Since the restaurant we were looking for was unfortunately fully booked, we decided to try this one instead since it had a "Menu del dia" for 13€. Starters with "Salpicón de marisco" was ok but the "paella mista" was a bit flavourless.
As we were eating the starters the waiter just shoves 2 main courses on our table, which we thought was unprofessional since we were not finished eating and the food would get cold. Then we realised one of them wasn't even what we had ordered since we both asked for "ternera" and one of them was "merluza". We told the waiter that it wasn't our order and she took it to another table. The terneras came immediately after we finished our starters, they were obviously in a hurry... Average as well, the meat was a bit hard and the potatoes soggy. Then for dessert we asked for flan and they brought us a tiny flan that could have come from the supermarket with a squish of whipped cream on the side... The only OK thing was the sangria and that wasn't included in the menu del dia (around 8€ for 0,5l).
We looked at the a lá carte menu to see that everything was really expensive for such average food. Just go somewhere else, you only pay more because of the location near the Sagrada Familia.

A big surprise, the restaurant looks a little bit conservative, but doesn't matter when the lamb chops taste like heaven! Friendly staff :-)

A great place to experience a local family restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were English menus and English speaking servers. Most of the customers seemed to know the staff which was a hint that this wasn't a run of the mill tourist trap. The food was excellent from the kidney bean soup to the pork paella and on to the chocolate dessert. The local beer was cold and good. I will definitely return on my next trip to Barcelona in two weeks.

I ordered the mushroom or cep Carpaccio and it was excellent. Now I have to go home to try making it myself. We also ordered gazpacho and beef Carpaccio and both were also really good. The beef Carpaccio had shaved foie gras on it which was an interesting twist

You wouldn't say waw it is ok not bad food the Baella could be better
They serve fast in such crowds area you can't expect the best service to eat on the go it is ok

My Mum and I walked in off the street to this restaurant. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Mum is gluten free and this wasn't a problem at all. We really enjoyed our meal and I am sorry it took so long to write this review!

This is a typical Barcelonan area restaurant in appearance, a narrow room with perhaps room for 50 people. It looked very nice and the menu was intriguing, so we went with a family of four. We were impressed with the food and the friendliness of the place. They welcomed our two young daughters (who did dispatch a plate of Iberian ham in about 3 minutes) and we felt very much at ease dining as a family. The food, in particular the artichokes stuffed with cèpes and cream with a slice of foie gras on top, a special for the day, was really very very good, especially in this price range. We had a nice dorade, perfectly cooked, a carpaccio of veal with cepes that was wonderful, while the girls had
a very nice pasta. All in all, a great place to go and about 1min walk from the Sagrada Familia. I recommend this place highly.

Great little place with delicious traditional Spanish food. The hosts were warm, welcoming and very friendly. My family and I had built up a healthy appetite after exploring the beautiful Sagrada Familiar and were looking for something traditional and not some over-priced restaurant aimed at tourists. We couldn't have wished to find such a delightful little place with great rustic Spanish food all for a very fair price too. Would go as far to say probably the best tasting Spanish cured meat platter and gloriously ruch manchego cheese we came across our entire trip. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a good meal. Thanks again for the great dining experience.

Needed somewhere for lunch after an exhausting morning walking and sightseeing. Great little find only 100m from the cathedral. Good, simple food and a great price. We had starters, mains and wine for around 70 euros.

Having lived in Barcelona for 7 years, I discovered this restaurant just now and really liked it. We had delicious food (stuffed artichokes and steak with some amazing truffle sauce and potatoes). The service was super friendly and nice ambiente. Definitely a place I will go again since it's close to where I live :-)

Stumbled across this place walking down from La Sagrada Familia hidden amongst all the tourist cafes and restaurant touts.
Highly recommend the sole in crab sauce and the chocolate fondant. Service is friendly, personal and first rate. Highly recommended.

We had been warned by our walking tour guide the day before that Locals don't come to the blocks around Sagrada Família to eat and that all the restaurants are tourist traps and not to expect much. But he did point us to this one place and it was a good recommendation. Mussels, paella del mar and the tomato soaked bread were all very good. The place is quite small but the gentlemen with long side burns (possibly the owner) provided excellent service and was very helpful and friendly. Good stop for lunch.

From sausage and 4 cheese pastry starters to Spanish pork in delicious mustard sauce and terrific Leon steak through to apple pie with pistachio ice cream, chocolate dessert and creme catalan (a local delight) was all exceptional.
And a fine scotch selection (with a generous pour) to boot.
Go and enjoy a fine meal in a very pleasant environment.
