The Hilton Long Beach hotel garners mixed feedback, with guests praising its convenient location near the cruise docks and family-friendly amenities, including a renovated pool. However, guest opinions on service are polarized; some commend the staff's attentiveness, while others experience unresponsiveness and disorganization. Cleanliness generally receives positive remarks, but room conditions have left many travelers dissatisfied, citing issues with maintenance and value, feeling the costs outweigh the benefits of their stay.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed in Long Beach for a few days following a cruise and found this gem. The location is great. I found the area to be really safe and all the Long Beachy things (Queen Mary, Aquarium, beach) are close by. This is really close to The Pike outlets so you can always find something familiar to eat and do there. There were plenty of family friendly restaurants within a short drive ( 5-7 min). The hotel was quiet, but not snooty. I think this must have been recently remodeled. The rooms were very comfortable and had a fridge. I found a communal microwave by the ice machine which is always a great bonus, especially when traveling with kids. We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner our first night and Jose was super. Excellent service and so personable. The food was really good too. This hotel actually shares a courtyard with an office complex and we found a nice little cafe for a quick simple breakfast there (Bites). The hotel pool is on the second floor and that was also remodeled. The whole pool area is very welcoming. The pools is only a few feet deep which is great for kids.

The downsides: checking in was delayed, but the hotel made up for that. There’s also a nice little spread with infused water and cookies, snacks for guests waiting to check in. There were 4 of us in the room but we kept getting only three towels which appears to be a universal problem across hotels. Parking is interesting. They have only a small section of the garage for hotel guests and an overflow surface lot. We always found a spot in the garage, but they were hosting a conference with some large vehicles and things were tight, especially if you’re in a larger vehicle.

Overall, I’m still giving it a 5 and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Even during this challenging times, Hilton Long Beach consistently delivers excellent service. The staff led by the General Manager did their very best in spite of the restrictions and limitation of what was possibly available for their guests.

Room. I reserved a Junior Suite but as I Diamond member, I got upgraded to a corner suite with huge balcony with patio seating and unbeatable harbor views. The suite was well appointed with a comfortable sofa and 2 matching chairs, work desk, multiple USB power plugs, and good size TV. The closet was almost a 'walk in ' minus a door. The bathroom was elegant with shower enclosed in full length glass sliding doors.

Service. Due to COVID-19 restrictions only minimal service was provided and a skeleton crew maintained operations. Despite of this, the staff provided housekeeping upon request only. The restaurants were closed but the staff graciously opened the pantry for complimentary beverages and snacks.

Parking. The garage was closed but guests were allowed to park in front of the hotel. No parking fees charged.

I would like to end with a HUGE 'Thank You' to the staff for providing excellent service to business travelers still out there during this tough times.

I guess I was fortunate as the ohters who recently posted had a terrible experience mine was actually quite good. This is a fully functioning Hilton as the resturant was open and we had a room on the 13th floor of a 15 floor building. They have complimentary water (and flavored water and iced tea as well) by the entrance. The rooms are modern a nice, and you can set the temperature to what you want.

The phones are answered by Emily, an automated system that addresses most standard needs. Unfortunately "Emily" is unable to let you know when an order or request will be fufilled. We waited 30 minutes for more towels (The room came with two but we had four staying) and we ended up overriding Emily to call the front desk and get some towels sent up. They were helpful and appreciated. Hilton should probably rethink "Emily" and have it give an estimate time when the request will be resolved. If they cannot do that, they probably should not use the system.

The building itself is in excellent shape and I would stay there again. Note that if you want to go out within 1 mile of the building they have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within that radius so you don't have to take your car out of the garage (or valet). That is a nice feature I am not sure many are aware of.

The pool is an oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle with artifical grass around the pool in a secludeed roof location (second floor). The gym is standard but acceptable. They have a lot of conference rooms if you wanted to have a conference there and the resturant is fully functioning. I would stay there again.

The good: This Hilton is in a good location near Long Beach tourist attractions and harbor area. There's a rooftop pool that gets lots of sun. Breakfast at the restaurant was tasty and the wait staff was overstretched but very friendly. The guy working the Starbucks was a gem every time we went there.

The not so good: I understand everyone is adapting to travel during COVID but this place does not have it together in that regard.

When we checked in they said housekeeping is available but it must be requested. Fine. We called down for housekeeping in the morning before we left for a day at the beach and were told they would contact housekeeping and ring us back on our cell phone. We never got a call and when we returned hours later the room hadn't been cleaned. We called down again (and by the way there were MANY times we called and called the front desk with no answer) and they said we had to request housekeeping 24 hours in advance. If that's the policy, fine, but let us know upon check in so we can plan accordingly. Our room was never cleaned and it was exceedingly difficult to get extra towels. (The cleaning staff never had any extra on their carts and we couldn't get through on the phone).

The limited housekeeping service also made for lots of extra trash because every single public trash can on the property was always full. In the lobby, in the hallways, at the pool, in the garage, everywhere. It was unsightly and unhealthy.

The pool area was also not attended to so there would be discarded food and beverage items, towels and other trash around that made it hard to know when/if areas were occupied.

The rooms could also use some deep cleaning and/or upgrades. Our carpets were severely stained and the TV was quite small.

Tip: there is no valet and the attached garage parking available is pretty limited BUT there is a large overflow lot (for the 24 Hour Fitness) that is accessible from the lobby.

Lot's of missinformation. We booked online and paid to have breakfast inclused. When we arrived, we were told that it was not. Front desk staff said it was $16.00 per person, resteraunt said $21.00 a person? The lobby had water but no cups, when asked if they were bringing more, I was told 15 min. (ok they were busy). the cups never came. Instead the annoyed front desk person gave me a bottle wattered that was warm. We were fortunate to be staying there when the cruise ship would not let passengers on. Understandable ,angry people sleeping all over the lobby, could not sit in the lounge because there were to many people.. staff just let everyone fend for themselves. The rooms didn't have extra blanket, rugs very worn,. Turned away from resteraunt because they also had some type of competition there canceled and there wasn't any room. Parking was also very limited. The nicest people were the parking garage people and the men who help you when you first arrive.

On our way to a Carnival cruise, we decided to stay at this Hilton the day prior to sailing. Evening front desk clerk, Nekia, was very friendly, helpful and had a bubbly personality. She advised us that a shuttle is available until 9 pm to take us to the Pike Outlet, which is about a 5 minute drive away. After we settled in, we did take the shuttle and found numerous restaurants in the area, even though there is food and a bar offered at the hotel. We ended up at PF Changs. There are a few outlet stores too, like H&M, Levi’s, Gap, Columbia, Forever 21 as well as movie theatres. Once done dinner, we called for the shuttle and the wait was about 10 minutes. A walk back may be too long and I wouldn’t recommend it in the late evening (past 9:30 pm) as some areas are not well lit. Overall, our room was ok and served its purpose. Lighting is good, well lit desk, mini fridge, safe, good pillows, plenty of plugs for all the electronics. The details of the room was not on point - small holes in the duvet bedding, nicked/worn out tv/mini fridge stand, vanity light bulb not secured, front panel to bathroom counter is missing and both ends of vanity bathroom wall had chunks missing out of it, rusty pipe to toilet very much exposed, gouged out spot just under toilet roll holder, shower that provided lukewarm (not hot at all) water and the beds do not have bedskirts to hide the boxsprings. Despite the negatives, the room was clean, had modern updates (carpet, chairs, lamps, mirrors) and was quiet. However, with the negatives, it’s almost like a renovation but not quite completed.

Had a girls weekend getaway to Long Beach and opted to stay at the Hilton Long Beach hotel which was close to the downtown area and walking distance to the Queen Mary and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The Starbucks area and dining area was nice so we had some quick breakfast meals and coffee in the morning and very good meals and drinks at dinner. A little disappointed that while we are still in the COVID situation that we weren't asked if we needed toilet paper or bath towels in three days (and No cleaning of the room) and we ran out of both TP and towels. I asked the cleaning lady on our floor for some and she was annoyed that I asked and couldn't speak English, cussed at me under her breath .... lol ... and handed me towels making it clear to me that she couldn't speak English. I said "Gracias" and went on my way. Also, there was a big pool party going on with three couples getting drunk and acting inappropriately in the pool with children present. The pool does not get monitored by staff.
Anyway, all in all ... I would stay here again. Most of the staff were super friendly, the food was great and we were in a great location for all that we wanted to do.

My company placed in this hotel and I felt I should have a good stay, and boy was I wrong. The staff was rude and at times I would have to ask 4 to 6 times for my room to be cleaned after a week of it not being cleaned. I am not a difficult customer for the most part but this hotel was a total disappoint, it is kind of unfortunate since I am normally a Hilton user for personal matters but this stay is really making me reconsider. I would give zero stars if possible.

The title basically says it all. I wanted a relaxing staycation to start the beginning of a new year. Hotel had an underground parking garage, and bar off of the lobby. I had the hotel breakfast buffet which had a great variety of food. I was surprised and excited that the breakfast buffet menu changed from one day to the next. A little variety goes a long way for multiple night stays ie Business Travel. Service was great throughout the hotel particularly John the Front Office Manager and the reception desk. Everyone was courteous, helpful and friendly. The floor I stayed on required a key to access so I felt very safe as a solo female staying at the hotel. I liked that the restaurant was on a separate level than the bar, so you could choose which crowd you wanted to be a part of. I also went out in the evening a couple blocks over to the downtown area for dinner. It was a quick Uber ride over or you could walk if you felt like getting some fresh air.

My employee attended a conference last week and they charged her personal credit card for the room, instead of her public agency credit card, that was given. It has been over a week and she has NOT been refunded on her personal card, and phone just rings and rings, its very difficult to get ANYBODY to just credit her card and charge our agency charge, which should take five minutes at any other hotel! Shes filled out forms as well to no avail. Worst customer service, front desk and phone lines we have ever encountered. SO unprofessional. Still waiting!!!! Help.

No - there is not a shuttle from a LAX to this hotel. They do have a shuttle that travels within a radius near the hotel that’s available. Check their website or give them a call for more details.
