Really great octopus!

Really great octopus Wanted to find somewhere with some good traditional food and beer and this place hit the spot. Nice big place with a good atmosphere. The young waiter spoke good English and helped me choose a rice paella soup and baked octopus with potato slices both of which were superb. They have their own beer and their dunked was really good. But guys - invest in an English menu!! It would make it so much easier for us hungry tourists 😫 Highly recommended

A nice place for beers and pintxos.

Txirrintxa is a large popular bar on Calle Estefato. Although it doesn’t have the intimacy of the smaller bars, it doesn’t come across as touristy. We enjoyed nice service as we sat at the bar, and the pintxos selection was very good.

Slightly disappointed

We had noticed this bar while passing at lunchtime time. It was packed with locals so we decided to go back in the evening. It is right by the bull ring so lots to see and do and we managed to get a table outside on the street. That is where things started to go downhill a bit. I went in to choose some food and the service was a bit unfriendly and very pushy. I ended up with a dish I didn’t really want and one of them was soggy and lots of fat on the meat. We had to leave it. Other than that, the atmosphere was excellent.

Excellent pintxos and love thebla vasconia local IPA! Excellent location beside the Plaza del Toros and the old town! Staff very helpful! Get a seat outside and enjoy!

Nice bar with great dishes

Great place to eat patatas bravas, a nice Tosta of iberic ham with foie, padrón peppers, Gallego Octopus and traditional fried dishes.

A great find

We had a wonderful meal here. Yes, it was busy, but there was a great buzz and we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We came back the next day as we had enjoyed it so much. Highly recommended!

The Meat is the prize

Great Harmon pintxo - only really go here for the meat and beer. More modern appearance which way I rated it lower. More of a commercial feel, however on a pintxo crawl of the old city - a place to include mid way through. Just outside is the San Fermin countdown clock. The pintxo are simple but effective - hey very traditional and yum

Enjoyable for pincho and beer

We headed here for pinchos and beers. The bar soon became slightly overwhelmed as there was a large goup of us, but the service was good, the pinchos enjoyable and a great atmosphere.

Tapas jut OK

This is both a tapas bar and restaurant. We went in for some tapas. It was not bad, but in my opinion, too much bread. The beer was good and the taste of tapasen OK.

and great location. my friend from pamplona took me here anda told me that this is a microbrewery. the weissbeed we had was excllent definetly GO. we ate some tapas with jamon and asparagus and some other stuff whch was very delicious

Over-priced, poorly prepared food, bad service

Just because Hemingway hung out here years ago doesn't make it good today. As part of the menu, we shared two appetizers and two main courses. The appetizers were unsatisfactory. The lamb was acceptable; the codfish was undercooked, as were the potatoes. The strawberry on the dessert looked a week old. The waiter did not have a clue. The red wine was served cold. Stay away from this tourist trap.

24.11.15 - Great breakfast and friendly service

Went looking for breakfast and after walking up and down Calle Estafeta, which is the street famous for the running of the bulls, decided to eat at Txirrintxa. Deciding factors; busy with locals, interesting array of pintxos, serious beers (weiße, helles and dunkel), clean and tidy restaurant and smiling friendly service. Ordered a variety of pintxos and it was all very tasty indeed.The mushroom and the ham/cheese croquettes were very good. There is a complementary glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, unfortunately, too early in the day for beer and I had to drive to our next destination as well. Service was helpful, friendly and quick. Coffee was very good.

Hetic Tapas Bar

Delicious tapas in a large busy Restaurant situated close to the Bullring. Long servery with plenty of tasty dishes to tempt you. The staff were amazingly fast at serving which they did with a smile. Strongly recommend a visit.
