What travellers are saying
- Robert DBrooklyn, New York4,185 contributionsI saw the Pitons from the water. I was on a catamaran trip to La Soufriere. One of the highlights was viewing the Pitons. As we sailed out of Soufriere, we could see the impressive Pitons, which are volcanic plugs.Written June 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glen D2 contributionsWe had a great day at Pigeon Island. We were staying on the north end of the island and didn’t feel like embarking on the two hour winding mountain road to hike around the Pitons, so decided to check out Pigeon Island. We had a rental car and parking was ample right outside the park. We hiked up to both, Signal Peak and Fort Rodney. Signal Peak was a bit of a rocky climb at points and can be hot, but with decent shoes and sufficient water, it’s not all that difficult and is a relatively short climb. The view and breeze at the top are amazing. The 10 USD entrance fee allows you to leave and come back, so we left for lunch in Gros Islet at Matthew’s Rooftop, which was amazing, and came back to enjoy the beach. The last beach on the trail, we had virtually to ourselves. The snorkeling around the reef there was incredible. So many types of tropical fish! I would highly recommend visiting.Written June 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RandyRossRidgetown, Canada12,656 contributionsSulphur Springs is a geothermal field located to the southwest in the district of Soufriere, a name given by the French meaning 'sulphur mine', because of the proximity of the town to the site. It is the most popular tourist destination in Saint Lucia, with approximately 200,000 annual patrons to the park, and is known as 'the world's only drive-in volcano'.
This was a nice stop but not all that impressive after seeing the geyser fields at Yellowstone in Wyoming, in Iceland, in New Zealand, etc. The boiling mud pots were the most interesting to me.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was a lot to choose from, and people were not bothering you to buy from them.
There was a DJ who played a large variety of music, and most people were dancing.
It started to rain while we were there, others took shelter but we embraced the rain and had fun dancing in it.
Definitely worth checking out if you are in St.. Lucia! It is good for all ages and the music will please most people!

- wilwilwilWest Lafayette, IN34 contributionsIt was indeed an amazing view from the top. But the comments I saw online implied this was a situation where you drive up the mountain and leisurely stroll over to the lookout.
HA!
This is a HIKE. And it is up, up, up. Very few flat areas, though the guide kept saying it was flat up ahead, but then it wasn't.
I have a kid who hates hiking, but given the description of this we thought it would be fine. NO. It was hot, and sweaty and steep and slippery at times though it hadn't rained that day.
Our guide was good, but not too friendly.
If I knew going in it was a real hike, I would have been ok with it. I did not like the bait and switch.
For $10, it's a good value, but don't bring any old people or people who can't climb steep, dirt/root stairs.Written July 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I realise it is a public beach, but the entrance via the road has a lot of litter, mainly beer bottle tops. I've seen tourists smoking and then putting cigarette buts in the sand. WHY?
The beach restaurants are good, but expensive. Rodney Bay itself has a nice vibe about it.Written May 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We rented loungers and umbrellas. The cost was 184 US for two for the day. We rented 4. The staff of the Anse chastened resort was very welcoming even though we weren’t hotel guests. They provided towels and lounge covers and drink service. There is a great beach restaurant with amazing cocktails and food. Our boat guide had recommended the location the day before. We brought our own snorkels. The beach is sandy and smooth with calm waters and good snorkeling views. There was some lingering damage to a dock from hurricane beryl but it did not impact us. There are full amenities available.Written July 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RandyRossRidgetown, Canada12,656 contributionsOur stop on St. Lucia at Marigot Bay was basically a photo stop. While it is a historic landmark, having been used by the French and British navies before and after a number of nearby battles, it is the view that is the highlight here. The bay was used as the setting for the 1967 film adaptation of Hugh Lofting's Doctor Dolittle books. Scenes of the shipwreck, Great Pink Sea Snail, and the construction of the harness for the Giant Lunar Moth were filmed in the bay. The American novelist James A. Michener, in his 1978 novel Chesapeake, famously described the bay as "The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean".Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PattiarmyMiami Beach, FL26 contributionsWe enjoyed visiting the rainforest at Grand Eden estate and were fascinated with all the plants and their healing purposes. Our guide was awesome and had a big smile the entire time telling us about the forest. He gave us guava to sample and coconut water. You Must visit grand Eden estate! We learned so much.Written June 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amy G12 contributionsAnswe Chastenet was a beautiful beach with outstanding services. The snorkeling was awesome. We went twice. First by boat for a short visit then by car for a full beach day. The road in is a little treacherous but we made it in our Honda BRVWritten July 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ngf57Newcastle upon Tyne, UK132 contributionsWe were part of a tour group visiting this volcano. The steps approaching the craters are not too steep. The local guides are friendly and knowledgeable. There are surrounding trees and plants to add to the spectacular views. Highly recommend, a visit to the Sulphur Springs is a must!Written May 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
