Resort is very nice and the service is wonderful. Carlos at the pool was great and even gave us a special shot! Beautiful location. Very quiet atmosphere. We had a two bedroom and were surprised with the third bathroom which was really helpful.

This beautiful resort is set on the North side of the Bay of Banderas along a long wide sandy beach that seems to stretch for a few miles with a beautiful view to the mountains across the Bay. The slope of the beach is gentle and water is clear. . Housekeeping was wonderful as was the turn-down service in the evening of each day. Our main floor suite was large and quiet and the king size bed was very comfortable.. The suite had 2 bathrooms and we particularly enjoyed the rain shower and large balcony overlooking a garden of Birds of Paradise and a small ocean view. We found all staff, from check-in to check out and everywhere in between particularly friendly and attentive to our wants and needs. Some of the most engaging were Ulises, Moises, speedy Roberto, Gabriel, Dulio, Gerardo, Ivan and Saul by the pool and on the beach as well as Olbert and Christopher who seemed to be everywhere. Ivan at the front desk was always accommodating when assistance was required. The buffet serves breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. At the breakfast buffet each morning, Sonya made wonderful smoothies and 3 wonderful, smiling ladies whose names I didn't get prepared eggs however we wanted. Lilbeth was so personable and seemed to be working all day every day. The breakfast fare at Essence, under the watchful eye of personable Alberto, was also enjoyable. Actually, we enjoyed the food, beverages and service at all of the restaurants on the resort but our personal favourite was the large buffet which featured themes most nights (Mexican night, Italian night, etc.). From the beach or from the buffet under the big palapa, we were able to watch Humpback whales cavort in the Bay and this happened every day. When getting set to leave, we happened to come upon a meeting of the outside servers. They stopped their meeting so each of them could personally accept our gratitude and wish us a safe trip home. For the most part, all of the resort, except the beach itself is accessible. To get to the beach one has to be able to use the stairs. Needless to say, we will be back.

This is a relative new resort (open late 2019), and is still learning it's way. We stayed here for 7 days/nights on a golf excursion. The resort is beautiful with fantastic views. Our room was very nice with a Southern view of the bay - overlooking the pool area. However there were a few issues. The shower had not safety bars or bench - necessary for older clients. Also the walkway lights at night are low to the ground and shine in your eyes when walking. The service is generally very good, but some training is needed to improve response times. Waiting 30 minutes for a food order is too long. The location of the resort is remote, so if you wish to go into town, you need a taxi and expect to pay $$$. A shuttle service would be a great addition.

This is our second time staying here with our family. The beach and ocean views are incredible (we must've seen close to 30 whales over the course of our stay) and our boys love the pools. We frequented the fitness centre which was very well kept and offered a variety of machines and equipment. Best of all, the staff here is so friendly and helpful. The concierge in particular were so awesome in helping us arrange transportation (from booking taxis to a driver to take us to nearby towns to the public transit schedules--Leo and Jesus were super!) and answering our questions about markets and restaurants to visit outside of the resort. If staying at the Marival, be sure to check out local towns Sayulita, La Cruz and Bucerias for amazing traditional meals, shopping and surfing.

My fiancée and i stayed at this propery for a couples vacation during November. We couldn’t be more happy with the beautiful amenities and quality of the resort. The staff was discerning in safety and always had face masks and hand sanitizer at the ready and there was no worries about distancing on this property with so many pools and locations to relax.
The staff were amazing! The yoga overlooking the ocean was exquisite. The food at the restaurant Divum was delicious and gorgeously prepared with the finest ingredients and super attentive service. I’ve not had better food at any other resort.
We did not bring children on this trip but clearly much attention is given to the kids club, family entertainment and hospitality.
Remote location, private white sand beaches with wonderful swimming beach for those looking to be in the ocean.
Can’t wait to book our next trip.

Initially, we were concerned about the Hotel having required sanitary measures due to this Pandemic. Upon arrival all these were cleared as all personnel were wearing face masks and constantly asked us to use alcohol gel to clean our hands. Check-in was done rapidly and efficiently, stepping into the room was another pleasant surprise as place had been sanitized completely (clean smell) and was spotless. All this allowed us to start enjoying our vacation (much needed due to lockdown). Hotel facilities are outstanding - restaurants (perfect serving portions and excellent variety), stores, spa, swimming pools and gym (who never allowed more than 4) - and everybody focused in trying to make you feel more comfortable and relaxed. In summary we really enjoyed our stay and would definitively return as time permits, the place is highly recommendable as it is a great option

Just returned from a week here and while the location and view are incredible the resort isn’t quite up to luxury standards. Internet service worked in about 10% of our room and for the price charged is a joke. Food was average at best in the buffet. Hot water was a luxury seldom enjoyed. The resort has many many steps, probably close to a km from reception down to the beach. The pools are nice but there could be more water related toys for kids, such as the old slides that were removed as part of the new construction to make way for VIP areas that sat unused for the entire time we were there. While the kids missed the water slides that used to be part of the old Rancho, they enjoyed the new kids club. Lupita kept them busy throughout the day and they couldn’t wait to go back the next day. She was definitely the shining star of our week there.

Just returned from a week at the marival armory with the ILT golf group. Well.... where do I start? Positives!!!! Beautiful beach with a nice swim beach. Gorgeous property. Fabulous infinity pool overlooking ocean. Just the right temp to hang out in. We had an ocean front room with a fabulous view but make sure you upgrade as I witness many people unhappily changing there room. Or looking at brick walls so keep in mind all rooms are not equal. Unfortunately the prime beach equipped with cabanas and private hot tubs were 100 dollars is per person. We splurged one day and two of our dearest friends came to say hello and were immediately bounced unless they too paid the 100 dollar per person charge. So alas, the whole week they sit there empty and frankly it’s lonely when your the only ones there. Very mismanaged as the big pool is without any chairs by 7 am. UNLESS you pay a pool guy and they will magically appear. We did this and it was fine but it’s a bit of a side business for the cabana boys! Food was ok but service in a sit down off menu area was a disaster. I tried it four times and all four times were painfully slow and the staff were overwhelmed and not trained.. that being said they sure did try. Just didn’t have the tools to succeed. Buffet food was decent and if your in a hurry to see a show I would highly recommend that option. We had a wonderful time with our golf group but I would not return.. we’ll let me restate this.. maybe in a couple years( its only opened 4 months). Once staff has been trained by the school of hard Knox things will hopefully improve. Hope this helps

After canceling 5 scheduled trips this year, our friend group finally decided to take a trip together (we'd been in a "bubble" during COVID, very careful and testing). Our stay here was amazing! Their weren't too many other people there, which was actually quite nice. We felt safe the entire time, as the staff were very diligent about wearing masks and cleaning the resort. The place is beautiful, immaculate. The service was great, though I'm sure they're not staffing as many employees as usual. The entertainment staff was the best. Sergio was our man! Pool Zumba is the best thing to make yourself feel less guilty about all the drinks and food during a resort stay. Also, shout out to Mario, Abril, Lesly and Candela. The bartenders and drinks were great. The food was pretty good - we had some really great dishes and some just so-so, but that's pretty subjective and we weren't bothered by it. This place is just gorgeous and it was a great resort for our first trip of 2020.

First let me preface this by reminding everyone that we traveled during a pandemic. We expected things to be a bit different but we were highly disappointed nonetheless.
Before I start,I want to give a shout out to some stellar people who work at the Marival Armory. Aaron, our server at the Insu Bar and Jesus, our pool server at the lower pool/beach. Aaron delivered service above and beyond any 5-star restaurant service and Jesus put in more work than seemed possible. Thank you Aaron and Jesus! You deserve a well earned raise!
The Marival Armony is located in a remote area. The property is stunning with amazing ocean views and beautiful landscaping. The infinity pool is gorgeous! The beach is white with soft sand and the ocean is a beautiful clear blue. The property is simply breathtaking! If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with no nightlife, entertainment, or excitement, this is the resort for you.
Housekeeping was wonderful. Our room was always very clean but as I sit here on the last day in our room, the ceiling gave way and water is gushing on the floor. Thankful to be leaving.
Service lacked to say the least. The resort was not properly staffed. We had long waits for food/drinks at the pool as there simply weren’t enough servers to reach all the guests. And there were few guests at the resort! It’s not the fault of the service staff as they were very friendly and worked very hard (too hard). They were set up to fail by their employer.
Let’s talk about food. This is the resort’s biggest problem. I don’t know what to say other than it was bad! The Divium served inedible food (Do not order the spare rib), the Essence was not much better, the Buffett lacked in almost every way. The Insu served average snack sized bar food. My husband is allergic to shellfish and had issues with some of the food at the Buffett despite having let wait staff know about the allergy. Scary for anyone suffering from an allergy. We recommend driving 30 minutes to Sayulita if you want delicious food.
Overall, the stay was disappointing. We paid top dollar for an average resort. We do not recommend this resort. If you want a great stay at a Marival Resort, stay at the Distinct Resort where Paco, Ernesto, and Felix will take great care of you.

To your questions…. The ‘all inclusive’ seems to change all the time. When we were there mid Jan to mid Feb we ‘heard’ it was $150 USpp per day. As we are timeshare owners who haven’t switched to all inclusive, we buy our own groceries and use the kitchen to cook, etc, that comes with the Rancho units.
There is a great little restaurant on the same beach Marival is located at. Just head south (left) as you walk onto the beach and is 5-10 minute walk to the ‘public’ entrance to Destiladeras Beach.
Our ‘fave’ restaurant off Marival property is in La Cruz, a 15 minute car ride south of the resort. (20 mins if you dare ride the bus!) It’s called ‘Tacos on the Street’. A bit tricky to find, but just a couple of blocks off the main highway into La Cruz. It only serves tacos, beer, spirits and a couple of desserts - but it’s a fun place, especially if you can get table on the street.

We didn't have a choice as the front desk transferred us to ROG saying he was going to discuss how the restaurants work and explain the resort facilities. And he did, until he end when he started down the "MEMBERSHIP" path. We quickly shut him down....first off, we had traveled for 7 hours and just wanted to relax and we were NOT interested. That was the one and only time we were bothered.
There are more places to choose from in the Punta de Mita area.
