Dont let the drive to the park disappoint you. The park is very well kept and like an oasis in a commercial area.

Park staff were simply amazing. Friendly, helpful and you get to meet Molly!

Sites are well maintained, large, level, gravel and clean.

Well worth the price. 30 amps with water fill and dump.

A good, clean safe place to stay and day trip from.

We loved the night we spent at this campground. The sites are very well shaded with trees and are large and isolated from others. We travel in a 23' Class B RV but used the bathroom at the park and it was exceptionally clean and modern. Normally we use our own bathroom but our water tank got destroyed by a highway incident on this trip and we needed to use the park's facilities and were not disappointed. The trail by the beach/lake is nicely marked with interesting placards explaining the ecology of the area and is a beautifully maintained boardwalk. We would definitely stay here again if in the area and highly recommend it as a great respite after a long day on the road or as a great stay for relaxation and beach time.

Territorial Park Campgrounds are well maintained and exceptionally clean. The campsites are spacious and well treed. Great Slave Lake is a wonderful place to visit in Canada. It's a huge lake. You'll feel like your on the ocean. The beach in the campground is large with great sand. The water is chilly but if you dig your toes into the sand you'll find warmth. There's plenty of daylight at this time of year. We saw a lovely full moon, sunsets and the sound of the birds is beautiful. There are ways to deal with pesky insects and I wouldn't let them stop you from this experience. I also enjoyed a fish fry in Hay River.

After passing the Hay River Airport we reached an area which appeared strange but also familiar to me. A railyard, oil tanks and a Chinese restaurant named New Spring which obviously had not survived the last winter remembered me to a well-known area in my hometown Vienna called Upper Lobau or Oil Harbour area. After crossing a railroad track (the nearby end of it is the northernmost point of the contiguous North American standard gauge railroad network) we reached the campground in a nice wooded area with a beach at thre shore of the Great Slave Lake. It was noisy, many dogs around (not well-behaved), lots of – at the time of our arrival full – beer cans. Due to a fire ban no barbecues on the beach, otherwise very similar to the beach of the “New Danube”. Like at home, but with a few differences: Young men in their attempts to impress girls where driving up and down the driveways in the park with pick-up trucks, a species of vehicles virtually non-existent at home. Throughout the park everyone was properly dressed, which is not the case at several places near the Vienna Oil Harbour, where swimming without clothes (originally as a political statement) has a tradition going back to the 1920s when police officers on horseback were chasing indecently dressed swimmers and sunbathers through the forest.

The night (it was a weekend) was anything other than pleasurable. Cars driving in and out until late, dogs barking all night, and dog-owners not looking after them. The campground is well maintained, campground staff is very friendly, but if you are not in the mood of partying all night its is better to avoid it on summer weekends.

Very large campsites for either RVs or tents. Many sites cater to additional vehicles/boats. Beautiful treed in areas, semi-private sites. Steps from the beach. Amazing sunsets from the beach or a short drive away. They are in the process of building a new washroom facility, so when it's complete, this campground will be terrific. There is currently no payment needed for the showers, however there is only one woman's shower while they're building the new facility. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. They take great care to ensure the park is very well maintained. Wonderful soft sand on the beaches to rival others around the world. The only downside to the north is the mosquitoes. These guys come around later in the day, so be prepared. Horseflies aren't as bad as we were expecting... as they can be notorious in the north.
