Nestled in a serene location, Pyramid Lake Lodge garners praise for its tranquil setting and picturesque views that provide a peaceful retreat from the bustling tourist spots. The lodge's atmosphere and cleanliness are frequently commended, with guests enjoying well-equipped rooms despite some appearing dated. While the hotel's staff is lauded for their exceptional service, opinions on value are mixed, as several visitors mention steep prices and additional fees. Amenities are generally appreciated, although there are calls for improved maintenance and breakfast variety.

We recently stayed at the Pyramid Lake Resort for an extended weekend getaway and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were cheerful and helpful, the setting is breathtaking and the location is just a short drive from the townsite. The room was clean and equipped with a small fridge and microwave so that you can bring your own food and avoid restaurants during the pandemic. Having said that, we ordered food from Jasper Brew House and it was delivered to the room in no time!
The highlight of our stay was sitting on the balcony overlooking Pyramid lake and the mountains, as well as the many hiking trails at the doorstep of the resort.
I highly recommend staying here for a little retreat to nature, you won't regret it!

We decided to check out pyramid lake resort on this trip based on location and value .
Check in was quick and easy even with the covid precautions . You can book half an hour time slots for the hot tub . We did not have any issue getting a time that worked for us.

We had a fantastic stay, we had a room with a king bed which was prefect for us.
The bathroom and sleeping area both had in floor heating which was a great surprise . There was also a fireplace . The balcony had a fantastic view . The bed was comfortable .
The shower head lacked pressure so if you have long or thick hair it’s a bit annoying but that’s minor .
There’s a small mini fridge and a microwave .
There is also a small coffee bar with a keurig over the fireplace .

The staff here are extremely friendly and very accommodating .

Check out was quick and easy . They have an express checkout so you leave your room keys and call the front staff once you are leaving and off you go! No contact!

Glad you had a great stay with us a number of weeks ago. As people know, we are now in a current period of restricted access to our hot tub and restaurant which will be reviewed around January 12th. While our hot tub is closed, our restaurant is open for take away breakfast service

We stayed here in July 2020, a few weeks after the resort reopened to the public after being closed due to the pandemic. The check in process was quick and we were off to our room within minutes. We had an initial glitch with the lock on our room's door but maintenance arrived within minutes to fix it. We stayed in one of the Pyramid rooms and with our balcony facing the trees and lake. The room itself was well appointed, with a very comfortable bed, and spacious. The room looked like it had been cleaned well with additional alcohol wipes provided (we brought our own to clean hard surfaces etc. as an additional precaution). We had a great stay for a few days here, and I would return.

The resort is a 5-10 minute drive from the town of Jasper and overlooks Pyramid Lake, which makes for some lovely sunrises/sunset when the skies are clear.

We were in Jasper for a couple of days, and we chose to stay at this resort for one night, we chose it for the location, but once inside our room, we regret it being there, why?

1. Air-conditioner is placed on the wall on top of one of the two beds. Imagine sleeping underneath an air-conditioner stationed directly above your head?

2. Not only is the location of the air-conditioned was a problem, but it was making loud humming noise every 30 seconds or so, there was no way to ignore the noise when it was so quite in the night, I tried turning it off, but the room turned into sauna

3. Shower was broken (water keeps gushing out of the faucet and not the shower)

4. Coffee maker didn't work

5. The mini cooler didn't work

6. Beds were squeaky

7. They charge $400 / night for this room, not cheap and one is entitled to expect functioning basics in the room

8. Whereas every other hotel we stayed at holds $50 or $100 for incidentals, this hotel holds $250

I gave 2 stars to the staff who were kind and polite and tried to help, but there was nothing they could do to improve the situation. I slept half the night in my car. Our kids were ready to leave the place by 7 am, because they wanted us to find another hotel where they could get some good sleep.

Thank you for Candid comments on your stay at the property. I apologize there were a number of issues that marred your stay and I hope you had the opportunity to advise us at the desk of these challenges so we could correct them while you were here. I regret that I did not post a response earlier to this review, as we make every effort to ensure things are right before guests check in, and if problems arise and we are alerted, we have our maintenance or housekeeping departments correct issues. We have chosen to hold the $250 for incidentals as most of our stays are two nights or more, and between charging breakfast one day to the room for a family of 4 and enjoying a canoe or paddle boat trip, $100 does not cover the incidentals.

Extremely unpleasant stay at this hotel. First of all, we had booked at another sister resort about an hour away and were not told it was closed for the winter. We then called a number on the door to be informed we were moved to pyramid lake resort. Upon arrival, we were pleased with the look/location. We then received our room, the top sheet on the bed had blood on it, and the fireplace did not work, when we brought it up to the management, they were trying to make it sound like the blood was ours which it was not and is disgusting. Not pleased with the service or situation at all. We received a complimentary breakfast voucher which to be honest, I wouldn’t eat their breakfast again if I was paid to do so. We had supper at the restaurant The next day as we did not want to leave the hotel after a long day of skiing and we were served a half rotten salad. Extremely unimpressed with Pyramid lake resort, it is an extremely beautiful location and could be amazing if only people cared and a little effort was put into day to day services and a better dining experience. Highly upsetting stay.

Thank you for your review of our resort. We regret and apologize that the room was not in the appropriate condition upon your arrival at the hotel. This should not happen and is not our normal level of service at Pyramid Lake. Your candid comments have been reviewed with our front office, food and beverage and housekeeping teams so that we can take steps to mitigate this from occurring in the future. Our staff take pride in the level of service we have delivered over the past months as evidenced by many of the very positive reviews and will strive to return to those levels. Ralph

It’s a well kept resort with friendly, accommodating staff and beautiful surroundings. We stayed for the first two nights in the pyramid room with a private balcony, king size bed and blackout drapes. For the 3rd night, we were booked in the Cavell room as the pyramid room was booked for the night. There was an issue with the room and when we spoke with front desk, they were able to get us into a different room, which we really appreciated. The wifi is really spotty so if you have any need for wifi, you may want to look elsewhere. I highly recommend the pyramid room on the second level. The balcony is secluded but with a good view of the mountains.

Since the time of this review, in the late fall, we upgraded our WIFI service and increased the upload and download speeds for a better guest experience. It is still satellite provided internet, so we will not have the speed of areas that are connected by fiber optics.

When you pay 200+ in low season on a weekday you expect more. Location was the only good thing. I have booked a Cavell Room with views to the lake. At arrival check in was fine. However, they gave me a room totally different to the pics in their website (I did the booking directly with the property) with almost no views to the lake but to a road curve and a van in front of my window making impossible to see anything. Room was darker than in photos and very hot. Heating was at full temperature. When I complained, solution was be patience, turn off heating and open doors and windows. AC did not work even if it was offered. We needed 4 hours to make the room colder with the lack of intimacy as the room was in a ground floor. Noises from the upstairs bathroom were very loud and the upstairs guests having a shower at 6am woke us up. I did check out and nobody asked about my stay. I got a survey and I wrote my comments and nobody asked me back. That is the reason why I am doing that review as it seems hotel owners do not care. Stay away of this overrated hotel. Money it is not worth for its location, even more when you are offered views which are not real. A hotel of this rating should take more care of comfort of patients. I would be quite sad to have paid for the full rate of high season for this place.

Please accept my sincere apologies that your recent visit to the property was not to your expectations. We appreciate every review and all feed back we receive from all sources as we constantly are reviewing our performance. In the course of my day, I do try to discuss issues with our guests while they are at the property so that we have an opportunity to correct guest concerns. Often we can correct issues quickly or find alternate solutions. Also, I was disappointed to read that even after completing the post stay survey, you did not get a response. I will try to determine why these comments were not forwarded to me for follow up. As the reviews on Trip Advisor are anonymous, I would encourage you to reach out to me to discuss your stay further. Thank you again for your candid comments and hope we have a chance to discuss this stay in the future.

Check in was fast, the staff are great. We stayed in a Cavell room, the bed was very comfortable and the room was recently renovated. The fireplace in our room was a nice touch, and the shared deck was nice to sit on to enjoy a glass of wine (no wine glasses in room so had to use plastic cups). Water pressure in the shower is terrible. We stayed on the lower level and could hear noise / stomps above us all night long. Wifi is slow.

The location is close to town (5-10 min drive) - lots of wildlife to see on the drive up. The restaurant at the resort has a nice view of the lake, good place to have a morning coffee. The chalets in the upper part of the resort (where we stayed) don’t have a very good view of the lake. If you stay in the older cabins you’ll probably get a better view, but they do not appear to be renovated. The hot tub and spa were not operational during our stay. It’s an easy hike from the resort out to the little island on Pyramid Lake. The kayak rental is fun, even on a rainy day. There’s a horse stable just down the road which offers trail rides.

We booked this hotel based on a previous stay here and on the location to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
We were extremely disappointed with our choice. We travel to Jasper about 8-10 times a year and have stayed at many hotels, and this was the worst.
The price is very high, and the experience and service we received did not reflect the price.
The bed(Queen sized) was horrible, it had a huge dip in the middle so your head and feet were up but your middle was lower and we were rolling into each other.
When we arrived late at night the man who checked us in was not very pleasant, we had added a notation to our reservation and he did not even read it.
Going to the room you have to drive uphill on a narrow road, that has so many potholes and bumps we thought our full-sized SUV which is off-road equipped was going to bottom outgoing about 4kms and hour.
The pull tab to close the sink drain was not actually connected to the drain, so we had to reach under the sink to close the drain, The small leather loveseats are horribly uncomfortable.
there was no second or extra roll of toilet paper in the room.
For the $300+ a night fee, I expect a nice mattress, and better customer service and well maintained or checked facilities.

Thank you for your review of our property during a visit earlier this year. We apologize and regret the mattress in your room was not up to an acceptable standard, We changed all the mattress in the hotel 4 years ago and as mattresses get damaged, we change them out. I regret this was not done prior to your stay. The comments about the gravel road are not one that we receive at the desk, and should be viewed with a grain of salt. We appreciate every review we receive and evaluate all feedback we receive from sites such as Tripadvisor, booking.com and Expedia as well as comment receive from guests while they are at the property and upon checkout. This allows us to balance a wide range of feedback and in some cases interact directly with our guests.

Note:during COVID. We booked the Pyramid King bed room. We wanted view of lake, and a quiet room. We had everything we wanted in room #32. No parking lot in front, just trees and a foot path that was quiet. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony and enjoying the view. I had been told they had to leave rooms vacant for 3 days between guests. That we discovered was NOT true, but room was all hard surfaces that we assume were cleaned diligently. We did bring our own pillows, as we thought that was safer. Housekeeping will NIT enter room during your stay, due to COVID. That was just fine with us. We booked dinner reservations prior to arrival. Dining area was spacious. Tables well distanced. Servers all wore masks. Lots of hand sanitizer available. Food excellent! Boat rental followed social distancing protocols for lining up. I believe paddles were sanitized after each use. Kayaking on lake was PERFECT!!!! Checkout they asked for Express. Just call front desk when leaving and leave keys in room. Invoice is emailed to you. Perfect. Awesome stay. Felt safe. Gave us the get away we needed during this trying time.

Thank you for your detailed review of our property and especially the Covid protocols we put in place for the safety of all of our guests. There was lots of advance planning, staff training, procurement of masks, gloves, sanitizing agents, hand sanitizer and so on to ensure we complied with the Alberta Health Services Guidance for hotels, restaurants, retail operations and sport rental equipment. One day we will return to what will become a new normal, but in the meantime, we continue to be diligent with our Covid processes. Stay safe everyone, we are all in this together

Hi The Founders rooms are the old original rooms. We were there in August and they were not renovated yet. The other buildings with the rooms are relatively new. They were all booked up so we had no choice. However the founders rooms were fine for the price we paid. They are just old but very clean. All the rooms and buildings are close to each other. You can walk to and from the main lodge building from all the rooms. To the lake and around. All close. It’s not a super big place. Very nice though and right on the lake. Away from the town and very quiet. The founders rooms don’t have much of a view because the trees are mature in front of them. They all have a side deck with a couple of chairs. There will be Deer and Caribou walking around the property. The Founders rooms are closer to the main lodge. There is WiFi but don’t expect much. It is very slow. This place is in a secluded spot between mountains so don’t plan spending too much time on the computer. Enjoy the lake and scenery. Breakfast is not included. They have a buffet and you can order off the menu. We ate there a few times for breakfast and other times we went into Jasper. There is a great hot tub and you can rent canoes, paddle boats, etc. right there. Hope this helps. Stephen Bishop

it is located outside to the left of reception in front of the main building., if you have one of the further cabin rooms it's a walk down hill. I'm not sure if it is weather dependant. It was certainly open in October. Changing rooms good.
