Nestled in a central location near popular attractions, the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort is applauded for its convenience, though guests have called out traffic and shuttle issues. While the friendly staff receives commendations, the value proposition is tarnished by unexpected fees, and reviewers warn about the need for room renovations and noise disruptions. The pool and fitness center are highlights, yet the ambiance of the hotel is marred by an outdated feel, with mixed feelings on cleanliness and maintenance.

You get what you pay for. I took my son to Disney over spring break, 2021 and didn’t have it in me to spend $350 per night for a room on Disney property we would only shower and sleep. A work colleague stayed here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I made my reservations about two months in advance and prepaid. I started getting very nervous as I only saw very bad reviews, dirty, moldy, things not working and thought, what have I done. We checked in around 1:30pm and our room was ready. We didn’t have one that looked over the pool. They did inform me that there would be no housekeeping services due to COVID but if there was anything we needed, to call the front desk. I did know that the restaurants were closed as they didn’t want people to gather. I think they are doing themselves a dis-service as Florida restaurants opened back up in May, 2020 and you are now able to eat inside - 100% capacity. As I was walking to our room, I was literally saying to myself, ‘don’t be dirty, don’t be dirty.’ When I opened the door, I was happily surprised, the room was clean, sheets clean, bathroom clean and no apparent mold or marks on the carpet. The AC worked and it was quiet. The unit said it worked on the unit on the wall, which actually didn’t work, but was able to change the temp on the AC unit directly. It worked just fine and room was cool. I was very relieved. It is tired, I found a few outlets that didn’t work and after 20 or 30 years of visitors, it has taken its toll. I found ourselves in need of sheets needing to be changed and informed the front desk before our departure to the park and upon our return later that afternoon, the room had been cleaned, more than I even asked for. There was some noise in the hallway our last two nights. Appeared to be a larger family that checked in and they were moving from room to room, but it wasn’t too much of an imposition. I also recommend using their shuttle (not complimentary as stated on their website) BTS. The driver is pleasant and the round trip cost is less than you would pay for Uber or Lyft. He is flexible and when we were his only ride in the morning, he would take us to the park directly vs having to go to Magic Kingdom and then navigate the bus situation to the other parks. Overall, if you don’t want to pay the Disney hotel outrageous prices, this is a decent hotel to choose.

My daughter asked me to go to Disney World spur of the moment. So I started to Google info on hotels, the reviews and price caught my attention along with it being a Sheraton. The staff has treated my daughter and I like gold. Any tips they have about Seaworld and Disney they helped us with. They treat these little kids with such happiness, respect, empathy, patience. I could go on and on and on just about the staff. Thank you. There is a rental car company inside the hotel called SIXT that I was unaware of so, can’t tell you anything about that. The pool area has 2 pools 0-3 ft with volleyball/Basketball kids water attractions and 3-6 ft pool with a water slide. 2 hot tubes that seat 11 people each. 27 Palms Bar with Food. The laundry area is nice BUT bring detergent/dryer sheets you are able to use credit/debit 3.50 per load each washer and dryer. Didn’t go to the gym but looks like you can get your vacation workout in. Is walking distance from gas stations/ pharmacies/ tons of eateries/ Orlando prime Outlet shopping mall/ Minutes from Seaworld and Disney attractions. Not too forget there is a Chick Fil A 1/2 mile away. Parking lot is secure/ Doors and Elevators are secure with room key card. Overall I would come back.

The hotel was beautiful & EXTREMELY CLEAN and well taken care of. When we first walked into our room, it just felt clean, smelled clean and had a very relaxing feel. Being on the 2nd floor we didn't have a outdoor balcony and our view was blocked by the slide so that wasn't the greatest but the room itself was great. I didn't like that we weren't informed breakfast was almost $19 per adult and $10 per child when it wasn't included in our package - which had no mention of this when we booked the room. I also didn't like finding out I wouldn't get my deposit back when I checked out due to parking and ADDITIONAL resort fees. I just wish I would've been told these things at check in..I asked what the deposit was for when I checked in and wasn't told it was to cover these fees so I expected to get that back. Again this is a fantastic facility when it came to our actual stay and we were going to come back and bring our little ones to have a family trip here since there's so many fun things included at the hotel, but with all these unknown additional fees, I think we will be staying elsewhere. It's a shame because we did really enjoy this hotel.

Our stay was disappointing. Both restaurants were closed but our stay included at $50 restaurant credit which we were unable to use. The rooms are outdated, the outside of the building looked dirty and the lobby was noticeably not very clean also. Overall, the place just seemed very sad, empty and unattended to.

- When we arrived, our room was dirty (crumbs all over the floor, dirty napkins, a straw, and a wrapper were on the ground). We requested a new room, which was cleaner but still felt like it wasn’t cleaned to normal standards, let alone COVID standards. We left for the day and when we arrived back at 2 am, our room key was deactivated. We had to go to the front desk to get new keys. After that, on our way up to the room, we had a gross experience in the elevator. My boyfriend actually slipped and fell in a puddle of PUKE... splattered all over the corner of the elevator. How is someone not cleaning/ monitoring these common areas at all times? Arriving back in the room, our toilet clogged twice. It did fix itself after a few flushes but the stress of clogging the toilet on the first use was annoying. The sheets did seem clean and the bed was comfy. We got woken up at 8am by construction going on above us. The construction went on all morning.
Again, the lobby was also not very clean. Things like crumbs and stains everywhere, the issue with the elevator, at one point, there was actually a dirty/ used makeup brush sitting on the front desk for hours. I just don’t understand how the hotel employees aren’t noticing these things and making the place look more presentable. Upon check out, I asked for a refund of the resort fee because we were unable to use the amenities. They did refund us the $26 fee which was cooperative and nice but truly I think we should have been refunded much more. You do not allow a guest to check into a dirty room, have to fuss with reactivating room keys, and slip in puke in your disgusting lobby without offering them some sorta consolation.

The pool did look awesome, though we were unable to use it because of the weather. It’s a good location if you’re going to Disney but not Downtown. Being dog friendly w/ no fee is a plus. The front desk agents were polite and helpful in solving our issues but like I said, I think we probably should have been accommodated to even more, considering the inconvenience and grossness of our stay but that’s a corporate issue. Marriott should be doing better. Would not recommend.

Not at all happy with this place. Came down for a work conference. At check in, no luggage cart and no one offered to help find one. Told the front desk I would pay cash at the end of my stay...then got a ding on my credit card they had charged me $675. I called the front desk and asked what that charge was and she said for the room. I told her that I had already told someone that I was going to pay cash when I checked out, she said “oh you can and we will refund your card(probably within 10 days or so.). Always had to tell front we needed towels and coffee supplies and leave dirty towels outside our door because they don’t clean the room until we leave. Also resort fees added on over $20 per day and a additional daily parking fee of $ 21 per day. Also, no mini fridge or microwave. This place is a total ripoff and I would not advise anyone to stay here. It is run down and needs work.

We came for a long weekend vacation and this Sheraton was awful. Totally looks like 1970. View my photos with old & dirty sheets. Housekeeping took my magazine, when I called the desk to report it was missing they did NOTHING! Room was non smoking, but cigarette butts were outside the patio door. Loud pool music until 11pm and parties at their in hotel club every night with people being loud! Oh the pool was closed too. Lastly they added $21 for parking per day plus taxes and fees and we didn’t have a car! When I noticed it, she easily removed the charges but made me feel like they add it and hope people don’t notice, super scam. I will never come back here!!

Was in town for a work trip booked at the Sheraton for a group rate. The day before I expected to check in, I began reading reviews at how dirty the facility had been recently, so I changed reservations to another hotel with great reviews for less than half the price. Upon calling to cancel my Sheraton reservation, I was told that since I booked with a group rate, I would be charged for one night ($150). I looked at my credit card statement two days later, and I was charged $1600 that was “manually entered”. That is double the price it would have cost me to stay for my entire reservation. I am glad that I moved reservations, after arriving for my meeting at the hotel, it is very run down and dirty. Believe the reviews. I hope I can get this charge settled easily without having to file a credit card dispute.

My Wife dragged me out the house to go to Florida for my birthday, and because my immune system is compromised, I tend to be extremely cautious and aware of my environment. Nonetheless we reserved a room at the Sheraton, and who greeted us with a smile? Nicole and Michael. What made this stay extra special was they listened to my concerns and ensured that my room was cleaned thoroughly. Mario was their guy to make that happen. They also offered us some awesome spots to go eat and hangout. To me that is what makes a good hotel stay, having conscientious staff. Every hotel has beds, but meeting GOOD people like these folks made my hotel stay just a bit more special. On a side note the following morning, Jailene was at the front desk and had the same way of life for my Wife and I. When I come to Florida again (GOD spare life), guess where I'll be staying? GOD bless you all, stay safe and thank you all for such a wonderful experience.

We would never come back to this hotel (though it’s more of a motel with most rooms opening to the outside) after all the issues we had. For starters, staff just walked into our room after knocking on 3 separate occasions. Didn’t give us time to open the door or in one instance cover up as we were changing. Also, we have small kids I don’t want the fear of staff walking in when I’m in the shower and having access to my children… major safety concern for me! After staying at many hotel (we are lifetime ambassador elite members of Marriott if that explains how often we stay in hotels) I’ve never had so many staff walk into my room uninvited and for their maintenance issues, not for something we requested. (For example to check to see if our carpet was wet after a storm… they just walked on in!) We ended up staying in a room with bunk beds, my kids immediately saw the graffiti left on these beds… inappropriate and vial for a child to see! Pictures attached though I tried to sensor edited them. We would welcome the cleaning staff though they only came 1-2 times and we had to ask, we stayed 10 days and had to ask for basic things like toilet paper and towels and to fill the bath gel. And if you ask it takes hours to get anything… we needed a pillow the other night and asked about 9pm… we had to call back after Midnight since we still didn’t receive it. Then we did receive it but they forgot the blanket we also requested… ugh
When we arrived, they gave us a Palm suite, it was dirty and even had stains on the white bed skirt. See picture… I can’t believe they would have what looks like a urine stain showing on a supposedly clean bed? Use bleach!
This hotel is very tired… the elevator was broken during part of our stay but seems broken regardless and you pray it gets to your floor. Signs are covered in tape instead of upgraded to reflect what they should say. See pictures… some rooms are used for storage maybe and could use some drapes so they look safe to the outside world. The kids tv in the lobby is tuned to adult programs for the staff instead of playing cartoons like all other hotels in the area. Details matter, when you charge many points and additional money to stay you feel like it’s a great property and are excited to visit. This property needs a major upgrade and deep cleaning. The pool area is nice ( though the pictures online seem years old) but it’s probably the only thing they maintain at this point.

Good lesson on what a bad hotel is really like as it has been a while. Toilet took 3 or so flushes. I had forgotten what a very old toilet was like. "Popcorn style ceiling" was cracked with holes (I imagine a health risk). Hair dryer does not dry (probably very old). We were there all week and the cleaning service was not reliable or thorough in our opinion. Repeated (6-10) asks for towels or toiletries were not fulfilled - all the front desk would say was "We told the runner". Towel service at the pool was broken most of the time and drive anxiety as there is a big sign threatening $20/ unreturned towel with no accountability for keeping the system up and running. Common areas were often full of trash as there are no trashcans on each floor (each 8-9 floor building has trashcans on the bottom floor resulting in trash pile up). Restaurant workers were fairly aggressively monitoring guests (we didn't go back after one breakfast). Pool was fairly good with a decent small water slide. Awesome and convenient location with parking at no charge at the time. If Marriott had them renovate the rooms and brought in a good operations team, this can be a gem but its pretty raw / uncut right now..
