We were not sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. The grounds and the setting is lovely, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was nothing special and we chose to eat out most days. My only real complaint was the housekeeping. Our room had a king sized bed but the bottom sheets must have been queen size so they didn’t tuck in. With two people moving around in the night by morning the sheet was totally a mess and bunched up. The floors in our room were never properly swept, they wet moped it out but didn’t sweep so there was always bits left behind. There were not enough housekeeping staff, they never showed up till very late in the day and a few times we sent them away cause we were napping after being out of the room most of the day.

CONS: Customer service and instalations need much improvement. We’ve got 2 rooms and in both of them drainage of bathroom sink were clogged. Hand towels not suplied until second and third request on first two days of stay and a verbal complaint at front desk. Room service slow, and after asking for some salt, waiter never returned to room. Our face masks disapeared after room cleaning in two consecutive days.

PROS: Besides hotel is at the Southern end of Loreto, it takes just 10-15 minutes driving distance to airport and town. The views are breath taking. Pool bar personel very friendly and food, drinks were awesome. Internet speed is average, rooms 70s looking but spacious and a like them a lot. Great pool and Beach a few steps from pool.

Well where do I begin, the location of the hotel is great I'll give them that. We arrived in the afternoon, check in was smooth, the rooms are definitely outdated and in need of some TLC, the fixtures were old and the floor was deteriorating, there was mold growing from many areas of the bathroom. The walls are supper thin and not insulated so every loud noise from your neighbors is magnified. It seemed as if the staff was overwhelmed and understaffed, many of them showed their frustrations when they were flooded with customers at the pool area bar / cafe. The pools were freezing and the jacuzzi was constantly packed with people, although their website said the pool was heated, not true.

Don't go for the "breakfast included" on their site, its not worth it. Two eggs and either ham, chorizo, or hot dog weenie is what you get everytime.

Overall it was an "OK" place to stay, but for being owned by the wealthiest man in Mexico it definitely needs to be upgraded and the staff needs some serious customer service training. I don't think I saw a "manager" the whole time I was there, no sign of direction.

I asked for a late check out since my flight was at 5pm and the front desk said absolutely not, although it was slow and no one was checking in when we left this is the type of customer service / attention to detail this place lacked.

Unfortunately its not some place I can say I'd recommend, I went to Loreto for dinner twice at "La Mission" and it was day and night the level of service and attention to detail compared to Loreto Bay.

Having read all of the reviews prior to booking, we were not expecting to have such a great experience! And I’m hesitant to reveal what a great time we had because now we’ll probably never be able to book the room we love, but here goes. Upon arrival we were able to upgrade our room (paid addition cost) to a Master Suite. That may be a key factor, since our room and spacious terrace had an amazing view of the bay and golf course! That alone was worth staying there! Additionally, our room was nice and comfortable (shower had hot water, no unwanted bathroom odor) and we really spent a lot of time in our room relaxing and enjoying the view. Some people may complain about updating that’s needed, and I hope that comes around after the pandemic is over but I’m sure it’s been a struggle keeping such a resort going at this time. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We enjoyed everyone we spoke with from the front desk to pool/bar/restaurant servers to the gate attendants. The food was good. We ate at the pool restaurant several times. The first time it took nearly an hour and I ate my weight in chips and salsa during that time, but the 2 times after that it only took about 15 minutes. I do wish the pool bar would open before noon. There’s not a place to get a cup of coffee or a Bloody Mary in the morning. Breakfast is a small buffet style meal in a cafeteria-like space. We ate there once and it was ok. The pool could use an update with better equipment. It gets a little murky from sunscreen and such, but it’s in such a great location next to the beach. I love that they have daybeds by the pool. Overall, I think it’s a great place to stay for the price. It has the bones and location to be fabulous but it’s still a great place to stay now.

It has been a long time since we had such an enjoyable vacation.

The entire staff and the city of Loreto are taking the Covid issue very seriously and are taking all sorts of measures to prevent the spread, but at the same time to make you feel very welcome.

From Jose Luis at the front desk, to all the barmans and waiters (Erik, Jose Luis, Yael, Nelson, Polo) to the chef (Jesus) and their Manager (Laura) to the tour operators and their captain (Jesus ,Tracy & Julio).

It has been a while since I traveled to a place who would make you feel so welcome with such a warm team.

Loreto is a very small town with a very interesting topic: Environment Preservation !!

The hotel is beautiful and very well taken care. We were able to use their Kayaks, Paddle boarding, Bicycles, Pools and Jacuzzi.

The ocean is pristine full of beautiful fishes within just a few feet from the beach. You can snorkel by the big rock in front of the hotel and is full of corals and marine life.

While on the tour, we saw hundreds of Dolphins. Well over 500 every trip.

The private beaches at the islands are unique, clear water with white sand.

This is a place we will definitely be going back.

My big family and I rented 3 rooms with all our kids and when we got there it took 1 hour and 30 min to check in, by the time we got our rooms it was 8 pm then we all went to the pool because it was really hot and wanted to eat and have drinks and the waitresses were really mean and never served us. By then it was already 9 pm and we had to leave the pool because they close it at 9 pm we complain to manager.
Next day we all went to eat at the buffet wearing our bathing suits and they did not let us in because we needed to wear regular clothes. We got towels and shirt to cover ourselves but because husband was not wearing shoes he could not go in. So I ended up eating by myself with my three kids because husband and rest of the family were wearing inappropriate clothes.
Went to the pool with the whole family and the customer service at the bar was terrible again..... we decided to leave and eat out at the main town. We will never come back even if the place looks good and is nice.....
It seems that the hotel does not want to make money.....

This was our first trip to Loreto and the Loreto Bay Golf Resort & Spa. We spent the entire Thanksgiving week lounging by the pool, exploring the Nopolo area, and even went into nearby Loreto for a few days. The resort staff was very helpful in arranging the rental car for those few days. While COVID measures were in effect, they were not over the top and everyone used common sense and courtesy. The resort layout is great with most rooms overlooking the pool area and the beach in few steps beyond the pool deck. If you want pesos, make sure you get them before you arrive as the nearest ATM is 20 minutes away in Loreto, but they take dollars if you need. This is not a huge party place but one great for families and for those who want a little peace and quiet. We look forward to another trip to the Resort!

We booked our trip to this Hotel Resort thru Expedia. Even though we are a VIP status our room was decent but found the facilities needed major repairs and upgrades.

We purchased the breakfast in our package but found it to be not worth it. It is just your basic American continental breakfast and would not recommend it.

The personnel was very short staffed but most of them work very hard to try to accommodate all guests. Many thanks to Jose Luis, who truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Polo and Mary were also accommodating.

Unfortunately, I had a huge disappointment with their golf course and would not recommend it. It is not properly maintained and has a skeleton crew to barely make it playable. There is no sand on the sand traps and you can find thru out most of the golf course dried up grass in every hole.

If not for the beautiful location of the hotel it would of been a very bad review. Fan in room was black from dust, at 40% capacity they said they did not have rooms in upper levels and were putting all of the guest on the first floor. After making a big fuss on day 2, they switch my room to a clean one on the 3rd floor Some employees are very good and some have very bad attitude, like they were doing me a favor when I asked for things.

The best part is the beach, view from the hotel, walking thru the village and they had bikes you could use.The worst is all the outside walls are covered in aged leaf and plant material growing all over the building and patio covers.Because of this the room smells musty and the terrace patios are dirty. The elevator smells of Raid , saw a few cockroach in the bathroom. The food is horrible, really bad ,don't order hash browns or Pico de gallo and the staff are nice enough but the service was bad.The Catco restaurant served the worst breakfast ever. and the buffet was nothing to write home about. I was there for a week, My room had no blankets and when I asked for a few a security guard brought up a wrinkled comforter that was to big for the bed and totally wrinkled like it had been stuffed in a closet. The beds are basic box springs on the floor and the bed skirts hang on the floor. But the mattress was comfortable. I use an ULTRA violet light in hotels and when I asked for a few clean pillowcases 2 had lipstick stains on them,.the sheets were not the best and the blankets had hair on them. The staff seemed uninspired. The grounds around the perimeter need major maintenance as well the stairwells. I don't think they have enough staff to maintain the building. It truly is shameful that this historic hotel with the best snorkel and swim beach is in need of some major love or money thrown into the mix.The security is good there are safes in the room. They do not have washcloths in the room and the cabinets are difficult to close and the knob came off the closet door when I opened the closet. The floors, at least mine were original thick tiles that looked as if they have not been mopped in over 20+ years. The ceiling fan had an layer of grime and dust it it made my asthma really difficult to breathe, I did report it and someone came by with a ladder while I was gone and did an okay job on getting most of the grime off.
Watch your step when walking around ,lots of broken concrete and holes. The pool bar restaurant needs a manager. If it were me I would do the number thing and have guest place there orders and pick them up themselves rather than the bus boys/bartender trying to serve the food.I ordered some ice and the bartender took a glass yes a glass to scoop out the ice,not an metal handled scoop.I have worked in food service and its a big no no to scoop up ice with glass as it could easily cause the glass to break and then well, you know. Beside that he has his fingers in the ice as well.and is eating food while working, putting food in his mouth and then not washing his hands. I would only go back if I were to be guaranteed a clean room with clean sheets and housekeeping daily.Oh yea, the housekeeper left her dirty cleaning rag on my night stand.I can only imagine that the covid years really took a toll on this place. I did not golf but the course has specular views and is well maintained

You can go for lunch. If you’re not a paying guest don’t expect to use any other facilities. I’d also suggest you check the reviews on the food. Unless it’s improved a lot, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Im not aware about golf packages and had’nt ever taken a taxi in Loteto. I’ve found more convenient renting a car at Loreto int’l because there are not to many taxis and there is no uber services. By the way, Loreto Golf Bay hotel is the farthest one from downtown.

I felt it was. Water is beautiful. There are rays that hide in the sand so it is best to shuffle your feet when entering the water. The vibration will get them to move and keep you from stepping on them.
