This Comfort Inn smelled luxurious, but not luxurious! Stayed in a queen room plus pull-out sofa and the pull-out sofa was soft and uncomfortable. The room was clean and spacious, did not feel cramped. It had a desk, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, breakfast included (eggs, sausage, waffle, pastry, dry cereal, no oatmeal)
Great location, not too far off the highway. Nearby are convenience stores, gas station, various restaurants. We tried Milanu Tandòori Grill, it was fantastic.
Did not get a chance to use the gym.
Unfriendly staff, nonetheless it was a nice stay.

On checking in was told “Only government issued ID!” Offered my Canadian passport or health card. Was told ‘Only a drivers license will do.’ Receptionist was rude. As if I can produce a drivers license on demand. She looked at me as if it were my fault. Hotel policy! Now she had a’too bad for you lady!’ expression on her face. Another lady came out from the back and suddenly I was ok. Given a second floor room after asking for first floor because of our dog. “Hotel is full!” (9pm parking lot virtually empty). Our dog got stressed over the tiled stairs and refused to go up. From her desk the receptionist could see this. Suddenly a 1st floor room was available.

Was told on checkout the generally drivers license is the preferred ID .Also told that somewhere it is written in TINY print as policy. ’Tiny’ his word not mine. Never did find it. If they can notify you in bold print about the $250 precharge, they can in same bold print notify you of the ID issues. Extremely bad service! Also was told that the reason they do not like passport or health card photo ID as their staff should not have that info available to them! (think about that for a minute!).

Have traveled all over the world and never had an issue like this before. Won’t be using the Comfort Inn chain ever again!

If you have a pet..ok…otherwise go to the Ajax Hilton where we always get the best service available.

We booked this hotel for its convenience on the route between Toronto and Oshawa. There was lots of free parking. We did not try the breakfast; the tea in the room was all orange pekoe, different brands, and the coffee was adequate for our first morning. We could have asked for more, but housekeeping was only on request. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Sheets felt like polyester, and the pillows were lumpy, but we slept well enough. Some updating has been done, and we appreciated the laminate floors although they were dirty at the edges. Our room 103 was at the side exit, and the doors slammed at all hours - next time we would ask for a room farther down the hallway

Arrived with my husband and 12yo daughter who had a soccer game in the area. Reserved a room for $200. There was a big pile of fresh vomit in front of and on our room door. People partying, loud, walking around drunk, non-guests coming in and out. Hotel staff couldn't give me another room because they were overbooked (man beside my was given a room belonging to someone else and another man in the lobby also had vomit at his room). Staff were dismissive, didn't even offer to clean it up or do anything to try to make things better, or offer to help us find another place to stay. Simply said too bad and that it wasn't their fault. Didn't feel safe at all, my daughter was in tears in the lobby. Frantically had to call 10 hotels in the area at 11 pm from the parking lot to find the last room available anywhere for double the price.

Expedia rate was 350, ended up paying 450 after unnecessary fees were added on the spot.
Room was damp and smelled like wet dog
Lighting was old and yellow
Half of the doors didn’t work
Carpet was damp from moisture in the room
TV was maybe 32 inches and remote barely worked.
Such a waste of money! I’ll never stay here again. I’d rather camp on the ground with no running water and no electricity than stay here ever again.

One of my worst stays in a hotel!
There was a Very noisy air conditioner
The room was very smelly 🤢 (a mix of wet dog and cigarette).
Coffee offered as a perk was cold and old.
The room was poorly clean, the furniture is old and show wear.
The hotel is very Noisy during the night 😤

Showed up mid day friday.
Staff was able to prioritize their cleaning to get us in asap.

In the lobby I met the GM Brigitte who I asked a few questions about getting around. Go train to Toronto, the zoo stuff like this.

As we were settling i got a call from the front desk. They had called around to get the price of parking/ travel time/ cab prices and layed out exactly what are cheapest and most efficient routes would be on everything we spoke about

Amazing

If there was a zero that would be the rating. Disgusting hotel. Bed bugs x 3 rooms absolutely filthy, the beds hard, furniture wrecked, pot and perfume drenched hallways. Ladies of the night in and out. Terrible customer service and cleaning crew yelling. Just terrible……

Very dated room, yellow pillows under the pillow cases, so noisy unbelievable (right next to highway), old and outdated room that smelt musty, hair in the shower, old blankets in cupboard, beds not comfortable at all and lastly overcrowed dining room at breakfast. Room felt old and not clean. Very disappointing. Will not return.

Nice clean motel. It is what it is. 3 star. Very good breakfast. No coffee maker in the room. Comfortable bed. Good staff. Close to the 401 and Durham region. Lots of outdoor parking. Close to malls and coffee shops.
