For a surf resort, this place is great compared to most, in the area. I stayed here 2x. The first was March and i got the room right above the resto facing the beach. The toilet had issues with the flush but that was overshadowed by the view! The food was excellent. The organic options from seabuds was fantastic! And where else can you find a celebrity owner wjo actually says good morning to you and ask how your stay is? The second visit was this May. We got a smaller room without the view which was fine. But the issues was the airconditioning. It never cooled. I literally woke up around 3am having difficulty breathing because the air in the room felt so congested. However, the overnight sleep in both visits are not the only basis. Value for money, location, staff, food, and overall experience weighs more. That is why i give thia a 4 of 5

The hotel/resort is instagrammable, it is one of the decent-looking beachfront hotel in San Juan. The rooms are clean (no foul smell) and have fully functioning hot/cold shower, lots of sockets, bidet and aircon, although some rooms looks old and they sparingly provide toiletries and no blower or exhaust fan in the room. It is also quite pricey since it does not include free breakfast when you book one of their rooms. Their service is not perfect (They should really renovate some parts of the room) but we definitely enjoyed our stay, the staff are welcoming and accommodating.

The resort is situated in one of the liveliest parts of San Juan and it is just a walking distance away from some of the most popular restaurants and bars in that area.

Stayed here for a night in a "deluxe room". It was clean and pretty basic. There was no bottled water, which they could've at least provided. The remote control of the TV was hard to use. I mean, the remote controls didn't seem to work at times. Good thing there was a wi-fi, which was pretty fast. It was also quiet and comfortable so I had a good night's sleep. There was no free breakfast.

There is also an on-site restaurant. Their food was pretty good for me but the portions weren't that plentiful and it was quite expensive. The waiting staff in the restaurant was accommodating.

The other staff members of the resort were also helpful and polite. They also have a surf school, but I can't comment on that because I've never tried it.

Overrated and overpriced!!

You are going to pay for almost 100dollars per night without simple room amenities such as coffee sticks, kettle, sugars & bottled water. This place used to be a GEM in san juan launion but now everything had declined📉. If you are selling your rooms on a higher price at least provide your clients with a high quality and pro active customer service but instead you hired ill-mannered female receptionists who act dumb all the time.

If you are a customer looking for a place in san juan launion, skip this resort and their restaurants ( food portions are smaller than kiddie meals) Get your money’s worth somewhere else! DEFINITELY WILL NOT COMEBACK!

Went here with my best friend for 3 days for a much needed vacation. The resort does have a restaurant and I enjoyed the choices. The beach have surf instructors that will guide you and help you out. They give good instructions as I managed to balance myself on the surfboard on the third attempt.

Room is quite nice but I expected more especially the bathroom. It is not dirty or anything is just that I expected more. The ambiance is also relaxing. They have a gift shop but the choices werent as good.

The staff were also quite helpful as they have no hesitation when we requested for a bigger room. The original we had only had one big bed, seeing as we were both guys, we ought to have a room with separated beds.

It was good experience. I still miss waking up in the morning and smelling the beach while enjoying my pancakes.

We liked this quaint resort in general. Good location. Good food. Best Acai bowl we’ve had in the Philippines .. but make sure you stay in the main hotel. We stayed in Condo #2 - bad experience. No elevator, 3 flights of steps. Ants greeted us. There was a leak in the bathroom too that the staff came quickly to fix. So that’s ok. What is awful is the Noise coming the street! Cars, music from the nearby bars. Would go back but Only if we had the ocean view. Otherwise there are other resorts in the area to choose from!

Stayed for 4 days and got bed bugs bite on my face. Receptionists didnt know what to do. Didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. Team leader didnt know what to do and didnt know how to handle complaints. I shouldnt be surprised; staff couldnt even answer phone calls.
Bathroom drainage stinks! I had staff cleaned the room but the bad smell was still there. Airbnb rentals is way better.

When I go to La Union alone or with friends, I often stay at cheap hotels or sometimes at the backpacker's hostel. This time, I went with my sister (it was her first time) and her boyfriend. I decided to check us in at San Juan Surf Resort since I heard that their service is good and the place is nice. It was my first time to rent in this resort so I was excited about the experience but it was an epic failure. The receptionist was not accommodating, unfriendly and not attentive. The worst part of our trip was when someone stole my cash and Ipod while we were sleeping. The thief opened our window and got our back packs, he even managed to sort out our valuables from our clothes and other unimportant things because when the other backpack was given to me when I saw him, my sister's samsung tab, my branded sunnies and other valuable things were inside except for my cash and Ipod, then my other stuff were on the floor. When I told the staff (who was the only) on duty that time (3:30 AM) he just walked slowly upstairs and started to tell other theft incidents in the resort. Around 7am, when the restaurant/ reception was opened, I approached the receptionist and told her what happened, she just took notes and I even initiated to give her my contact number so her unavailable manager can reach me ASAP. The police arrived and told us that there wasn't a sign of forced entry in our room and said that we might left our window unlocked and told the resort that they should have a cctv camera. We stayed at the 3rd floor, room 33, so how can the thief know that our window was unlocked? Meaning, he really took time trying to open each window in the resort? No one in the resort apologized for what happened, they didn't even settled anything before we left. They just told us that the management will contact us for more details/ updates. The place is nice and all but how can you enjoy such when you know that thieves are going around while you sleep, they can go room to room/ floor per floor without getting caught. The resort has three entry points-- from the highway, parking area and the beach, with no gates or security guard around. This was a very traumatic experience.

We went here to stay for 3D2N last 05-07 of July. We booked the VIP room & they have assigned our room into VIP 2. We arrived late at the resort about past 10pm.

Upon entering to the room, we just find it okay because it’s clean & spacious. But as we explore the room, there was no bottled water, toiletries such as shampoo & soap looks very used, what’s worst is that, the shower doesn’t have hot! So from a long travel we atleast need a warm shower. As this is too much disappointment for us, I asked my husband to go down to the reception to ask why all these things are missing. Even a room telephone is not available the receptionist even told my husband to use our OWN mobile phones! Goodness sake San Juan Resort! We have booked a VIP room to think that these basic amenities should be included in our room. But you’re such a disappointment. For a 1 night that costs for more than Php 3,000.00, it is not worthy at all. We are frequent traveller & we’ve stayed in different types of hotels & resorts, but honestly you’re the worst.

I have only given a 2-star because of the breakfast served by the Coast Call. If not for them, you’re not even worth a 1-star.

I would not recommend this resort unless you’re low expectation traveller.
