The hotel is conveniently located to RAI and Zuid, it's cheap and clean. For tech and sci-fi lovers its a perfect place. For tall people, tech-avoiders and for claustrophobics, not so much. Everything is controlled by the iPad in the room however if in the middle of the night you feel like you are freezing and the pad does not comply with your fingers then you are in trouble (or just simply cold). Unless you want to get up, get your clothes on and call someone to help you, which I'm sure they would have done as everyone is super nice there. In the mornings you will get woken by a neighbor lifting up the very noisy blinds, so no worries about sleeping in (if the Ipad doesn't work, the alarm also doesn't work). Shower and the toilet are in glass tubes, so I would say unless you feel very comfortable with your partner it's more suitable for solo guests. Be aware that the shower only turns on when the tube doors are properly closed, so you will have to be in it to switch it on. If the overhead shower is on then first you get a big whaff of cold water (good for you apparently), if the handheld one is on then be aware of the direction it faces as there will be gaps by the sides of the doors and it will flood the floor outside. However I have never experienced quickest check-in and out in any hotel anywhere in the world (you do it yourself, so it will be as fast and pleasant as you can be :))), so for that I will give an extra point. Breakfast is totally overpriced in all Amsterdam hotels, so I didn't even bother trying. Smelled good though. For solo business travelers who are not looking 5* comforts and loads of space, CitizenM is a perfect place.

We are sorry that you experienced some issues with the iPad in the room and indeed our team would have been more than happy to help and often these issues can be fixed with no need for anyone to enter the room. So far as our rooms go they are, indeed, not everyone's cup of tea but as you say they are designed with the modern traveller in mind and have all the essentials you need like a huge comfy bed and all the TVs and Movies you can watch, on tap. At some of our other locations, we also have our room versions 2.0 and 3.0 which feature a different layout for the toilet and shower which some guests might prefer. Loved this hotel. It certainly is different to many hotels I have stayed in, with a shower 'pod' and toilet 'pod' in the room. Yes, you have to be comfortable with the person you travel with, but clean, space saving, totally sufficient, it has USA socket and UK socket as well as European socket, so no need to bring a travel converter. Staff are fabulous and friendly, a little Dutch pillow person awaits you in your room.... cute touch, and indeed I bought one of the four Marvin characters. Everything in the room (lights, temperature, blinds) is controlled by an in room ipad. Very comfortable lounge. Close to Amsterdam Zuid and tram, so very easy to get around. Travelled by myself this time and felt safe here.

Hotel staff were terrific, really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, plenty of it, we also had a late supper of pizza which was fine. The room was nice and clean, although quite compact.
The location in the south of the city was not an issue, as the underground station is literally 5 minutes away, and takes you straight to the city centre. Also, the trams stop just outside the hotel, so you can get round the city very easily.

I walked into CitizenM and was inspired with the touchless setup they had for check-in/checkout that helped them reduce manual time and offer a pandemc sensistive experience. But that was it and by the end was wondering if the touchless expereince went well with the theme for the room. The room was not good a business stay. The room has a toilet, wash basin and shower next to the bed ( glass enclosures). Let me be clear, there is No Bathroom. Pronbably its for travellers who just want to get into the room, remove clothes and hang them by the door, clean up , get to bed for a quick one, clean up, put your clothes on and leave. The room really felt like glorified brothel.

We recently stayed at the CitizenM as part of a surprise birthday trip for myself off my partner. This hotel was great! Very clean and welcoming. The staff always happy to see you or help you no matter what time of the day. They even decorated my room in a football theme and left a birthday card which was a nice touch! Would really recommend this hotel. The location was perfect as the station a few minutes walk away allowed us to be at cetraal station within a few minutes. Amazing trip all round. Thanks to everyone at the hotel ☺️

We stayed for two nights and loved our little room! It is small but really well-designed and perfect if you just need a base and will be out and about a lot. Definitely one for comfortable couples if you're sharing though, as there isn't much privacy with the shower/toilet. It was further from the centre of town than I'd realised (around 5 min walk to the train station, then about 15 mins on the train) so it's worth factoring that in if you are on a short weekend break and don't want to spend extra time travelling. The hotel itself is really smart and we found the staff super friendly and knowledgeable. There is also someone in the main area at all times which we found really helpful. A couple of tips: Rooms aren't cleaned on a Sunday which we didn't realise, and trains run much later so if you have an early flight home the hotel can arrange for you for 45 euros

That's why our beds are huge and comfy, the movies and Wi-Fi free, and the showers truly jetlag busting. We added a large storage drawer under each bed and we kept clutter in the rooms to a minimum. And as always, our living rooms (not your ordinary lobbies!) and everything in them (books, art, TV) are all yours to enjoy every time you visit us. Please be advised that room cleaning is available every day of the week however we kindly ask you to request room cleaning in advance through the Moodpad in your room as we would need your consent entering your room. Sorry to learn that you were not aware of this. Regarding your mention on the location of the hotel; Our hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance of "Amsterdam Zuid" railway station. There are several ways to commute from/to the city center; Walking is definitely a nice way to explore the city and the neighboring area - however the options worthwhile to consider are as well; the tram line 5, departing just at the corner of the hotel and taking you via the Museumsquare, Rijksmuseum, to the Leidseplein and through the Jordaan area or the so called super fast "North - South line", metro line 52 taking you in 10 minutes to reach the center of Amsterdam. Indeed on Sunday's and public holidays the public transport starts from 7 AM onwards. The location near the RAI is why I stayed there. It was a convenient walk, so all good in that respect. The rooms, however, were way too funky for me on a business trip. The toilet and shower are each in clear cylinders in the middle of the room and the sink is free standing in the room. No kettle, no iron (although there is an ironing room somewhere)--2 things that I find essential on a business trip. The bed is, indeed, as huge as advertised. The staff was universally perky, friendly and helpful. The food menu is limited in number, but diverse (curry, ramen, pizza, dim sum) and the breakfast buffet was as expected. I wouldn't recommend it for business (at least if you're like me, in your 50s and are accustomed to traditional business hotels), but for younger people and those on vacation, it's a solid choice.

Hotel was lovely! We came to Amsterdam for the weekend and stayed in this very modern and clean hotel. The staff were very helpful,friendly and on hand when needed. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel it was literally a base for us to sleep and shower but it had everything we needed and more. The location was great there’s a train directly to Amsterdam Zuid from schipol that takes around 5 minutes, from the centre there is the M51 that takes you to the same station. The hotel is around a 5 minute walk from the station. The rooms are great, quite small but for a couple or someone staying on their own they are ample. The toilet and shower are in the middle of the room, very futuristic. Everything is controlled by either the app on your phone or the iPad in the rooms which is very easy to use. We checked in and out using the app so everything was really straight forward and quick. The bed was really big but we feel in our opinion let our stay down a little bit because it wasn’t very comfortable and as someone who suffers with a spinal condition anyway it really impacted my sleep and aggravated the pain in my lower spine. My partner also said that he found the bed very uncomfortable. Overall it was a really lovely hotel and we would recommend as a base for a trip to Amsterdam :)

I had the pleasure of staying two nights at the CitizenM South last February and enjoyed it very much. I had to do a late check in and it was a no brainer. The staff helped me to promptly enter my room, which was so appreciated since I was travelling non-stop for more than 10 hours. Also: the bar had a great selection of beer! Loved it!

I was there during the week and the clientele appeared to be mostly business travellers. The proximity to the RAI Conference Center is a draw as it's a 10 minute walk through a lovely park.
The rooms are small but perfect for one person. It would be tight for two. Design of the room is space station. The room is as wide as a king size bed which is at the far end of the room, and there are two circular, enclosed pods at the front - one with the toilet inside and one for the shower. Usage of space has been maximized with a large drawer under the bed for luggage and clothes (no closet), a narrow desk and chair beside the bed and a mirror/vertical shelving unit for toiletries. You control the room temperature and lights through an iPad.
The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Black out blind. Room is quiet. I slept well.
Shower has a rain head and hand held. Pressure and temperature good. Combo body wash/shampoo and you need to ask for conditioner and body lotion (if that's important to you).
Good breakfast, very good espresso (if that's important to you). The main living area is very comfortable. Long tables for remote work and unlimited espresso if you've paid for breakfast.

About 20 min. But you can take bus train tram you have to go to station Zuid its about 2min from the hotel,also you can go at othres station like Rokin or the pijp this station are also in the center of amsterdam and you can walk its very easy
