We stayed in an air B&B while on holiday for two weeks. The accommodation is a bit dated and very basic but it done most of our needs. The whole resorts has so much potential and although a lot of areas are acceptable their are areas that should be developed immediately- the resort has two pools which are lovely and well kept and beside the pools their is a bar which is open long hours, the paving around the pool is cracked and chipped and this lets down the whole area. In the apartment their is a washing machine and dishwasher but these doesn’t work and is a laundry room close by in the resort but sadly only one machine was working and it was rather a hit or a miss if it was not in use, they are free to use as is the tumble driers. Most of the reception staff are very pleasant and helpful except one who we found was rude and could not be bothered with anyone (the lady in front of me was given worse attitude than we were)
On leaving the resort on the last day we spoke to the owner who informed us that the resort was going through renovations and that was taking place now as it was their quiet time-it would have been good to know that at the start instead of the end. On the whole I would give the resort 4/5 as the bedroom, bedding and towels were immaculate and smelt so fresh but if a little more work was done on the place it would definitely be a 5/5. We would stay here again but would check that all facilities had been updated and fixed.

Picture staying at a multi-building apartment complex with a communal pool and fitness area and you have the Oak Plantation Resort.

We stayed in a one bedroom on the second floor in Building 8. Overall the accommodation was satisfactory for the price. The perks are a full kitchen (albeit with minimal cooking utensils), an in-suite laundry, and free daily shuttles to Disney World. The pool area was nice and had the bonus of a tiki bar. The decor is slightly dated, the mattress was uncomfortable and the overall cleanliness has room for improvement (the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom were backed up with standing water).

This resort is in need of some serious TLC. It is in a great location with lots of shopping and activities in the area. Not far from the theme parks. We had 2 units. A one bedroom unit and a 2 bedroom unit. Both were spacious and clean. However, they both needed new furniture. Some of the cooking utensils were missing and the dishwashers were in disrepair. The pool was supposed to be heated but they were not even a little warm and the hot tub was almost the same temperature. There are beautiful trees and wild peacocks on the grounds but that does not make up for the disrepair of the buildings.

If I could leave no stars, I would. My family and I are midwest country folk. We're easy to please, and aren't usually the type to complain. I read some of the reviews about this property before booking and thought to myself how bad could it really be? Maybe the people posting these negative reviews are used to more upscale places, and we are content staying at lower end places, even outdated so long as they are clean and well kept. It was THAT bad. The 1st room of the 3 we were put in during our week long stay smelled horribly musty and was infested with cockroaches!! The appliances were all rusted, broken, and super dated. After we found the bugs, we asked to be moved to a different room. The person working the front desk acted like this was totally normal for them (gross) we were given access to 5 different rooms to inspect, 1 of them wasn't cleaned yet, all of them stunk and weren't updated, and all of them had bugs (cockroaches, ants, fruit flys). The 2nd room in the 2nd building of 3 we moved to none of the TVs worked, the bathroom was disgusting, the tub had cracks in it, the floor was dirty and had a brownish black film on it, the appliances weren't working, and there were no towels. This was a common theme for the week we stayed here, called to get linens and nobody came the first day, we called again in the morning and then finally that night we were brought towels. After calling VRBO we were put into the 3rd room of our visit in a 3rd building that was newly renovated, probably 1 of 2 rooms in the whole property that were renovated. We talked to other guests who all stated they had similar situations with their rooms. This place is a dump. It looks nothing like the pictures, and the staff does NOT care. The whole place is dirty, there was garbage everywhere and the buildings were dilapidated. Spend the extra money and stay at a disney or universal resort where you know it will be safe, clean, and cockroach/fruit fly/ant/raccoon/feral cat free. Only one of the pools was functional, the BBQ area was non existent. The hot tub was just warm and only half the jets worked. The description of the property says there is a childrens play area and activities, these were also nonexistent. The listing stated that 2 breakfast passes per day were included for their "breakfast buffet" and they were not. The breakfast was just okay. The staff did nothing to try to make this right, except to offer us free breakfast vouchers, which were supposed to be included in our stay anyway. The whole posting for this place seems like false advertising. I was very disappointed with our stay, but there was no where else to go and we had already paid to stay here. We will NEVER go back here and I will tell everyone I know about our experience. Please, please take my advice and DO NOT book here. It will ruin your vacation!

We are a family of 6, we spent a fair amount of money on a family vacation and was so disappointed in the oak plantation resort. After we booked this venue we had no choice but to stay there. Feb. 7 we were placed in a 2 bedroom unit, exhausted after a weather delay at the airport in NS Canada for 14 hours, we arrived at out room and the children were scared to stay there, they cried and were scared to stay there, we unpacked then, packed up again. Carpets were soaked, bugs every where and a strong smell of chemicals. Drawers would not close and it had inadequate lighting, front desk put us in another room, so we unpacked again, it was after midnight before we could get children settled. Room 2, we had no bedding for the pull out couch, and it would not unfold, so one person slept on the couch, we called 3 times for towels and bedding, they said they would send someone, a woman arrived at 10:30pm with 3 towels for 6 people. We ended up taking towels from the pool area to accommodate everyone. The dryer vent was off the dryer and we reported it, next day they came for repairs, when we were out and vent was still off. whole unit was steamed up. No lighting in the rear of the building and possums were living out there, bathtub was not working. So we complained yet again and were placed in our third unit. Some days we had no housekeeping and we hid the towels and washed them ourselves so we could have enough. Microwave, safe and dryer in 3rd unit was not functioning, smoke detector beeped for 3 days. Maintenance came second day, dryer element was burnt out, could not repair (they offered us a shared laundry facility on the property, so we spend a few hours of our vacation sitting in a laundry room drying our clothes), microwave was not fixable and they said there was nothing wrong with the smoke detector, so it kept beeping at intermittent times. There are so many other things on the list of deficiencies, these buildings do not appear to be up to safety standards. Absolute worst nightmare of a vacation spot. One pool was in operation and it was nice, second pool was not working and was full of dirt and leaves. After saving enough money for everyone to go, we were all totally disappointed and I am not sure if we could travel again without seeing the actual accommodations. The pictures are false, information communicated is false. Needless to say, we ate out the whole time as we would never venture into their dining area. This is a prime example why people do not trust. Shame on Sunwing Vacations for promoting this venue. We cleaned up our room before we left so we would not be charged 150.00 cleaning fee, and the room was cleaner when we left.

Hello, let me start by saying this review took a turn for worse. I originally would have given it a 3 probably but now I would not rate it at all. We booked/reserved this stay through their online website which needs updating, pics and just the format. We arrive with an okay welcome, registration takes a bit as it is either their system or staff. We are in 103 and it is worn out, the decor, furniture, the outdoor facilities only one light working out of four on the tennis court so advantage to someone LOL. the games room should not be called a games room with only 4 non popular games. This place is just in need of dire updates throughout for the amount they charge. They should really be asking you how much they want you to stay. Really the only positive was location as it was 12 mins to Disney Hollywood Studios. But you can find somewhere closer for the same amount.

Anyways that isn't even the worse part. we are now trying to recover funds since our credit card was charged twice. We have records saying the MasterCard was charged twice and Oak Plantation says once. We are letting Mastercard resolve the double charge of over 1000.00$ The staff on the phone was inconsiderate and obstinate. They never responded to us when they said they would. Please look elsewhere.

When we went to check in they could not find our reservations and took about an hour to check because of it.

Both pools were closed which left us only the kid pool open... the water only goes up to our calf’s in this pool...

The resort did not match the pictures online. It is way more run down in person.

The breakfast is not free which is stated on the website.

It is about 25 mins away from disney world and advertised as close to the parks.

Management did not handle concerns well.

The room itself was nice but that was the only positive.

This resort has great potential. They offer lots of activity choices that other resorts don't have. There is lots to do if you're interested. It is a great resort for families with children of all ages. The pool area is lovely but as many do in December the heat is off in the pool and hot tub and thus unusable. they are in the process of renovating the units. it was quiet and very relaxing when we were there..

did not compare with other units we have rented in the past at other resorts. Furniture outdated, not a single pillow on the couch, I had to use very thin pool towels that I waited a long time to get. not enough towels etc.

Stayed there at the end of January. Rooms are large with many amenities. Very pleasant grounds and a pond in the middle. Pool area was nice with a bar. Units are built in the 1990's and show some age. Still a good bargain for the traveler. Excellent location.

We stayed here about 6 weeks ago and there was no great evidence of any remodelling/ refurbishment!! The apartments are clean and some are better than others. The front desk were always happy to move you if you had an issue! This resort would be brilliant if they had spent the money on it. We had a timeshare here and have just handed it back as the money we paid for maintenance has clearly not been spent on that purpose! But having said that we were comfortable and had a nice time here!

Hello, Our shuttle leaves the property once a day, 10:30 am to Epcot (if visiting any of the other parks you should use the Disney transportation system from Epcot) shuttle will also take our guest to Universal and Sea World on the same trip. The return is a little different, return from Universal at 6:50 pm, from Sea World at 7:10 pm and 10:35 pm from Epcot.
