I highly recommend visiting the Bodega Nogal in Barcelona (Carrer de la Diputacio, 412, 08013 Barcelona) The meals are excellent!!! I have tried Dorada fish. The waiter does not speak English, is even no menu in English. But, look, in Catalunya, we can speak a little bit of Spanish or Catalunyian. Anyway, the staff was very friendly, the pice unexpectedly cheap. And the meal - was like straight from of the paradise)

My husband and I went to Restaurante Nogal to celebrate our anniversary. The interior is very cozy, with stone walls, dimmed lighting and curved arches. It definitely gives off rustic vibes. We ordered a liter of sangria (which was a little sweet for our taste) and the grilled vegetables and meat paella (pork and chicken) to share. All the food was very good and there as a house made hummus to dip the veggies into. The paella was delicious, with so much flavor- just be careful with the chicken as it was still boned. Overall a great experience at Nogal! Would recommend =)

I ate here several times with friends and family in 2020 right before the start of the pandemic. Then, for two years, I sat at home overseas and dreamed of Barcelona, and especially this restaurant. The service is very warm and professional — it has been a family business for generations — and the menu offers generous portions of classic Spanish dishes in a wide variety. This restaurant is not touristy but you will not feel excluded if you aren’t a local. And the atmosphere in the old building is very cosy. I was surprised at how good the prices were for the midday specials. Will continue to dream of this restaurant in between visits to Barcelona.

I do not like giving a poor review but most visitors to Barcelona are not there for long and their time and money need to be spent wisely. This is a pretty restaurant which looks authentic. Unfortunately the food and service do not match. The chicken was mostly bone and the chips from a packet. The shrimp spagetti was grey, lukewarm and sat in a puddle of oil. The visit was dominated by a heated argument (I assume between the waitress and the chef) coming from the kitchen. When I politely explained to the waitress this was not really good enough she did nothing to rectify it but shrugged and gave me the bill! I am afraid this really will not do. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to sort it out.

This restaurant was close to our Airbnb. We had been all over Barcelona and trusted the trip advisor reviews only to find that the food was less than mediocre and the service was poor as well. The server acted like she was put out to answer any questions we had on the menu. The Bolognese pasta was some of the worst I have ever had the carbonara tasted like Mac and cheese. We really had so much great food in Barcelona but this place did not deliver.

Our dinner at Nogal was an unexpected find near our hotel. Great food local food at reasonable prices in a nice atmosphere. There were outside and indoor seating options. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Really the only one around not having menu in English. And no one could give us explaining about dishes. So we ordered blind. In the end our mistake to stay and have lunch and were disappointed about the paella.

It wasn' t our best evening in Barcelona.... although the paella was a little burnt, it was really tasty... the glasses of estrella beer were also good.... the thing that bothered us the most was the fact that on the menu list it wasn' t clear that the paella price is per person... it was written on the menu but it wasn't obvious and so we didn' t understand it.... After 16.30 you must make a reservation....
