Wonderful old school service. Food was perfectly seasoned with real flavor! There was 4 of us who shared everything and the server anticipated how much per person per portion without even asking. Empty inside, but people don’t know why they’re missing! Share a bottle of Muga. Go here. Very intimate, delish dinner!

La Yaya Amelia is a family run, authentic Catalan restaurant. The food is excellent, with many dishes based on family recipes that have been handed down through the generations. Manolo was an attentive and friendly host. Highly recommended.

This is a very good restaurant very close to the Sagrada Família. They offer catalan food in general, but they have an specialty in cod dishes which they cook in very different ways. The one with ‘spinachs Cream’ is amazing, but also many others as the one ‘amb samfaina’.

Awful - No ambiance and very average food. The waitress was attentive but owner/manager slouching in chair at entrance, communicating on a need to only basis. The mushroom croquettes were stodgy. The cod was served with a warning that the plates were very hot. The plates were warm and thankfully, so was the cod, all the way through. The only other patrons in the restaurant were engaged in a very loud phone conversation with no comment from management. Sadly, considering the positive reviews, an unpleasant experience.

We had wonder food off the specials menu. Service was friendly and quick. Two brothers own and operate the restaurant. Both chatted with us to discuss where we were from and both were friendly and interested. We would definitely eat here again if our itinerary allows for it. It is not a chain and fills the local population around Sagrada Familia. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a quiet dinner in this intimate restaurant. Manuel, the owner, was very helpful in helping us out with the dishes. I had the bacalao al pil-pil while my wife had the merluza a la donostiarra. To complement these, we had a bottle of Pagos de Anguix. We enjoyed the dishes and the experience. This is definitely a restaurant to go back to.

During a recent 3-day weekend in Barcelona, we were recommended a trip to YaYa when we asked our hotel concierge for a very local, non-touristy authentic Catalan restaurant. And we were so happy with our meal, we went back a 2nd night. The food and the decor is very old school -- with just enough authentic kitch you'll feel like you've been transported to 1970s Spain. YaYa's is run by two brothers who could not be more charming. And the prices are extremely reasonable. If you can't decide what to order, just ask one of the brothers — they won't steer you wrong.

Highly recommend Excellent food. Seems that most of the restaurants in Barcelona were great. Cannot say that for Madrid.

One of the staff at our hotel suggested this restaurant- wow was I glad he tipped us off! This place looks like a quiet mom and pop type place- until you taste the food. We had quite a refined and exquisite feast. The waiter ( also owner) was attentive and kindly suggested a wonderful wine to pair with our meal. Great experience!

La Yaya Amelia is a family owned and run restaurant for over 40 years. It is not far from La Sagrada Familia. Our tour guide recommended this restaurant and we had a nice meal. The owner/waiter was very friendly and helpful with what to order. We ordered leg of lamb, spinach cannelloni and a seafood dish. Leg of lamb was a bit dry, but everything else was good. We ordered one house salad that we shared among the four of us. Wine was very good and reasonably priced. We shared two delicious deserts, creme brûlée and a berry flan. We were also given complimentary, homemade cookies. A good meal in a friendly, homey environment.

This family run hotel for over 40 years was recommended by our hotel staff. The decor was traditional and the food was extremely tasty. The main chef changed a beef dish to a vegetarian comforting meal for me , which I absolutely loved! The place was not very busy when we went and hence service was quick too. I felt the staff could have been a bit more interactive and enthusiastic.
