 5-6 nights a week and is located under the Standard Rooms, however the exertainment does end between 10pm-12am. There are also a few huts over by the Dover Beach side that at times, especially on Sunday's offer Karaoke late into the night/morning, which is concerning for all of us and also do affect the Standard rooms the most. The Gap attracts travellers who want to experience Barbados' culture, be in close proximity to restaurants, nightlife and the beach, but I agree, we all need to exists, without causing disturbances and this is certainly something the Gap community are trying to curve as many of the hotels, villas and local residents who reside in the area are affected by the excessive noise coming from the beach huts as well.

Spotlessly clean

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We knew it was “cheap and cheerful” but has everything you need and is kept spotlessly clean. Very nice pool with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Lively Amigos bar and restaurant. We had a very nice pool view room. No complaints about noise at night but apparently if you were in the other block it was noisy so go for pool view room

Room tip: Avoid rooms in block above bar - very noisy at night
