Before you read any further, if you're planning to visit Havelock Island and rooms are available in this resort just book them immediately. The campus is large the resort has a private beach that is clean and very much natural. The waters are extremely clear like most of Havelock. Kala Patthar beach is extremely close and the most beautiful and absolutely heavenly Radhanagar beach is on the opposite side of the island but easily accessible by a vehicle. They do have a functioning restaurant where taste is alright, nothing too great but you won't find 5 star like food anywhere on the island.
Each room is a small separate villa with a small patio on the front which offers a great view of the ocean. The rooms are clean, air conditioned with geysers, what you'd expect from a well maintained government resort. There is no room service and you have to walk to the restaurant which I didn't mind at any time because of the beautiful pathways.
It is extremely peaceful and soothing to take a walk along the pathways in the evening listening to the sound of the ocean.

There are multiple small restaurants close by at walking distance of which I'd suggest to try the Anju Coco and Irani Café. Do stay away from the Fat Martin café that is quite overpriced with underwhelming taste and infested with mosquitoes. There is also a private laundry service at walking distance, they have reasonable rates and comes handy for the water and sand laden clothes from the beaches. There is also a 2 wheeler rental service just outside the main gate and they also have a private agency that offers scuba diving though you can choose any other as they all I believe take you to Nemo beach for it.

Everything considered this the absolute best most value for money resort on Havelock Island and I'd recommend this to anyone friends/family/couples travelling to the island.

It's a Big Govt. run property with a long almost private, calm beach. Deluxe rooms we stayed in were big enough for a family with large window panes giving you a view of the gardens and sea from your bed itself. You generally don't get rooms at this size. The bed and pillow were basic with the bedsheets even having some holes but were neat. Maintenance is a issue with all properties in Andaman wherein help is not available immediatley. Though there were insects in Balcony, ants would immediately come in for food, but they were harmless. Afterall, you are almost in the Jungle, amidst Natural Greenery. The beach area in the afternoon becomes like a Pool with shallow water for long distance and light waves. You can enjoy swimming as you were swimming in a Pool. Our Rooms 201 and 202 were just next to reception and we could get wifi even in our rooms. Anyhow, Airtel had good connectivity there and we did not face any issue with internet. Food at restaurant was expensive in comparison to nearby eateries but justify the service, chilled airconditioning and ambience of the restaurant. Breakfast was very basic - Bread, boiled egg, 1 south indian dish(idly/utapam/sevai), 1 north indian dish ( Poori sabji or Chhola Batura). They could have atleast added live Dosa to it. The quality of the food was satisfactory. Service at the restaurant was good and even the housekeeping staff were available when required. They give you as many refills of RO water you want . If you are a family of 4 , you can book their E - car at reasonable rates from the counter. Pravin at the reception was Proficient at his work and helpful. Be careful with their Shower located outside. The Door frame is too low and I had a very bad hit on my forehead on the first day itself.

Our room was large enough with an enchanting view of the sea. All the cottages are on stilts but I think the rooms on the second storey have a better view of the sea and the garden. From the bed one can watch the tides coming in through the bay windows. On a sunny day, the air-conditioned bar, with its view of the sea, is the best place to relax for those who hate the sun. The food is good but only buffet is offered for lunch and dinner and there is no provision for any al a carte menu. There are smaller clean restaurants outside the hotel where one can have a meal of one's choice. The free breakfast is sumptuous. While we were there, there was ebb tide during sunrise. The private beach is quiet and the resort complex has clean well kept gardens and paths for morning and evening walks. The leaning palm trees and the mahua trees provide shade on the paths. Birding and owling is possible for trained birders. Wifi is available only at the reception. Mobile connectivity is very poor and hence it is easier to relax.

I visited dolphin resort in the peak time that is in December 2019. I expected little more but it was little disappointing.Better to put Pros and Cons for Easy understanding

Pros :
1. Location of resort is fabulous huge property with beautiful beach.
2. You can get scooty Next to that Resort itself with 400Rs per day price.
3. All the famous Restaurants ,bars are just next to dolphin
4. Kalapathar beach is very near to dolphin resort.
5. Dolphin is having bar ..With premium beers..don't expect too much no room service.
6. Big rooms

Cons:
1. Average Room, My bathroom Tap came in my hand on first use.
2. Room wall Colours is big no..yellowish colour if you stayed in the room more then 8 hrs damn you will feel like in jail.
3. My room walls were decorated by children's who stayed before me in that room with pencil marks here and there.
4. Old people will feel difficult to climb stairs .. while booking ask them to allocate you ground floor.

That's it for cons. We didn't expected much from this resort ,as most of the times we were out.
So my suggestion in Average Money the rooms they are providing is ok as the property is beautiful. Like we were out most of the time and only in night for sleep we were there..If it is gonna be same case for you go ahead book keeping in mind 0 expectations from resort..
Cheers
Vivek

I stayed here for one night with my friends though the resort located in a good location nearest to beach & port but the hotel lacks from basic amenities.

Good:
Breakfast was fine, there was A/C in the room, Rooms are nice, big and airy and most of the staff is very polite..

Bad:
First, the internet was horrendous - couldn't even connect!! if get only available in the reception area .
Bathrooms need maintenance and an update. Dear staffs suggest your Bose keep 1 small toothpaste at least in the bathroom and u can charge extra for it ( i went 4 km for buying dental kits in the early morning @5.30am , most of the shops has closed in that time ,reception people told me that they don't have any items even we ready to pay extra for it ) , No shampoo inside and soaps size like a coin not sufficient even 1 person too .

No sanitizer and face mask even in this pandemic situations .

"The hotel has lots of potentials and I will recommend it to anyone but I hope the hygiene issues will be looked at by the Management."Would rate it as an average stay. Thanks.

Dolphin resort is government owned resort and like most of the government properties it's got the best sea view in entire Havelock.
A sprawling resort with almost a km long sea front along govindnagar Beach. This beach is a mangrove beach and not ideal for getting into sea. Dolphin is probably only resort in havelock where you can see the sea from the room..sea itself is pristine blue and looks very beautiful. This sprawling property has so much greenery with giant trees it gives a feeling of being in a botanical garden.
Rooms are spacious with big glass bay windows and balcony.. Maintenance is not great and has some seepage issues . There's provision of making tea and coffee in rooms though milk pouches are not provided due to ban on small plastic pouches. Also the resort refills filtered water in bottles provided to reduce in an effort to reduce plastics. There's a restaurant and sea facing bar . Buffet breakfast is basic but decent for a moderately priced resort..Food otherwise is also reasonably priced and tasty. No room service is available. House keeping service etc is prompt and staff is helpful and courteous. We liked our stay in the resort and waking upto the view of sea in the room which no resort in havelock offers . Since the resort is huge there is an idyllic feeling .
Great place to enjoy few leisurely days without creating a big hole in pocket

Dolphin offers the best of place, restaurant, ambience, rooms and access to the beach. The rooms are large with big glass windows to allow you a perfect scene and sunrise. The beach is connected to the property and one can easy go swim and come back to their rooms. The property is surrounded by good greenery and one can enjoy his walks. Only the reception has Wifi facility which is very whimsical and limited to that area.
The Bar and food are good and the morning breakfast buffet is sumptuous. A memorable stay indeed.

This resort has great location with a beautiful beach (one of the best I have seen so far). Lot of open and green space. Room size is pretty good, bathrooms neat and clean, friendly front desk. The only thing that is holding them from becoming the best resort is their food. Even though they are surronded by sea, the restaurant did not have fish, (not even chicken), limited menu, no drinks were available at the time we visited as some stock audit was going on. The pricing of food was pretty high with quality being very low. They could not cook as basic as dal tadka also properly. The breakfast menu was also very limited.

Recommendation: Book your outdoor activity and scooter through hotel. We booked scuba diving through hotel and took scooter from the taxi guy who dropped us to the hotel. The scuba diving experience was excellent. The scooters were in very bad condition.

one of the best govt maintained properties with spacious rooms. Stayed in a deluxe duplex with a view of the sea, beach was awesome with a direct view of Sunrise, strategically located with a number of restaurants at walking distance. Cons: no internet facility (intermittent internet at the reception area), no room service, restaurant only provides buffet for dinner (lunch is Ala Carte),

Almost 2 months or so... keep checking on regular basis.. i would also suggest visit cleartrip.. as to my knowledge that is the only 3rd part online agent that provides booking apart from Tourism office..... As of today.. bookings are open till 30 Sept... so calculate likewise and keep checking every 2/3 days at least..

Hi, Dolfin resort booking is open round the year.. Please visit ANIIDCO website or one of their partner websites like Cleartrip.. However.. December is the peakest time and there are few chances that you will get room there.. Or at the most talk to one travel agent located in Andaman who can get the booking done.. otherwise almost impossible..
