The tapas are a hit among many diners, who often express a desire to return, although some dishes receive mixed reactions. The restaurant was not easy to locate, took my husband and I 10mins walked by again few times then found it. The restaurant is quite small, so book the table in advance is highly recommended. Most of the dishes were inexpensive, We tried 6-7 dishes, fried artichoke was something must try !! Steak tartar was also huge portion and delicious. Chorizo for sure, sausage with broken egg yolks, the dessert Creme Catalana was so so tasty too. Just go there, try as much as you can, with this price and quality you will never regret :)

Tapeo was recommended by our bartender at Cactus Bar and he was so right! The food is delicious. We ordered flank steak, chicken legs, patatas bravas, pan con tomate, sangria, and fried asparagus... and I would go back and order every single thing again. Plus the staff was really friendly and it was just a really great experience. It was packed so I'm not alone in feeling the love.

This was not on our list of places to eat - but stumbled upon this in looking to grab some lunch/tapas. Very small place, and lucky for us there was 2 seats left at the bar where we could see the food being prepared and watch as it came out. So impressed with the freshness and uniqueness of these tapas!!. Our guy behind the bar was very helpful in explaining to us what we saw coming from the kitchen area and in choosing what to order. The next time in Barcelona, I would definitely make a point of coming here again. Impressive!

Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. My sprouts, Parmesan with fruit salad comprised a soggy plate of overdressed lettuce with a smattering of tiny bits of strawberries & a few slices of Parmesan. I saw another couple send theirs back after me. The tiny burger was ok but tasted very fatty. My husbands ‘special’ pork with red peppers & ricotta at 12 euros was tough & a microscope was needed to see the ricotta. This place is overhyped & best avoided. On the plus side the wine was good. Very disappointed overall.

My partner and I booked a table at this Tapas bar in the Barcelona gothic quarter based on solid online reviews and a quick walk by to make sure the pictures were not misleading (they are not). This place has a great energy when busy (which is very busy between 8 and midnight and the service and the food matched the really friendly atmosphere. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive from beginning til the end, they were more than happy to answer questions and recommend dishes based on your preferences . Each dish we ordered was excellent, the only minor issue was the sea bass which was served raw, which we didn't expect - however after a quick Google we realised that is exactly what was advertised. It was still actually quite nice! Would happily reccomend this very welcoming bar, we booked on the day (online) but if you go at non peak periods I wouldn't be surprised if they accept walk ins.

Wow, just fantastic. Our tour guide who lived in the area recommended this place and although we had to wait an hour to get a seat it was well worth it. The food was amazing!!! We had the octopus which was grilled with garlic and oil. Beef checks and glazed beef rib and probably the best dish was the scuttle fish pasta. All of the tapas were great and so incredibly filling we couldn’t eat it all. Location was fantastic with tons of nightlife around it. I would go back if i had more time in Barcelona. The one negative was the wait staff—i get that they are so busy that they dont have time to tell you what things are but they just kind of slam the food on the table and move and on and it didn’t really feel like a calm, relaxing place to have dinner. Nonetheless, the food was awesome and i think anyone who is lucky enough to go here will love it!

The cheese plate we ordered came late and the blue cheese was not fresh. The meal was okay but too expensive not adequate for the quality of the food. We still had wine in our glasses when we were asked if we were going to order more food. When we replied that no more food required, we were still enjoying our drinks we have been asked to leave as there were more people at the door. It was rude, Considering that We only spent about 30-40 minutes at the bar table. Would not recommend this place, neither would visit again.

Our group of twenty could not have found a greater taste experience in Barcelona. This dinner was arranged more than 6 months ago with great anticipation and Tapeo did not disappoint with the amazing tapas. We enjoyed the back room where the tapas kept coming and the sangria was flowing. The bravas and chimichurri steak were particularly good, but that could be said about everything we had. The service kept the big crowd happy and everyone left happy and satisfied.

Following the reviews I booked a table for my daughter and myself about a week in advance as this popular tapas bar which is quite small becomes busy early. Our favourite dishes were the cod mini fritters and the vegetables yakisoba, we also had grilled leek confit, patatas bravas and pincho Moruno of lamb with mint yoghurt which was very tender. Together with a glass of Rioja and jug of sangria the bill was very reasonable and would recommend this restaurant

We ended up loving this place so much that we dined here twice while in Barcelona! The food was fantastic and the servers were very kind and helpful. The space is tight so I recommend a reservation. Really you can't go wrong with any dishes but the Iberian pork ribs, ham croquettes, sausage with wild mushroom cannelloni, Fideua black Catalan cuttlefish pasta. For dessert, we LOVED the bread pudding and Catalan cream. To drink, I recommend the sparkling sangria - delicious!

This is the place to go for tapas in Barcelona. You have to have a reservation, otherwise you will have to wait at least an hour in the long line outside especially if you come after 8pm But it is well worth. Everything we tried there (and we ate a lot, at least a dozen different tapas) was sublime-tasty and fresh. The service can be little slow because of the crowd, but it is attentive and polite. If you only have one day in Barcelona. go there you won't regret

To be clear the food was tasty, but the whole waiting time ruined my evening. We arrived at the restaurant but there was already a queue outside. We gave our name to the woman at the door but she could not give us an estimate of how long we should wait which I found weird because she should have known; after all it was her job. The queue outside was misleading because apparently people before us they have given their names and then went to wandering around instead of waiting. So people who seemingly came after us they went in before us which made my frustration even worse. Not to mention that at some point there were three seats at the bar but instead of putting at least a couple to fill the two seats, they waited until they could find a party of three. I understand the business aspect, but when you have a queue of people standing outside patiently, you know that the one seat will be filled very very soon. There was always the option to leave and go someplace else but when you have invested time, and when all the other restaurants around also have a long waiting list, didn’t make sense to do so. We ended up waiting for more than an hour only to be seated at the bar, where I couldn’t even pull my chair to sit down; it was so packed that I felt like a sardine in a can. For me, not only the quality of the food counts when I visit a restaurant but also how I’m treated as a customer and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. There’s no doubt that the food was tasty, but for me it didn’t worth the suffering. Visit it at your own risk.

very good quality of food tapas and main courses both as well as desserts. Excellent fideua and calamares a la catalana.A somehow negative feature is the limited space in between the tables that lead to a non comfortable seat as well a a to much noise ambience. Good service and kind waiters nevertheless they might pay a major attention to use adequate clean tools to swab tables instead of multiuse/multipurpose plastic sponges. Good quality/price ratio

Great Tapas soMe regular some amped up. Nice combination and all great flavours and quality. Would highly recommend the house vermouth wonderful with tapas. We had the iberico ham, eggs and black pudding, Lamb nuts and parsnip and hamburger with fresh foie(liver) all good, only complaint was lamb had way too much salt and service was patchy, waited 30 mins for our order to be taken and we sat at the bar!

Our party of two ordered five tapas to share. Two were pretty good (the Iberian pork ribs and the Asian-style vegetables), one was okay (the lamb), and two were awful (the cold salmon and potato cake with too much wasabi and the broken egg with tough, chewy ham and overfried potato chunks). The service was indifferent (e.g., had to ask multiple times for a water refill). There are far better tapas places in Barcelona, and I regret dropping my money on this one.

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
