The pyramid at Luxor Resort in Las Vegas, with its beam of light, provides a striking visual even on the overtly glamorous Las Vegas Strip. One of the most recognizable structures in Las Vegas, the 30-story pyramid – an architectural wonder – invites curiosity, while the inside rewards visitors with equal parts excitement, mystery and intrigue.

Many guests at the Luxor Hotel & Casino have expressed disappointment in the hotel's atmosphere, finding it outdated with complaints about the decor and noisy environment. Opinions on its location are divided; some find it convenient, while others feel it's too removed from the strip's excitement. While certain amenities like comfortable beds are appreciated, the hotel's value is often questioned due to hidden fees and the condition of facilities. Service and cleanliness issues are frequently mentioned, with inconsistent room upkeep and long wait times marring the experience. Noise from various sources also detracts from the comfort of the rooms, which are often criticized for being antiquated and poorly maintained.

Definitely is not pet friendly or would not charge $50 per night! I could see a $100 holding fee until the Room was clean to make sure your dog didn't make messes.
Don't like finding costs that were not clear on expedia or Luxor sites. $24 night to park there was way too much! I was told there was free parking. That policy changed due to building of a stadium by MGM.
Just be upfront with the alacart fees then buyer beware!
Staff was great except bell services room workers.
I probably will not go again.

This hotel was booked as part of a total holiday deal.
It is well situated towards one end of the famous Strip, and we found it to be really very good.
Our room was an ‘upgrade’ we were advised on booking in. The reception staff were extremely busy but at the same time provided us with the information we needed and were very friendly. The room was a good size and comfortably furnished with two queen sized beds which provided us with the comfort of a good sleep after a tiring journey.
Being on the Strip meant that there was plenty of choice for eating and other recreations as needed. Vegas is a real fun place to visit for a few days as part of a bigger holiday when travelling a distance. All in all we enjoyed our stay there. Travelling to and from the airport was no problem with shuttles readily available at fairly reasonable costs

In February 2020 my family traveled to Las Vegas to see my son get married. He recommended the Luxor so that is where we stayed. Like most of the hotels on the infamous "Strip" the pyramid shaped Luxor is enormous. Just dragging our luggage from the self park area across the casino floor to the registration desk was exhausting. My advice-Register first and then get your luggage or drive around to the front and use the bellman to take your luggage to your room.
The room we stayed in on the 21st floor was nice and clean and fairly roomy, but as about as far away from the elevator as you can get.21017. The oddest thing about the room is that there is no closet. There is a valet hanging bar, but your clothes are right out there for everyone to see. Another note, there is no in- room coffee service or mini-fridge. I'm finding this to be the case more and more so (as a serious coffee drinker) I came prepared with my own mug, an immersion heater and Folgers coffee bags (like tea bags). My daughter was pleased to find that Starbucks has 2 locations at the Luxor. One is near the 3A and B Elevators on the first floor and the other is by the wedding chapel.and food court.
We ate one brunch at the Buffet and another at the Pyramid Cafe. I never saw either restaurant without a line, but they moved quickly and the service was as good as you will find anywhere. My hat is off to the wait staff at all of the restaurants.
Parking is fairly simple. Your room key acts as your parking ticket and it is good for 24 hours so even if you check out at 11 you can park at any of the MGM properties for the rest of the day. I thought that worked quite well. My son is active military so his parking was free.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Luxor, Las Vegas and we sincerely hope we get a chance to return soon as there is so much more we want to see.

Everything from the Vip Lounge Service, Housekeeping, Engineer Service, Limo Drivers to the Casino/Hotel Front Desk Representatives were truly Outstanding! The Suite was clean, the temperature was great and the beds and other furniture were comfortable. We loved all the plump pillows as well. When we called about an issue with the television volume it was fixed within the hour. Check in was a breeze and I checked out utilizing the television without any issues and dropped out room keys into the drop box in the elevator lobby. Location for us was not an issue as we used the tram for other strip locations and called an Uber and spent a day downtown. I really had nothing to complain about.

I'm rating it 5/5 on the hotel it is, i.e 4 star Vegas strip hotel. Not a 5 star.
Stayed here for a week in January. It was exactly what I a) wanted and b) expected.
Having visited the casino and exhibit from a previous visit, I had some familiarity with the hotel, so was happy to book here. It is a great location, right on the strip at the south end. You can walk directly through to the Mandalay and Excalibur without stepping outside, which means you also have those 2 hotels at your easy disposal. Another benefit (at least staying in the actual pyramid, although its going to be pretty similar in the towers) is the setup of the hotel means that it isnt a 20 minute walk from reception/strip to your room, unlike some of the other super size hotels on the strip. And the hotel atrium is unlike anything I have encountered anywhere else. The sheer size is something to be seen and experienced.
The numerous bars/restaurants/food courts and casino floor were all well presented and exactly like you would expect for the hotel that it is.
Playing the electronic games at the bars gets you comp drinks if you put in at least $10, which is better than some of the other biggies (i.e. MGM Grand).
All staff encountered were friendly and helpful and the room size (2 Queens) was excellent and was cleaned daily to a high standard. No coffee machine in the room, but where does on the strip? And the 74 different Starbucks/coffee shops on site help with the caffeine requirements.
All in all, I wouldn't hesitate staying here again

The hotel needs to be updated. There is poor lighting in the rooms, no full-length mirror, no working phone, no humidifier, bed was made with a sheet and a blanket—no duvet. Room smelled of cooking oil because it was directly above the food court, Windows to outside are filthy. Towels were hung “to conserve resources” but were replaced new everyday.

I ate twice at Diabolo’s Cantina. The food was very good but I was dining solo and it wasn’t the most welcoming experience. Both times they said they could seat me at the bar; when I asked for a table they said they would see what they could do despite the restaurant being less than half full. After a 5 minute waiver they accommodated. On one occasion I was still eating when the sever brought the credit card machine to settle-up.

There are much better properties on the strip; I won’t be returning (and the diagonal elevators will make you motion sick).

We stayed in a pyramid room. Note that they will charge you $45 in resort fees and a $50 security deposit on top of the base price, which really feels laughable when you walk into the room and the dank, humid air slaps you in the face. It felt like 25 years of sweat and farts built up in that room, and with no way to crack a window or ventilate in any way, you're left to suffer all night. The thick air and smell gave me a headache almost immediately. When I said I would take a shower my fiance reacted in horror, "you're going to get wet in here?! You'll never dry!" The decor inside the hotel is old and cheesy. For a little bit more money you can get a much nicer stay, it feels more on par with a $30/night motel. The hotel location is also a bit removed from the main area of the strip, I recommend something more centrally located.

We stayed at Luxor for 5 nights at the end of our 2 week trip to America. And we had high expectations good atmosphere loads of fun. We booked a premium tower room. When checking in there were signs for refurbished room premium and suite. So we upgraded to a suite. It was like travelling back to the 80’s not good. There was a settee with three different fabrics, tassels, pale pink looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned since they bought it. Bathroom big but dated. Chipped furnishings in various places in the bathroom and the vanity mirror was falling off the wall. More problems were found each day, making that part of the holiday less enjoyable. The buffet was disgusting yet if you go to Excalibur the adjoining hotel the buffet was lovely. Recommendations eat at any other buffet!!! Diablos cantina which is a restaurant at the hotel was lovely, amazing food. Bit pricey.
Pool was lovely, unfortunately when we went only one pool was up and running. Very pricey to drink by the pool. If you wanted a nicer bed it cost a small fortune. Your paying for the bed and towels that’s it. You can only eat or drink food from the Luxor and the pool bar is pricey, one way we got around this was by buying from the shop inside the Luxor which was cheap not by much but better than nothing and bringing it in. Still classed as Luxor food and drink technically.
When leaving we complained about the state of the room how for a refurbished room it was very dated. We then got told that the room we stayed in only the carpet and wall paper was changed. However if we stayed in the room we initially paid for it had a full refurb including furnish. I would like to point out no one told us this when we checked in, otherwise we wouldn’t have upgraded. The argument on check out was well it’s a bigger room, so we paid 50$ a night extra (that’s without the extra taxes they add) for a refurbished bigger room that hadn’t been refurbished at all! When complaining all the manager would say to us is you are paying for the bigger square foot. Strangely enough would rather had the smaller room that had been refurbished.
We did receive a small amount of money back, but not worth it considering we got a downgrade rather than an upgrade. While we were there we tried to stay away from the room as much as possible due to this.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the luxor for 3 nights. When we arrived the email confirmation stated we would be able to check in through the app and use Mobile keys on our phone. The parking garage is a long walk to get to the hotel and even longer to get to the correct elevator. With all of our luggage, we get to our room and the app doesn't work. After a few minutes of trying to get it to work we decide just to go to the hotel registration desk which is another long distance from the elevator especially having all of our luggage. Once we do that we were instructed to get our keys from a little kiosk. We then go back to our room for the second time. Once we get there I notice a "privacy please" sign on the door which was not there before. My boyfriend knocks and opens the door and there is a man inside! Luckily for us he was very nice and told us he just checked in and the hotel must have given us the same hotel room. So we walk back down again to hotel registration where it takes the staff over an hour and a half to figure out what happened and inform us they will have to cancel and re book the reservation. We were already annoyed at this point since we have been at the hotel for over 2 hours and have not been accommodated. My boyfriend thinks it's best to stay somewhere else but I was afraid the rates would be a lot higher if we booked on the same day. He asks the staff of it would be possible to just stay 1 night instead and the staff tells us that the rates would be higher and that they could not honor the rate we originally booked with. We just keep our original booking. Once we finally get to our room we realize there is no deadbolt on the door. I think if the Luxor is going to be double booking rooms the should at least put a deadbolt on the door but that's just me. The shower did not have a curtain or a door just half of a glass wall leaving the shower open so that water can splash all over the floor. The next day room service did not clean our room or give us new towels even though we had to use one to clean up all of the water from the shower. While we were getting ready to leave, room service comes in the door, with our privacy sign on the door and scaring my boyfriend who was coming out of the bathroom half dressed, asking if we checked out when the hotel told us check out wasn't for another 1/2 hour. The food options were dismal and the parking garage and elevators were scary to say the least. The staff was rude. There was no refrigerator or coffee machine in the room. I definitely will not be staying at the Luxor again as I can't think of a single good thing to say about our stay here.

Originally booked suite was filthy, we found used cups, dirty counters/tables, used soap in the shower, used towels and no toiletries in the room. A comparable room wasn't available so we were forced to wait for a maid or move to a smaller room, we choose to move to a different room as it was late when we got in and didn't feel like waiting for the entire room to be cleaned. Hotel staff didn't offer any empathy to our situation knowing we were traveling with young kids and made it seem like it was an issue we were bringing up the issues to them.

You’ll have a higher chance of a lower floor room if you book a pyramid room (given the shape, there are more rooms on the lower floors than on the higher floors). That said, front desk folks are generally very accommodating as long as there’s something available that meets your needs. Check in early in the day may also help with your request.
