Hotel's Favourite
Excellent area to start each day from. Hotel was quiet, clean & had laundry facilities as well as a pool. The kichenette, ( microwave, stove, coffee maker & dishes) made a perfect addition to our vacation as it meant we didn't have to dine out each day.
Staff were friendly & helpful.
We disembarked from a cruise ship at Ogden Port, and walked to the hotel. (Would cab or bike cart in future)

Not much seems to change here but it works because they keep it clean, the service is good and the location is excellent.
Nice big room size with umbrellas, bathroom robes a safe, microwave ,coffee maker a small fridge, dishes and cutlery .
Bathroom is on the smaller size but they have a tub with a shower
Our king size bed was very comfortable
They have a small pool on site with a hot tub as well games room downstairs with card games and board games
It is a dated property but they keep it up well And I think it reflects in the price structure

We stayed for a few days over Christmas. We reserved a lower level pet room for the extra $50 but had our room upgraded for free to a suite with parking. Room was warm, cozy and quiet. The room needs updating and the bed should be replaced but we had a good stay. A nice touch is coffee is available at 7am in the foyer and the in-house restaurant served a large and tasty breakfast for a decent price. Staff was excellent and the location for downtown Victoria is excellent (2 minutes walk to the Legislative building). Pricing compared to other local hotels was a little lower.

We booked the Royal Scot with our Coho/Blackball Ferry tickets through Blackball's booking system. Everything was smooth, and the Royal Scot even allowed us to check-in to our room early. We were pleasantly surprised with the comfortable, clean suite that included a kitchen that had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also appreciated that on-site parking was included with our booking. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed some great sleep after busy days. The only thing not perfect was the internet. WiFi sort of worked, but was very slow and kept kicking us off (appeared to be older Cisco equipment, 2.4 GHz only). Websites/lookups downloaded eventually. We tried all of the usual reboots/resets with no improvement. The location is excellent with easy walking access to Fisherman's Wharf and the Empress / Waterfront area and all it has to offer (minus the homeless encampments and trash one would expect in an urban area similar to this in the US). Thank you for a pleasant stay!

This was our second Christmas at the Royal Scot and once again we were very pleased with our warm, cozy and quiet suite. We booked early for a dog room and the front desk said there was five dogs in-house when we were staying but you would never know it. This year there was a Christmas special if you stayed three nights and we also received complimentary parking. Staff was very pleasant and polite. The hotel does have an in-house restaurant which served a good breakfast in the past but was unfortunately closed. If you are visiting Victoria the location is perfect and safe.

We are still at the Royal Scot for another night of our 3-night stay.
The hotel is very well located across the street from the BC legislature which is also where the buses stop from the Swartz bay ferry.
We were greeted and checked in by a wonderful lady and got room 204. The suites are big, very well apppointed and, I must say, even with covid restrictions, the service provided is of upmost quality. Walking downtown is a matter of minutes and Beacon hill is a 20 minutes walk. Afternoon tea places and fisherman wharf are also about 10-15 minutes walk.

The unit furniture, amenities, bathroom, kitchen all very practical. The lobby is beautiful and you have Mr Bear in kilt welcoming you.

I definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back for a longer stay, as they offer extended stay. There is a restaurant on prem serving bfast and lunch only for now. All in all, everything you need "in style".

We had two nights in Victoria, on our own, during a Thanksgiving Trip built primarily around time with my son. My research led me to Royal Scot as a hotel which offered superb value for a very nice, relatively small hotel in an excellent location just a block or two from the Harbour waterfront (see photos taken on walks to dinner) and short walk into Victoria’s downtown. The hotel met and exceeded expectations in all areas. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable; staff was extremely welcoming and attentive & the pool & hot tub were open, clean and very enjoyable. We had an awesome couple of days in Victoria and strongly recommend Royal Scot as a home base. We would definitely stay there next trip to the area!

We stayed here for 2 months in a spacious 1 bedroom suite with a very comfortable bed.

We loved the location which is just around the corner from Victoria's beautiful harbour. The Royal Scot is an easy walk to many restaurants, bars, shops and water taxis and a few minutes walk to buses. Beacon Hill Park is about a 10 minute walk.

The hotel staff was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Weekly housekeeping was provided with fresh supplies of towels, toiletries, coffee filters, tea bags and sugar. Kitchen was very small but equipped with a full size oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. Dishes, cutlery, etc. was provided.

Stayed at the Royal Scout in a suite over a weekend in January for a short staycation from our home 1.5 hours away. On the good side the room was large and had everything we needed including a well stocked full kitchen. My kids also really enjoyed playing shuffleboard in the "billiards room" and the small pool and large hot tub. Location is wonderful and close to everything including the inner harbour and Beacon Hill Park. We enjoyed the view of the parliament buildings from our large balcony.

The only real negative is right after getting to the room we noticed a clump of hair on the roof of the bathroom. I admit the roof is strange place to think to even clean but we found it a bit gross and spoke to maybe cleaning staff not being that thorough. When we called the front desk they didn't have anyone available to clean it up but did offer to let us change rooms, we declined and cleaned it up ourselves. Other then that while a bit dated we found this to be a really great value for a large room in a great location.

We stayed 4 nights at the Royal Scot hotel. It is close to all attractions in Victoria and all are within easy walking distances. Parking in hotel grounds is plentiful. The staff were welcoming, cheerful, professional and very helpful. The hotel was clean, smart and light. Our room was large, bright with a balcony and large amount of storage space. The bed was huge and very comfortable with good pillows. There were good blackout curtains. There was a small refrigerator which was very useful and there was a good coffee machine. There was a large TV with wide choice of stations. The bathroom was large, very clean and had a powerful over-bath shower with good choice of shampoo, conditioner etc. The room was quiet and we slept very well. This is a really good hotel and we loved our stay - by far the best we have stayed in in Victoria and we will return.

Sorry! I just saw this question. There is both valet laundry service (probably requires you to wait for a day to get it back?) and there is also a couple of coin-operated machines for self-service laundry. We only stayed the weekend so I didn't look to see how much it costs to wash and dry per load.
