Martha made check in quick and efficient and she us some good tips on restaurants and gave us a special rate for buffet diner.
It was a bit hectic on the Saturday when we arrived as I think they have have a lot of short stays and day visitors from the city but the rest of the stay was a lot calmer with plenty of shade and sun loungers.
We had a nice large room with access to the middle of 3 pools which also had a swim up bar. Room was very clean and include free soft drinks and water. The design and garden kept the room out of direct sunlight most if the day and Air-conditioning worked well keep a nice consistent temperature.
Great view of the sunset from the lower bar area there was also a belly dancer show at 8,9 and 10 pm - some of the music was not our taste and loud but it was all over by 10 pm and things were very quite all night. The bar Terrance near the lobby was a very peaceful and another good option.
There is good step free access all the way from reception to the Dead Sea, if a little steep in a couple of places. There was a large mub pot to use and a life guard on duty with fresh water if you got salt in your eyes.
The hotel has lots of very helpful staff who are all making an effort to make you stay comfortable and enjoyable
Drinking in Jordan and the Middle East is expensive and in this hotel a beer or G&T will cost you about £10, they have a happy 2 hours with drinks 50% off 6 to 8 pm we were well looked after Salah at the pool bar.
Like all the hotels we stayed in during our visit to Jordan they have groups doing tours coming and going couple of times the pool bar and breakfast were a bit over run but things quickly sorted themselves out.
Would definitely use this hotel agin
The rooms were ready once we arrived the hotel, the check-in process was very fast where we didn’t wait for long time same to what is happening in the other hotels.
Rooms were very comfy, clean, sanitized and well prepared with all needed staff in addition to the complimentary mini-bar
Pools are very clean and big in addition to that its suitable for all kind of visitors specially families with kids and the most important thing that it is not crowded and you can easily have your own area specially the sun beds and towels also.
Breakfast and Dinner were very good; different delicious main courses which suite everyone desires, waiters were around for any service every moment.
Hotel staff was very helpful starting from the guys who are working around the reception, swimming pools, life-guards, housekeeping and the restaurant.
Special thanks for Mr. Odai Al Qudah who cooperated and gave us his attention during our stay, he was very helpful.
Thanks
first of all i would like to talk about the hotel after Coved-19 and what they done with it , since we entered all the staff are wearing masks and gloves , they sanitized our luggage and hands ,
Check in and checkout with the professional Odai Alqudah in the guest relation desk was really smooth and very fast with full information about the hotel , there is an iPad instead of paper ,a scanner for your ID you will do it by your self to have no hand contact with the one who's checking you in
The Rooms we booked both of it was upgraded for a very nice sea view , you will feel the Cleanliness when you will open the door of room ,even you will find your own mask and hand sanitizer, a free items in the minibar and they sent amenities (fruits and cookies) for our room .
we had our dinner in 393 restaurant the food is amazing and very delicious , they didn't take long time to prepare it ,i would like to say thanks for the kind Riza and thanks the super active Haitham Shamari who suggested us to try the restaurant.
i will not forget to mention the hidden star over phone Ra'ed Azzam , every time i was calling 0 he is there to answer all the questions, what makes me talking about him the hidden smile that you can feel it in his voice .
Well the employees we interacted with provided great service and were so helpful you can really feel the true hospitality
I did not have high expectations from the hotel, other than basic sanitation and service that you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
I was instantly disgusted when first entering my room and finding a DEAD cockroach on the floor (picture attached).
We were assigned 3 meals a day (2 for people fasting during Ramadan). The meals are not up to quality of a 5 star hotel, and arguably would not be served at a 3 star hotel. It is understandable that the hotel is operating at limited capacity, however that should mean that hotel employees are working with double effort. However, it seems that the employees are NOT INTERESTED in working at all!!!!
When complaining to the reception they will initiate a series of excuses and continue to blame it either on other employees, or on the fact that they are on limited capacity, without actually solving the issue.
Every resident at the hotel is a student, and committed to online classes and exams. The Wifi is terrible, it gets interrupted and freezes for long durations, hence interrupting our studies.
It is absurd that we have paid extra to ensure good service for our mandatory quarantine, just to be stuck here for 17 days wishing we never came back.
If this is how the hotel decided to treat returning Jordanian students, I cant imagine how they would treat foreigners at their hotel!
Special thanks to Thawrah who did a great job in the changing rooms under the infinity pool - kept very clean, and she was so helpful to me when I was on my own with 3 young children.
We made our way to the poolside (there are a variety of pools, including a separate shaded kids pool). Lots of sun loungers available and we soon realised why: within seconds of keeping still you get attacked by hundreds of flies!! A shame, as the pool area really is nice otherwise. But we could not stand it after a while.
We plodded on to the private beach, which again is lovely (you do have to go down a bit of a hill to get there). Sun loungers and towels available again here, and fewer flies as we discovered! The float in the Dead Sea waters is magical, and the hotel also provides buckets full of mud you can cover yourself in - all a fun experience! Just make sure you don’t get any water in your eyes, it really stings!!!
We had dinner at the hotel buffet, as there wasn’t really anything else around. A good selection, although most of the food was cold. The ambience felt a little cafeteria like too, it was quite loud and busy.
Now my main memory of the hotel, which unfortunately overshadows the whole stay, was the fact there was a wedding the night we stayed. They had given us a room backing straight onto the location of the wedding party, which meant our room was literally shaking from the loud music until well past midnight! We first called reception just after 10 to enquire when the music might stop, as we were tired and preparing to get up early the next morning. They assured us that the music would stop at 10.30, so we accepted this. However, this was not the case, and when we spoke to reception again some time later, they seemed to have little interest in sorting this situation. We of course do not blame the wedding party, but as a hotel, you should look after the well-being of all your guests. You either need to limit the noise/ lateness of such a party or let the party book out the hotel exclusively to avoid such situations. Or at the very least not give adjacent rooms to hotel guests!!
I know we were unlucky in this respect and most travellers won’t face this problem, but the way the hotel managed the situation was bad, and no apology was forthcoming whatsoever.
Since corona virus is existing Hotels are making sure to have disposable glasses in rooms, but room service were to slow every time when we ask for new glassware or extra ice!
Ill pass to the pool experience the barmen Ahmad and Ali were so nice and very professional as well the life guards they had all the time there eyes on the pool to make sure everyone is safe.
Now our dining experience was 50/50 since there was lot of guests and less service team the order always took long time sometimes they had to put main course before the 1st. Food quality not the best one of the salads was obviously made before at least one day the cucumber was very bad!! The 1st day i had the karry with rise it wasn't the best thing almost not eatable.
For the dining team even we had bad experience but qlso Abdelrahman he tried his best to make everything right also ive noticed that "tall" Mohammad was very active and trying his best to make everyone happy.
Overall for 5* hotel was expected to be better, specially for a shan as holiday inn.
The food quality was awful, the services were crab, everytime we speak with the front desk they treat us as if we are prisoners, they don't bring enough water neither toilet papers!! and spiders and insects were really scary.
2 things bothered me personally the most, and many guest shared their feeling with me: 1) the bad internet connection , we basically almost dont have wifi
2) the food quality, it has been a nightmare, and the feeling of having no second option is just frustrating.
If you are after an experience that won’t be as any experience you should come here !!!!
