This is a 2* hotel, but a fabulous one. If you are paying 2* prices but expecting 5* accommodation/facilities, then you have come to the wrong place, otherwise, get your wallets out and b****r off to your 5* boring luxury!

The staff are all fabulous, location is great, good pool, great views and most of the people we’ve met over the years have been great fun in an unpretentious, relaxed environment.

So what if you have to pay a couple of Euros to add additional items to your basic breakfast, does it matter? It is less than a couple of quid sterling for God’s sake!

The food served, be that breakfast or the snacks are lovely, all freshly prepared and well-priced.

Listen to what you are being told when you arrive. Due to COVID restrictions, you do not get a daily room clean unless you ask for it. If you want new towels, your bin changing, your balcony sweeping, new bedsheets etc then ask the cleaners, they are still there every day except Sunday, they won’t bite!

To be honest, we really enjoyed being able to get up at our leisure without the cleaners knocking on the door at 8 am. This has to be the way forward!

Yes, there is a steep hill up to the bar area, then more of a hill/steps up to the rooms which could be problematic for someone with mobility problems. If you don’t have such problems then it’s a short, sharp shock which you soon get used to.

Anthimos, Helen and Marianna are both wonderful, speak excellent English and nothing is too much trouble. The limited staff work very hard to give you a good holiday, you don’t need the assistance of a holiday rep.

That’s it in a nutshell. This place is not for you if you want 5* luxury, but if you are happy to ‘go with the flow’ and just accept it for what it is, then you’ll have a great time at Paleo Inn.

Very steep drive up to the hotel and rooms, only a small family run hotel with great staff, breakfast very repetitive you get tea or coffee with 2 slices of toast every thing else you pay but only a couple of euros for eggs any way you want them, fresh yoghurt and honey cornflakes or a traditional English breakfast at 5.90 euros.
Rooms are small very Greek with a bathroom that needs some updating even a bigger shower tray would help very small, you only get your room cleaned if you ask or you do it yourself,no change of bed linen all week and only one change of towels and believe me you need fresh towels more than that it’s red hot each room has a small balcony with a old table and chairs there is air con at 35euros a week (should be free) you can not do with out it,the safe deposit box is in reception and is 10 euros a week and you can only get access from 8am till 1am,the area ware you have your breakfast is out side a big balcony over looking the pool and is plagued with wasps and flys there is no attempt to have any deterrent to try at least to control it,the pool is very good and a God send,it’s very clean but the sun beds and brollies need renewing they have seen better days, the hotel has a bar on the terrace and is open till 1am with a good selection of drinks food served from the menu till 5pm.
Lots of restaurants and a couple of shops within 5 minis walk please don’t go expecting 3 stars because it’s not it’s 2 at best but it doesn’t pretend to be anything else just go with a relaxed attitude and you will be ok would we stay again no.

The paleo inn hotel is a rare gem of a place , most upstairs rooms have a love view and spacious balconies, beds are comfortable and there is a fridge and hairdryer and a large fitted wardrobe, air conditioning was 35 euros for a week and worked very well . Breakfast was included and was waiter service, coffee orange toast butter and jam , for an extra charge you can add extras , I had scrambled eggs and to finish honey and Greek yogurt for an extra 2 euros . Lunch was about 12 euros for two, with beer bottled water mushroom omelette ( which my wife loved ) toasted sandwich and large bowl of fries . The bar terraced area has a lovely view and stays open all day till 1am . There is darts a pool table ( 1 euro ) and a lovely library in the back . There are toilets on both levels and an indoor and outdoor shower round the pool . The pool area is beautiful and a sun trap late into the evening, the location is central for shops restaurants and beaches there is a nice beach 3 mins away although the main beach takes about 15 minutes walk .The real reason for giving this hotel 5 stars is the customer service , the staff are brilliant and always happy and smiling , this is led by the fabulous Anthonymos who makes you feel so welcome from the first greeting to him honestly feeling sorry you are leaving, and he treats everyone like this and incredibly remembers everyone’s name , nothing is to much trouble, wether he’s is fixing a noisy toilet ( immediately) or cooking in the dark during a power cut , what a thoroughly nice man , thank you everyone involved at the paleo inn for such a lovely holiday.

I paid for two weeks B&M with Tui holidays amazing that I then was expected to pay for eggs and cornflakes.was told the Tui rep never called I asked for Tui contact telephone number and again told they didn’t have it. The towels where only changed twice a week and in 32 degrees heat I found this strange After seven days I traveled to Paxi island for two days staying at Basra’s hotel which was wonderful the day after my arrival my room was cleaned the bed made and fresh towels.on my return to paleo inn my room hadn’t been cleaned and the sheets not changed for nine days I was told that due to COVID 19 I had to ask for this service. This was not explained on my arrival Tui need to take responsibility for what they sell but unfortunately they dont

This was our second stay at Paleo Inn and most certainly won't be our last.

Paleo Inn has a fabulous location, perfectly placed for numerous restaurants and bars and a stones throw from a small supermarket. There is a beach approximately 5 minutes away. The pool at Paleo Inn is extremely peaceful with an ample amount of sunbeds and umbrellas. The sun hits the pool all day long so you can sit anywhere and you will catch it.

There is a lovely poolside bar which sells very reasonably priced snacks and drinks and has a wonderful view overlooking the sea!

We stayed bed and breakfast and the room was very comfortable. It was cleaned daily (except Sunday) and the towels and bedding changed twice a week. Air conditioning is extra but absolutely worth every penny!! Breakfast consisted of toast and jam, orange juice and tea/coffee, and for an extra euro you can add additional items such as eggs, beans, yoghurt - an absolute bargain!

We had a small balcony which had a table and chairs and small washing line, we had a lovely view of the sea, we absolutely cannot fault it!

Paleo Inn has numerous returning visitors and this is mainly due to the friendliness of everyone there. Nothing is too much trouble! Dora and Katie who work during the day are absolutely adorable, Marianne works during the evening and is so unbelievably friendly and cannot do enough for you, be sure to ask her for tips of things to do. Of course Anthimos was his usual charming self and should be extremely proud of his hotel and staff.

I could go on and on raving about Paleo Inn and Paleokastritsa but by best advice would be to go and experience the beauty of this wonderful resort. It is hilly and probably not ideal for children (which for us is part of its charm) but I challenge anyone not to fall in love with Paleo Inn and Paleokastritsa.

We will see you again soon :-)

The good: 30
Location is great, 15 mins walk from the beach, bus stop right outside which will take you into Corfu town. The staff are lovely and are always willing to help! I’d describe this place as a cheap b&b, if you don’t want to end up paying too much for accommodation.

The bad: 70
Beds will break your back, I have come home with severe back pain. You can feel the springs inside the mattresses only god knows how old they are! Worst 7 nights sleep I’ve ever had. The bathroom is horrendous, the shower has a tiny tray and a shower curtain which sticks to you as you shower, all the water ends up on the floor which then goes down a VERY SMELLY DRAIN. As soon as you open the sink tap you can instantly smell the drain and believe me it isn’t something you’d want to smell! If you want AC it’s charged per night, there’s two irons and hair dryers for everyone at the whole hotel which need to be requested for use.

All in all I wouldn’t stay here again, lesson learnt - don’t book cheap accommodations!

Yes, this is basic, typically Greek accommodation. Anyone who has been to similar style accommodation will know what I mean so don’t expect 5 star luxury. Having said that, the Paleo Inn is great value for money and run by very friendly staff (Anthimos especially!)
Twin beds, perfectly adequate bathroom with plenty of hot water, very clean and a balcony with a view of the sea (some a better view than others). Air conditioning is payable locally (5 euros/day) but AN ABSOLUTE MUST as the weather is usually hot. The on site restaurant/bar is where breakfast is served and also provides snacks and drinks ( drinks til 1am) . The pool is gorgeous and also warmed by the summer sun ( plenty warmer than the very cold sea!) No problem with getting a sunbed (although visitor numbers were down due the Covid paranoia) but the parasols could do with replacing.
The local area is great - plenty of restaurants/tavernas in easy walking distance. The local beach ( mixture of pebbles and coarse sand) is just a 5 minute walk and the main, larger beach about 15mins walk. It’s also very well serviced by a bus route which can get you into Corfu town in about an hour.
One final word of advice. I’d definitely recommend the Paleo Inn but remember to budget for the total cost. The accommodation/flight may sound cheap but these studios have no kitchenette and the cost of eating out each day can soon add up! Our evening meal (for two of us) was costing around 40 to 50 Euros (inc. drinks.

Friends who stay here regularly told us to come, and they were 100% right! The rooms are spacious with useful balconies, clean bathrooms with ample hot water; and the towels and bed linen are changed every third day. The view from the bar/restaurant is stunning, and the pool catches the sun throughout the day and into the evening if you have grown tired of the beach. With free wifi, a breakfast service from 8am until late in the day, a really decent range of burgers and sandwiches and a fully stocked bar open until 1 am, the Paleo Inn has everything you could ask for in a small hotel.

I'm on my last night of 4 here, and feeling quite sad to leave! This is a lovely small hotel, with a gorgeous, very clean small heart-shaped pool and very friendly obliging staff. I've really enjoyed staying here; it feels very relaxed and 'homely'. My room is on the 2nd floor on the west facing side; the room is really big, with a lovely wide balcony with plenty of space for hanging washing to dry. I've got nice side views of the sea, & facing a mountain. I think the side rooms on the east side face the hotel next door, so if you have a choice I would go for the west facing side.

Some previous reviews criticised the breakfast; ok, for €5 it's not brilliant, although they've now added an egg option or a really filling bowl of yoghurt & honey. Personally I think they could improve it massively by offering local products instead of those awful little packets of plastic-wrapped jam. Eg, what about some small bowls of the amazing local kumquat jam or honey? This would make a huge improvement. It's also really bad for the environment to use those plastic cartons of jam. Also an option of brown bread, not just white?!
But other than this I really enjoyed my stay here & would definitely come back next time I come to Corfu!

I stayed as a solo traveler, the weather was amazing, plenty of great places to eat, all nearby some next door, beach not too far away may be a problem for people with walking problems paleokastritsa is very hilly so be warned.
The paleo inn, I was in room 104 which was situated on the ground floor of the block, typical Greek self catering so no surprise there, a perfectly good fridge for chilling your drinks, no kitchen area though, no kettle so you might want to take your own if you like a cuppa in the morning!
Breakfast was included in the price, which consisted of toast/jam cup of tea or coffee and for one euro extra you get to choose from a list of extras like boiled egg etc…
Access to the inn is up a semi-steep ramp not so hard but access to the block of rooms is up another very very steep ramp although to be fair although steep is not long it’s only about thirty feet, great fun on those nights when you’ve had a bit too much to drink and you can’t make it up the ramp.
Room was cleaned regularly, towels changed once a week, lovely balcony with tables and chairs very comfy but basic rooms although the drain in the bathroom did stink at times but I didn’t spend my holiday in the bathroom so who cares.
The bar area is lovely and run by the most amazing ladies and a lovely guy!
They’re around to help if you need anything. Guests met in the bar after dinner to drink and chat and also to eat lunch and escape the mid-day afternoon sun the terrace and bar area is fully shaded with a lovely view of the sea and road and it’s nice to sit and watch with a iced coffee.
Light snacks and lunches are available throughout the day reasonably priced and very tasty.
The pool area is lovely, the pool itself is very refreshing at its deepest point about 6 feet deep. The sun loungers and parasols are a bit dated but do the job ok.
There’s a toilet and shower rooms on the pool terrace for late checkout guests which is nice.
It’s my first time at Paleo inn and I would stay here again definitely, it’s not the flashiest place but it’s got real appeal and it’s down to earth, it’s laid back and it’s fun, I met some amazing people and have some wonderful memories of this place.
