GALLERYone - a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel is praised for its prime location near the beach, shops, and restaurants, offering guests beautiful views and convenience. However, guests have called out the hotel for its lack to value, citing unexpected fees and high costs for parking, food, and accommodation. While the staff often receives compliments for being friendly and helpful, some guests have experienced unprofessional service. Cleanliness and upkeep are concerns as well, with reports of poor housekeeping and outdated rooms, despite the lively outdoor music and bar scene.

I decided to treat my fiancee with a trip to South Florida for sun and the International Super Yacht Show. Add that its Valentine's day and she was ecstatic.

Though arriving late, management had a lovely suite arranged with views overlooking the intracoastal. Suite had a balcony that made the suite even more romantic. Mr. Ryan Kopp, the front end manager went far and above his attention to detail. I'd ask for him by name. The night manager Maurice, backed him up with late night requests.

This suite had a full kitchen, dining area and living room area, separate bedroom with large bathroom. The room was spacious and extremely quiet. I usually request a high floor room and this was on the 9th floor. Blackout curtains made sleeping in possible, pillows that made sleeping incredibly relaxing.

They have several bars and one restaurant called the Vue. We had a buffet breakfast (fresh and varied selections) but menu ordering is also available. Dinner was excellent with my fiancee having the grilled chicken, I had surf n turf of steak and blackened (requested and chef accommodated) Grouper, along with grilled vegetables. Everything was well prepared and taste was exquisite. Compliments to the chef. Room service is also available.

Hotel is located just off Los Olas and walking distance to Broward's luxury mall (50 yds), fine restaurants and just 1/4 mile from the best beach in South Florida.

Though we went to Miami for the yacht show, staying here was quiet, centrally located to everything. While Hilton has many hotels within a few miles of this property, I highly reccomend this hotel, just for its location and amenities, including business center and pool.

I'd planned to just enjoy spending my time (and money) at the property because of COVID-19. Unfortunately, all on property restaurants and Starbuck's were closed which forced me to venture out for meals. Luckily there are several fast food and fine dining options, a convenience store and a grocery store within walking distance so it wasn't too bad. The mall was also a convenient option for meals and shopping, as well as utilizing the water taxi that stops right at the property.

I suggest you stop to pickup some cleaning supplies because the room only felt superficially cleaned. I found many long brunette hairs everywhere so I didn't feel good about it being clean by pre COVID standards so definitely not clean enough during a pandemic. The kitchenette would be useful for fixing meals if you're up for it.

The daytime staff working the front desk left alot to be desired. A bit of an unprofessional attitude and the young lady working while I was waiting to checkout was on a personal call and wasn't even professional enough to put the call on hold and do her job first. The bright side...I was not happy with my first room assignment and Matt who was working check-in quickly switched my room to a higher floor as requested. I was really glad he did when I found out my original floor was pretty much a loud party floor. Totally not my vibe despite my last name. I found the gentlemen working the valet stand to be really polite and helpful as well.

Why would Hilton leave their name on this property? This was absolutely the worst accommodations we have ever stayed at and at a premium price. We rented a two bedroom, two bathroom suite for just over $500.00 for an evening for two couples prior to a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. The chairs in the kitchen should be at the side of the road and I’m sure they wouldn’t be taken and the carpet and remaining furniture wasn’t much better. We complained immediately and we’re told the manager wasn’t in but would contact us later that evening. We never heard from the manager so went back to the front desk and we were told no rooms were available. Ryan quickly offered $100.00 off for the evening which we accepted due to no other rooms being available. We are Canadian so a $400.00 room for the evening converted to $540.00. We would have been better off renting two discount hotel chain rooms and I’m sure they would have been better than what we stayed in. We were also told the rooms at Gallery One are individually owned but Hilton is responsible for the upkeep. Shame on them.

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to advise us of your recent stay at GALLERYone. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide to our valued guests. I was very disappointed to read of your experience during your stay with us. While an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend it with all sincerity. I certainly empathize regarding the points you mention in your review, especially in your other reviews concerning the condition of your room and the chairs. We are in the process of restoring these chairs and I am sorry that we had not gotten to this suite. Again, please accept my apology.

It's a good choice for stay given a 5 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms are spacious with a balcony and all essential amenities. I personally opted for this hotel eyeing the full kitchenette that comes with silverware and other basics. They have a well done swimming pool and hot water jacuzzi. The seating area near the pool faces the Intracoastal waterway and that's a great view during the evenings.
Water taxi has a stop exclusively for GalleryOne and that's an easy way to get to multiple spots of attraction like Fort Lauderdale beach & Las Olas Boulevard.
Parking is a negative aspect here. There is a large open area in front of the hotel that appears to be for parking but was locked when I visited. You only get valet parking and that costs like $45 for a night. Wish they had free or lesser expensive options.

At first it looks great! A waterfront hotel for that price. But as you peel the covers, you realize it's not all it's cracked up to be. I went to celebrate 4th of July weekend with my family.

PROS:

> Waterfront
> Good location

CONS

> Old carpet that smells
> RUDE staff ( Yes, it is south Florida, so you can't expect politeness, but these people were something else!)
> $40 to park you car overnight ! You'd think you were checking into the RItz Carlton at this price.
> Pool is dirty. Water was green when I went.
> Loud and overcrowded ( There are many families with kids staying here and a bunch of riff raff crowds up the pool area, definitely not a place to relax).
> Overpriced! (At $150- 200/night, one would expect a decent hotel, this is just a cleaner motel 6)

Would never go back to this location, much less south Florida. Everyone in the area is absolutely rude.

Side note: Eating on any of the beach front restaurants is also a huge let down. The food is terrible and you get more of Floridian rudeness. Worst vacation I ever took ruined by the people.

Since my last visit there have been many wonderful improvements to the Hotel both inside and out and there are more to come. Without a doubt, Bob Keesler is the best Manager the hotel has ever had in all the years I have been coming here. Ryan does an excellent job on the front desk and the hotel has a very good team of friendly efficient staff. The dock has been completely rebuilt and the pool area has new parasols and patio seating. There are new hallway carpets, on all of the floors and all the public areas too, including new furniture. Overall the hotel is looking fantastic and when the landscaping and new exterior lighting is completed - it will be even better. The Vue restaurant has nightly dinner specials, which are very reasonably priced, and include a drink. No need to go elsewhere in the evening.

Yes, the valet parking is expensive, but there are other hotels in the area that charge more and you have to remember - this is South Florida !!! On the plus side Gallery One has no resort or service charges, but most of the hotels in the area do with fees of up to $40 per night for the use of pool towels, loungers etc. All in all Gallery One is a very good deal and a fantastic location for the beach or the mall and Publix is across the road. The water taxi is at the hotel dock. There is also the Sun Trolley Bus to take you around Ft.Lauderdale and there is a car hire company just over the bridge. I like some extra room so I have a two bedroom south facing suite, and having a living room with a kitchen is way better than a solitary hotel bedroom with a chair in the corner. Nearly forgot to mention all the excellent staff and spotlessly clean room, so special thanks to the maid Cynthia. See you all in November !

Stayed one night before cruise. First off, they can provide transportation to the port for $10 a head. We had five in our party plus a wheel chair so I figured two cabs would probably cost the same. The large van they used was nice and roomy and the service is contracted out (it's not a Hilton van). Cab ride from FLL ran about $30 and took 30 minutes at rush hour.

GOOD: Location is wonderful. Right on the canal with water taxi service ($18) available. The mall and a bunch of upscale restaurants (Capitol Grill, PF Changs, Trulucks, Starbucks, etc) are a few hundred feet west and a CVS about twice as far. Easy walk right down the sidewalk.
Both guys at the front desk could not have been nicer or more helpful. Lobby and outside bar area are very nice. Our two bedroom suite had a walk-in shower in one of the rooms (tub shower in other) which was wonderful. The A/C worked great and was divided so one of the rooms had its own thermostat. This was REALLY nice because my mother-in-law likes to sleep in an oven!

Not so Good: At best I would have to describe the room condition as rather shabby. I hope all rooms are going to be refurbished because ours had poor carpet, holes in the arm of the chairs, screws missing from the pulls on the dresser, closet doors that barely opened because the beds were in the way and pretty much an overall feel of a place in need of a general overhaul!

I booked a two bedroom suite with partial kitchen at the Gallery One for our pre-cruise stay in Fort Lauderdale. The Gallery One has a great location and well appointed common areas, but lacks general room maintenance and more detailed cleaning.

We could tell as soon as we entered the room that it lacked beyond the basic 'cleaning'. There carpet looked like is was not vacuumed since the last stay, which was evident from crums, a cashew and a sea shell on the floor. The kitchen cupboards were partially grease and dust stained. A few of the light switches were dirty / grimey. There were finger prints on the wall behind the sofa, etc... We mentioned the carpet issue to the Front Deck. It was evident that someone came to the room, but it must have been quick as the cashew and seashell were still on the floor (in corners).

As for maintenance, one of the vinyl wrappings on a kitchen drawer was half off . The light switch in the main bathroom was not broken, but not in an 'acceptable' condition for a Double Tree.

Although I told myself it was just dirt, there was black patches in a couple of wall /ceiling corners.

For other reasons, I brought my own cleaning supplies and spend the first hour of my hotel stay wiping the kitchen, living room area and the two bathrooms. (although cleaning the bathrooms may have been overkill). No, I am not an overly 'particular' person. It's just visible grim (coupled with lack of recent maintenance) is different. It took the 'wow' factor away.

Most helpful and accommodating staff. Extremely pleasant, cheerful and helpful. Place is a bit shop worn. Understanding that spring break can be a challenge for hotels if you want other guests who will spend money and time at your hotel to be guests as well you need to step up maintaining the rooms and the quiet. Separating spring breakers from the remainder of the guests would be helpful. Noise from student revelers at 1,2 and am was significant. After two days we did hear one student being warned that noise was unacceptable and they would get one warning. Pool was overtaken by students so that wasn’t an option for those over 21. Street noise is loud but the view of the inter coastal is fun.
