Avista is THE best resort hands down! The staff is always willing to lend a helping hand from arrival, unloading, speedy golf cart rides to the parking deck, extra towels and toiletries from housekeeping, replacing lost room keys, recommendations for good restaurants, all the way to loading up your car for departure!! The resort is clean and updated. The water amenities are awesome! The views are marvelous, especially the corner units!! The options are wide for food, drinks, and snacks. And the oceanfront location is perfect! Not too busy!!

Very happy with our stay at the Avista this week! We traveled from NC, leaving NC a little worried, bc check out time isn't till 4 p.m. We got to the resort at 1 p.m and the nice girls at the front desk checked us on into a nice clean room. We had a one bedroom ocean front room and it was impressive! Two full sized beds in the bedroom, a fold out bed and a sofa bed in the living room. Had everything a family could want or need from the pots and pans down to the silverware and a toaster (may not be a big deal to some but as a mom that her kiddos live on toast of the morning...meant so much!) Very clean! The resort is in a great location 2 mins to everything! If you have a oceanfront room the view is wonderful! The 9th floor was perfect! If you're a ice cream lover Melt on Main street is the place you wanna go! The ice cream, environment and employees are the best! We visited there 4 nights of our 7. Its a must! Just on Main (the restaurant inside the resort) was fantastic also. Best burger I had the entire trip and the waitress was great! I will stay again here if you're a AAA member they will help you plan it for free and at the time we booked we got a awesome discount for doing so!

Pros:
1. Very clean!
2. All the guys down stairs are awesome! Always eager to help you load, unload or carry your things and they are very informative.
3. The TreeTop Lounge was awesome! Great environment and both bartenders were great! Wendy is the best! We discovered she can make a awesome 99 Banana Bomb Slushy , HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
4. The rooms have dishwashers, washers and dryers!

Cons:
1. The parking deck is insanely tight. I suggest you park and stay parked until you check out.
2. The beach access beside and under the bridge walk ways need to be cleaned up, lots of trash beside and under them.
3. Pool area could be kept a little cleaner and all pools should be open at all times. Three days of our 7 day stay one of the bigger ones was closed, not good bc the pools are on the smaller side.
4. Our washer and dryer in the room was broken but we made do. Washer leaked and the dryer door kept coming open so every 7 mins we had to shut the door and restart. The dryer does dry fairly well, keep the door open to the closet and lent removed you will be surprised.

All in all:
You won't be let down! Just do it! Book your room and GO! You will be happy you did!

This was our third stay at Avista and everything was perfect. We stayed 6 nights. Our previous stays we also very good, but we had some minor issues with elevators being out of service, not great service when ordering food at the bar but this time, no issues what so ever.
Room was great, we had a 3br on the 15th floor and it was very spacious. it was very clean when we arrived and stocked well with towels, trash bags, etc. This is because there is no maid service because of covid which we were initially disappointed, however, turned out we really didnt need it. We put the trash outside our door and they promptly picked it up and the room was big enough where we never felt cluttered. And quite honestly, during this time, it was probably better that we didnt have other people in our room to reduce the chances of getting the virus.
Pool and beach were also perfect. Pool wasn't too crowded and when we went to the beach we rented chairs and umbrellas so we never had an issue finding a spot.
Overall, wonderful stay and very relaxing. We'll be back for a 4th time.

We were very pleased with our selection of the Avista Resort. After reviewing and sifting through the numerous resorts/condos/rentals/hotels available in Myrtle Beach, we chose a winner! The staff was friendly and attentive our entire stay.

The 1 Bdrm corner condo was perfect: spacious, washer/dryer in room, a safe, kitchenette, 2 balconies, lots of floor to ceiling windows and 2 double beds plus a murphy bed and living room/dining area. Because of Covid, there was no room cleaning. The room is provided with a broom and when more towels are needed you can simply call down to the front desk and have them delivered to your door. Garbage and dirty towels can be bagged and set outside your door to be picked up. It was a very slick and efficient process.

I booked the condo online but then called and put in additional requests: washer/dryer in room, safe, higher floor and all of our requests were met. The lady I spoke with was very friendly and answered some other questions about the area that I had.

The resort is right on the beach, so you can take the elevator down to the ground level and be on the beach in 2 minutes. The North Myrtle Beach area felt safe compared to a lot of reviews I had read about closer to the Myrtle Beach downtown/boardwalk area.

Thank you, Avista, for making our vacation a great memory! I would definitely recommend and stay again if we're in the Myrtle Beach area again.

From the time we got to the resort, we had issues one after another. The room wasn't ready so they texted us when it was. Unfortunately they texted the wrong room number to us which caused stress. Our room smelled like fish when we walked into it, which was due to wet towels left in the bottom of the kitchen trash can. There was food in the sink and the kitchen counters were filthy. Obviously, the room wasn't cleaned as thoroughly as advertised. Their false advertising intices one to believe it is a safe resort. Not true! Our room was 128 which was a sub standard room. Washer and dryer didn't work. The toilet in the main area didn't turn off properly. Many other issues occurred which made our stay very disappointing. I called the General manager and he never returned my call. This resort wants your money but doesn't want to upgrade so that you get what you are paying for. All rooms have the same price for rental even if they are substandard. If the general manager responds to this review and didn't respond to my phone call then it is another example of how poorly this resort manages their customers. They have excuses for what has gone wrong but the customer ends up paying for the excuses. They advertise that the personnel wear masks and this is not true! The restaurant servers do not wear masks. The elevators had trash on the floor including dirty masks. I only saw one time, a gentleman disinfecting the outside pool chairs. The door in the master bath in Room 128 was peeling from the bottom up. The door to the balcony didn't open until you put all your weight behind it. The refrigerator was old and.had condensation all week so that our food was always wet and the vegetable bin had a puddle of water. The front desk people were pleasant but had an excuse for everything that went wrong in Room 128. This was not the vacation I was expecting. In a previous previous review, the general manager indicated that he didn't understand the comments about the Covid safety in the resort. The website for the resort says one thing and in reality, it isn't true. Personnel do not wear masks in high traffic areas and the place is not clean and sanitized. We were told that the resort was short staffed as an excuse for not having proper services. Since there wasn't enough personnel to provide the proper services for the customers, the customers shouldn't have had to pay the same fee for what is expected when there is sufficient personnel to provide proper services to the rooms.Consequently, I will not return to this resort and I will not have good words about it to anyone that asks me about my vacation to Avista resort.

MY apologies and please know you had talked with two a mangers who attempted to resolve your issues but I did not get a request you wish to speak with me as well as we believed we had resolved your issues to the best of our abilities. Staffing is not an issue for our COVID procedures we are being careful and limiting guests and employee interaction and we have been advised and trying to limit every ones interaction while allowing as many guests as we can to enjoy their stay with us. I do apologize your stay was not up to your nor our expectations and we could not resolve everyone while you stayed with us.

When looking online for a place to stay in North Myrtle Beach for a long weekend, Avista resort appeared to be at the top of the ratings and reviews, so my husband and I felt confident booking to stay at Avista. We booked a one bedroom condo, when making the reservations the receptionist assured us that our room would be ocean view. We were disappointed upon arrival to discover that the bedroom in all one bedroom condos have no windows, poor lighting, and is in the back of the condo. There is a small porch off the living room area that you can see the pool and ocean. The condo was clean, however, the seal to toilet was loose so it rocked when you sat on it. Although we didn't need to use the washing machine, I will note that there was no dryer in the room. One of the nice features available at Avista is the DVD rental system in which you can check out movies from a kiosk for no additional charge. Also, the restaurant had decent food and all the staff at the resort was very friendly.
Another disappointment in our stay was the parking garage for guests. It's located across the street and is very difficult to maneuver. The deck is very tight, only enough room for one car to pass which made it challenging when another car is trying to enter or exit. The spots are extremely tight and there is no room to turn around (we drive a sedan). Additionally, it appears the stairwell is not well maintained as it is poorly lit and dirty.
Overall, our stay was fine and the room was clean but for the prices they charge I would recommend going elsewhere for a better value.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment and understand not getting what you expect is disheartening. I do want you to know that form most all hotels when describing a ocean view or ocean front condo or Hotel it is not form the bedroom but simply where your view is located. From the living room and from the balcony you have an ocean view. These units also have a queen size Murphy bed just in case you want to wake up to the view. We do appreciate to positive comments about our staff and assure you we will continue to do our best to keep t the property, including all stairwells better cleaned as we do pride ourselves is the properties cleanliness. Thank you fro the time you took to write review. Best Regards,

We were suppose to stay two night but left after only the first. The stay was extremely bad. We couldn't even sit on our balcony without being overcome by the smell of pot. We will never stay at this location again. Also the hand sanitizer stations in some of your elevators were empty. Barely anyone was practicing social distancing. I cannot tell how disappointed we were. I believe what this facility says on their website about being clean and adherent to being compliant with CDC guidelines is a misrepresentation of reality. I will be escalating our terrible experience up the management chain.

We are certainly sorry to hear that we had guests here who who disrespectful to others and smoked in their units and on their balconies. We do try and monitor this but need to hear from out guests right away if this is happening. I also want to apologize that we did not keep our sanitizers in the elevators filled quickly enough. We know these are high use areas and apologize we did not respond as required. While we cannot take any action if our guest decide to not use proper distancing we have placed signage everywhere to remind them and appreciate you were doing your best.

Quality of furniture not good at all, just worn out. We could feel springs through the furniture, actually bought a board but it didn't help.

Stove was very old and didn't work properly. Bedding very cheap. Cutlery and everything subpar and cheap. Hallways smelt terrible.

Front desk and maintenance doing best they can with limited support. Managements response was they don't own units and up to owner to do repairs.

Resort has three levels, gold being the best. We were in a gold so can't imagine the other two levels.

Washer dryer worked great once we unclogged the dispenser.

Take a look at picture of hot tub, green.

We travel about 70+ days a year and this is our worst experience in many years.

Definitely will not stay at any of the resorts they manage.

I am sorry to hear you are so unhappy. I did meet with you both and though the color of the sofa was not up to your stay you indicted for a week everything was fine but for a month is was not as stocked as you like, which makes sense as most guests stay less than a week and the Avista like most all hotels are set up for short week or less stays. I asked if we brought you what you needed and you said they had but that we did not have all you wanted originally. We also showed you different layouts as we indicated we have many styles of one bedrooms and as Condo's many do have the owners taste in decorating but the unit you stayed had all the amenities. I see by the review you were much more unhappy than it seemed when we met and I assume it was because we could not move you three times during your stay, as requested, because you had a monthly rate and we cannot accommodate that from an accounting perspective but we did try and apologize it was not enough.

We made a last minute reservation and stayed at the Avista for a long weekend. The 1 bedroom condo was impeccably clean. We had plenty of bath towels. The condo included a galley kitchen with a full fridge and microwave. The oceanfront view was great. Front desk staff and the sweet man in the G level concierge/parking area were friendly and always willing to help. There are two pool bars and we ordered burgers for lunch one day which were good. Beach access is easy with a convenient area to rinse off the sand with good water pressure. We have stayed at other hotels in the MB area and were impressed with the Avista. The Avista is walking distance to the North Myrtle Beach Main Street area with restaurants and ice cream, and it's a short drive to Highway 17.

My family and I decided to do something different for this thanksgiving. We booked this resort and was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. Social distance signs were posted every where, hand sanitizer stations were place in the elevators. We asked to be on a higher floor which was accommodated. Very spacious layout of the room. The staff was very courteous and very much helpful from the young lady who checked us in to the young man Jeffery Barbour who helped unload my truck and bringing our luggage to our room. I will definitely recommend this location to others and I will be back to visit.

We went in February and the beaches were empty and the water was cold. September is a lot warmer and most kids are back in school so it is not as bad as july and august.

I am not familiar with what autism friendly would encompass. I can only say that it is a family place. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Its busy at peak times in the pool area and on the beach. If your family member cant do crowds and moderate noise then its probably not a fit for the busiest times. Off season i would say is ok. I cant say enough about the great staff there. Call them and see what they have to say. You know the questions to ask God Bless
