The Bay Gardens Hotel, nestled in a prime location, is praised for its easy access to local attractions and use of sister hotel amenities. Guests enjoy the hotel's various pools and shuttle service but feel the gym and towel service could be enhanced. While the overall cleanliness receives positive remarks, some have concerns about shower maintenance. The hotel's nostalgic charm is noted, although opinions are split on the dated decor and sometimes overly tranquil atmosphere. Room conditions are a mix of satisfaction and calls for refurbishment, with issues like mold reported. Service is generally commendable, yet there are occasional lapses in bar and front desk efficiency. Travelers question the value, pointing out costly extras and restrictive policies that seem to overshadow the benefits of their stay.

Stayed during covid, It was not where we should have stayed as our original destination stopped travellers, but staying here to celebrate my husbands 50th was lovely. We were initially booked into Bay Gardens Inn, arrived all looking dark we were then sent to the Hotel where we had a free room upgrade. A managers cocktail party was in full swing so complimentary cocktails on arrival. The small amount of traffic noise in the room had us move next day, the available rooms being smaller we paid extra for an adjoining room for daughter. The rooms were lovely spacious clean with quiet A/C and ceiling fans. A small kitchette. Breakfast service because of covid was chaotic but staff managed to get us all served with an adequate choice which changed daily. The shuttle bus your lifeline to getting out was busy and occasionally more frequent when getting guests to outside restaurant bookings.
Reduit beach was lovely with the non motorised water sports available, for free. Really enjoyed taking the Hobie Cat dinghy out. Tried water skiing which I had not done for 20 years. Like riding a bike it was. The hotel very quiet 3 pools but close to strip if you were allowed out. I preferred this hotel to the beach resort as atmosphere there was a lot busier and the restaurant there not a reason to eat there. Christmas Day Santa visited wearing a mask and visor. My daughter received some locally made jewellery as a gift. I enjoyed staying here, we were looked after and very comfortable. Great chocolate milkshakes and cocktails at the poolside bar.

Compared to other hotels in the area the Bay Garden Hotel is a good option if you don't want to spend a fortune. They have a restaurant on site that offers a meal plan or you could venture out to nearby restaurants. There are 3 pools and a shuttle that can bring you to the beach ( a ten min drive). The Bay Garden Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to stores and restaurants.

We chose the Bay Gardens Hotel for a number of reasons – not least location but also because it offered better value than its sister hotel, Bay Gardens Resort, which was on the beach. And, as we didn’t want any sort of all inclusive package, this was absolutely the right choice for us. The hotel is right in the centre of Rodney Bay and within easy reach of all the town has to offer whereas the Marina hotel was further away from the town centre. The Resort is at the opposite end of the beach to the hotel and is about 15-20 minutes’ walk away – but the free shuttle bus which runs hourly between the Bay Gardens sites is perfect. We like walking – but in the St Lucia heat, it was definitely nice to arrive at either the beach or back at the hotel without being a sweaty mess!

The hotel itself is lovely – clean and quiet, with four small swimming pools to choose from. There’s a nice bar and restaurant area and the staff are mostly really friendly – especially at the bar. Watch out for the rum punch – it was pretty potent stuff! Our room was in a two-storey block with a lovely big balcony, complete with a bat who had taken up residence in the eaves! The room itself was also a decent size and crucially, had great air con. Breakfast was included in our rate and was plentiful with a local specialty on every day which we enjoyed a lot.

Down on the beach, all Bay Gardens residents are able to use the facilities at the resort including beach loungers and the bar and restaurant. We also used the much bigger and very warm pool there. The best bit of being able to use these facilities though was definitely the inflatable water park in the sea in front of the hotel. Great fun – but much harder than it looks! The beach itself is absolutely stunning and a joy to spend time on.

We spent four nights in Rodney Bay which was enough for us to explore the surrounding areas, Castries and Pigeon Island before heading elsewhere on the island, and the Bay Gardens Hotel was the ideal first base for our trip to St Lucia.

We were in safe hands at the Bay Gardens Hotel. The grounds and rooms were kept very clean and tidy. Food and drinks were served within covid guidelines and our temperature checked twice daily. The rooms are a good size and a small kitchenette helped during our B&B stay. Breakfast was varied enough to cater for most tastes, although the eggs could take some time to be cooked! The free wifi in the rooms dropped out sometimes but was ample for our needs. The atmosphere around the hotel is happy and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is in a good position with a short walk to the town and about 20 min walk to the beach, although they do offer a beach taxi service. We enjoyed our week's stay here.

Stayed for two weeks in superior room with all inclusive.
Positives: Staff are wonderful and friendly. Room clean with attentive housekeeping. Plenty of loungers by pool which was very clean. Towels available. Bar was excellent with wide variety of drinks and extensive cocktail list. shuttle to/from beach was useful. Ran every hour from 0930 on time.
Negatives: staying for 2 weeks the food menus become monotonous and limited. Manageress reception (each Monday) was underwhelming with 'free' drink (free on all inclusive?) and buffet meal (can order from the daytime menu). Buffet was good on first occasion, less so on second. Sometimes the wait time for service is quite long. This is NOT an issue with staff but more organisation behind the scenes I think. Some of the 'entertainment' was mediocre and while there was a range of music styles played in the bar, the focus was, unsurprisingly, on reggae.
All Inclusive - there appears to be several variations of 'all inclusive'. Those booked direct with resort include Spa treatments and a 'Dine Around' programme, while those booked through agents/travel companies have less included. You need to check with reception which one you are on but it would be very useful to have this information clearly explained in writing.
There was some road noise but it was not a problem.
Covid protection: All visitors to St Lucia have, currently, vaccination/PCR results checked at airport and required to wear a wrist band for duration of stay. Masks to be worn in all indoor public spaces and while hotel staff all complied throughout, many visitors were less compliant and I did not see anyone being asked to wear a mask. Hand washing on entering hotel was mandatory and temperatures checks were made twice per day.
Transfers: Organised private transfer ($80US) which takes from 1 hr to 1 hr 30 mins depending on traffic Roads are appalling for the most part with many potholes and standard of driving is poor. We had a return tour to the airport which took in most of the sites ($80US per person)
Overall: a good holiday with many happy memories of friendly staff. Needs to up its game in terms of the limited menu for those staying a couple of weeks on 'all inclusive.

Skip traveling to St. Lucia until covid is over. Because you have to stay in the hotel and NOT allowed to travel elsewhere, problems occur. You can not go outside to shop and if you were planning on purchasing food and drinks for your kitchen room, forget it. Instead you are forced into the all inclusive which is a lot more expensive and might not be to your liking. Taxi rides from airport take over an hour and most drivers are driving like crazy men. The beach at Bay Gardens was beautiful, yet the locals can go onto the beach and their trying to get you to buy something is a pain. Also we had about five guys wanting us to get them drinks. WHY. because all the alchol stores are closed because of covid.

Dear John s, Thank you for choosing us as “Your Home Away from Home” sanctuary and taking the time out to post your review. We are disappointed that certain areas fell below your expectations. . Our island is open to visitors from all countries but there are mandatory entry requirements and Island protocols that must be adhered to for the duration of client (s) stay. These include not leaving the property for shopping. Our team members are more than willing to assist you, our valued client (s), with the purchasing of groceries items. On behalf of your Bay Gardens extended family, it was indeed a pleasure serving you. Just had 2 weeks room only stay at Bay Gardens Hotel and loved it!
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable air conditioned rooms, choice of 3 pools with comfy sun loungers at BG Hotel. Great facilities also at the sister Bay Gardens Resort, which is right on Reduit Beach with good sun loungers & shade brollies available on the beach. Also free water sports and large inflatable aquatic obstacle course. Free hourly shuttle bus between resort and hotel, or walk it in 20 minutes.
BG Hotel is close to all the local restaurants where 2 can dine for around £60 or less, if you avoid the occasional overpriced ones.
We didn't eat in hotel but food looked OK, however no need to pre book all inclusive as you can upgrade during your stay, but there are lots of nice places to eat nearby for less than the all inclusive. Watch out for happy hour 2 for 1 deals in hotel and the local restaurants.
Recommend Saguriaki (Filipino and sushi), Indian Spice & Amici (Italian, great pizza) restaurants. Best happy hour is at Keebees, 4 to 8pm, 2 for 1 cocktails and great sports coverage on many big screens.

10 days in paradise spoiled by poor service, shabby surroundings and don't care attitudes.
This hotel needs a refurbishment, more better trained staff and confiscation of staff phones. Clearly a job for the management and owners.
Most staff were very friendly, but others let the side down, some shuttle drivers, servers, chefs, cleaners not doing their job properly. Management needs to do more inspections on common areas as they are not clean and more training for servers. Owners need to upgrade the kitchen and restaurant areas, they are not up to standard.
Chefs need to provide better and diverse menus and get hot food to the table and on time. Other reviewers have highlighted more specific areas or incidents and I agree to all that's been said. This review in part concerns their sister Bay Resort Hotel. Finally tour operators please make more inspections before you jeopardize your reputations.

What a little gem of a hotel.
After reading some of the recent reviews I was a little apprehensive but I needn't have worried.
Yes the hotel could do with a little updating here and there but for the price you pay it's an absolute find.
Part of a small group of hotels it operates an hourly free shuttle bus between their properties. We used this most days to go to their beach hotel.
Our room was large and spacious, the bathroom a little tired but perfectly functional and clean. The beds were comfortable, there's plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, very efficient air-conditioning unit and a good sized terrace with chair and table.
We were on all inclusive and although you have to take breakfast in the hotel your other meals (and drinks) can be taken at the other properties as well.
Breakfast was good, not the best I've ever had but perfectly adequate and apart from the small buffet you can order omelettes etc which were very good, the coffee was also very good! We had lunch and dinner there a few times too and the food was very good if a bit samey. You change it up by having some meals at the other hotels.
There is a filtered chilled water machine near the bar and restaurant to fill your water bottles which is really useful and saves asking for more plastic bottled water from the bar.
But by far the best thing about this hotel are the staff, they work tirelessly (in that wonderful laid back Caribbean style) to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We had a couple of little issues with our rooms which on both occasions someone was there to resolve it within 5 minute of reporting.
For 3 star prices you are getting a total gem of a hotel but if you want a 5 star flawless property you can pay 5 star prices elsewhere!
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and I have no doubt I will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

St. Lucia is quite a pricey island so was really pleased we chose the All Inclusive option at the Bay Gardens Hotel. Really big room with oven and fridge, comfy bed and I liked the numerous plug sockets in the bedroom. Very clean hotel and they were good with Covid measures such as masks at reception and twice a day temperature checks. Spices restaurant was great. Breakfast occasionally was a bit chaotic but lunch and dinner went smoothly every time. Good waiting staff, lovely food and good service at the bar. The shuttle bus to the Bay Gardens Resort was perfect and we used this often to go to the beach although it only takes 15 minutes to walk and this was safe when we did it. The pictures don't show it but there are 4 small pools and enough sunbeds for everyone. I thought this was good value for money and as it is a relatively small hotel you get to know and see the other guests regularly so it feels like a real community.
