So I have stayed at this older hotel many many times over the last 35 years. Lots of good memories.
The staff is friendly, the location is central & close to every thing, & the food is good, & we had complementary breakfast for each day, & booked the pool both days.
However this time we stayed on the 2nd floor in a Non smoking room, facing the strip.
The Problem is that if you open the window to get any fresh air, the room smells like an ashtray within minutes.
The smoking section is right beside the front door & in front of the hotel. This needs to go. If it wasn’t for that I would’ve gave them 5 stars

This hotel is very dated although I think they are slowly doing upgrades. The tv list of channels did not match what was actually available. The air conditioning was off the living room only and the bedroom was ridiculously hot … the hot breakfast service turned into a buffet .. on the whole, most problems were fixed (they bright a fine for the room, I complained about the buffet and a breakfast was ordered, the manager gave our bill a discount). The best part was the hotel is clean, the front desk staff was pleasant and we had appies in the lounge that were delicious.

The stay was great, we arrived a bit late but called to say that we were still coming. When we arrived we were greeted by Miriam who was waiting for us with a big welcome and already checked us in from our phone call. She offered excellent friendly service and ensured our room met our every need, great at her job!!! The beds were great, and the sheets very soft, allowing me to sleep thru the entire night (usually doesn’t when traveling). Thanks Miriam!😁

Our bus tour passed thru Cranbrook on our way to & from Seattle for the Blue Jays ball games. This may not be the newest hotel on the block but the management & staff were fantastic getting bombarded with 2 buses. They flew around collecting our bags & had them to our Rooms pretty much by the time we had our room keys. They had coffee & water 24/7 in the lobby which was nice.
Breakfasts were hot & delish 😁
The owners came in as well & made sure things were good for us all. the dining staff were working their tails off to make sure we were all fed.
Above & beyond service & I’ve never had hotel staff come out & shake your hand & Thk you for coming.

Terrible service, quoted one price 3 x and then was charged double the price after speaking to the front desk I was told that there was no proof of the quote. Parking lot wasn't plowed, we got stuck 4 times, no room service, room was dirty to begin with, no supervisor they had quit the previous week. The staff and stay ruined an already saddened Christmas. BEWARE

The management at this hotel went above and beyond for my family and I while we experienced mechanical issues. The pool and hot tub area was extremely clean and warm, very lovely family swim time. A hot breakfast was included and was delicious with a good variety. Our room was very clean and provided everything we needed. We were so happy and very appreciative of all they did for us while we were stranded in Cranbrook.

We arrived late after a long day at the icefields but the staff at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The room was nice-clean and roomy with comfy beds, the bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. We had a new TV, free wi fi, a fridge and a microwave. We slept well and awoke to our free hot breakfast. They kept filling the trays and kept the coffee coming. We were able to get an early start to get back for our flight home from Seattle. When we left, we noticed how inviting and attractive the hotel was with all the hanging flowers that we didn't see the night before in the dark. We'll stay here again when we revisit the icefields. Thanks for a good stay. There was also an exercise room and an indoor pool that we didn't make use of but good to know it was an option. Maybe next time.

1st room we had was a suite that was supposed to have a kitchenette. All we had was a microwave and a fridge with zero dishes in the cupboards. We dismissed this since it was nice to have a room with a separate bedroom. When we went to bed, we noticed a big stain on the sheets that was fresh. The bed was absolutely terrible. It was so worn out that we were sleeping about 2inches higher than each other. I wouldn't want my dog to sleep on this bed. Should be thrown in the garbage. After the 1st night we were switched to a different room after getting a lot of attitude from the lady with a clipboard. The new room was much better and it had the same microwave and fridge. The evening staff at desk were great but, the daytime staff were not welcoming. We would never recommend this hotel or stay at it again.

This hotel is tired, not well maintained. Our door SLAMMED shut every time no maintenance staff available on wkends. Water coming out of bathtub faucet was black, it did clear but certainly wouldn't drink it. We visited on a wkend when place was almost empty.
Restaurant was tasty for lunch,friendly waiter, reasonable cost.
Pool and whirlpool are good, reasonably clean although men's shower didn't work. Weight room well appointed.
I'm sure you could find something newer and better maintained for similar $$ in Cranbrook.

On a bus tour from Saskatchewan to Seattle. 2 buses with 80+ people. The staff provided over the top service for our group. All the staff from owners, managers, housekeeping and waitresses were there to make sure our every need was met. A lot of larger hotels could take a page from their book on how to treat their guests. We would fully recommend this hotel over all others in the area.
