Well, lets's just say the pictures don't match the reality. First, no parking lot. It was all torn up. Back around the side, OK. Nice sign on both sides, going to be torn down to make way for a condo. Hmmm As you walk by, you see stuff through dirty windows piled in rooms. Get in, hmmm, a real fixer upper. Up the stairs, oh by the way, no one on site. All the room keys are hanging on a screw outside the door to each. Real class. The rooms go from ok to downright no way. We picked #2, clean, fridge, balcony and nice bed, tends to roll to the middle but comfy. If you are looking for a Holiday Inn, this is not it. If you want the least expensive place to stay to go to plays, ok, but, let the buyer beware.

We stayed at this inn on a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake. As it is early in the season, we had a very quiet stay. The room was large with a cute balcony overlooking the marina and a view of the Niagara river. Everything we needed was there...it was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for walking along the river or shopping on the main street. We attended a play at the Royal George theatre and had dinner at the Irish Harp and were able to walk to both and leave our car. The Inn has free parking. Very kind staff leave a little snack basket at your door in the morning and there is a coffee machine in the room. What a great spot to enjoy Niagara-on-the-Lake without feeling like you have to break the bank!

What a find! Niagara-on-the-Lake has become very expensive to visit in the last 10 years, as nearly all the hotels and restaurants went "upscale" and took the prices up with them. Cheaper hotels in NOTL were not fit to stay in. Then I found the King George III Inn -- inexpensive, well-located and a very nice place to stay.

It's a walk-up on the second floor of a two-story building, with the Niagara Jet Boat tour below. That was not noisy or distracting, despite the all-day crowds visiting for the Jet Boat ride. In fact it was kind of fun to be staying upstrairs from a fun tourist attraction.

Rooms are spartan, and not excessively decorated, but are very clean and my bed was comfortable. Many rooms (although not mine) have furnished balconies with a view of the NOTL marina across the street.

Reliable wireless internet was available at no charge in my room, which also was equipped with a coffee maker. Rooms have no phone but there's a phone at the hotel desk where I was able to call out using my calling card. Iron and ironing board was available when I requested it. Hot water and water pressure are plentiful. Wall-mounted climate-control unit worked well and quietly.

Being less than a half-mile from the US side of the Niagara River, I was often able to get a US cellular signal -- which was nice because I didn't have to pay out-of-country charges.

Location at the pretty marina on the Niagara River waterfront is a plus. Parking was not a problem. Hotel is less than 10 minutes' walk to the Shaw Festival theatres, Queen Street shopping and dining, and several of NOTL's most attractive parks and public spaces.

Breakfast is a basket left outside your door, with two 12-oz cans of juice and packaged snacks such as fruit cup and applesauce, granola bars and cookies.

The only downside in my room was the vertical blinds on the windows. They did a poor job of blocking light, and one of the strips was missing in the window next to my bed, which sent morning sun into my face before I was ready for it.

My room had no desk or table, but I was in a small room and others may be furnished more fully. I noticed the balconies of other rooms had tables and chairs.

All in all, a great value in an expensive town, and a comfortable and friendly place to stay.

My wife and I have enjoyed Canada Day weekend at Niagara-on-the-Lake for the past several years. Since we discovered it, we have been staying at the George. This is an old world style bed and breakfast Inn with a truly "Upper Canada" flavour. From the decor enhanced with antiques to the quaint balconies over looking the Niagara river and the yatch harbour next door to the continental breakfast left in a basket outside the door in the early morning, this place is a treat. The staff are exceptional in every way and best of all, the prices are absolutely the best in this busy picturesque destination. We travel the world, the King George III Inn is one of our best finds in terms of value for the dollar.

I stayed at the King George during the height of tourist/theater season. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet, the staff friendly, the continental breakfast baskets plentiful and yummy, the location convenient (easy walk to the main drag). For my money, the best accomodations value in NOTL.

When beginning a search for a place to stay in Niagara on the Lake you can certainly get bombarded with pricey options. The King George was ideal for us as we knew that we weren't in the region to sit in the hotel.

Comfy bed, clean room and walking distance to just about everything in Niagara on the Lake.

Niagara on the Lake is a pricey town for accommodations. The KIng George III inn is an exception. It's a small, basic motel down by the harbour, around the corner from the much larger and more posh Queens Landing. The rooms are an average size. The decor is dated, with wallpaper and borders and such, but that was no problem at all for us. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and that's all we needed. The problem for us was that in Room 5 we had some kind of heating or air conditioning unit right outside our window that made loud rumbling noises all night. I am a light sleeper, and this kept me awake for a long time before I drifted off to sleep. It didn't bother my husband at all, so if it's only a problem for light sleepers. Other than that, the motel was fine, good location and lots of free parking.

The King George lll is a small hotel above the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour offices beside the marina in Niagara on the lake. It is within easy walking distance of all the theatres and many of the excellent restaurants in the town. The rooms are not fancy, but they are large, have excellent queen beds and many have balconies. Staff are all efficient and friendly. Breakfast, which is delivered to your door, consists of fruit cups, juice and granola bars. Coffee and tea are available in all rooms which have coffee makers.

For anyone wanting clean, comfortable, economical accommodation overlooking the lake, this is the place!

My boyfriend and I stayed here during the Shaw Festival and were very pleased. The room was comfortable, the basket of juice and granola bars a nice touch in the mornings, and the staff friendly and accomodating. We were walking distance to the shops, restaurants and the Shaw Festival Theatre, and the balcony was a great place to relax in between sightseeing.
This was a nice affordable hotel in an expensive town. We had a wonderful trip and will definitely stay here again!

We had high hopes for this place, as we reviewed the information online here. Wow, where we disappointed. The bed was so nasty, when my fiance laid on it with me, I would sink to the middle of the bed, so would he. The rooms was so tilted and slated to one side it felt as though you where in a fun house.

We had a terrrible problem with ants our first night, we saw a few of them. I mentioned to him. Well its not like we live here, and asked for him to just over look them. However the next night was horrible. There where so many ants along the side board that we left. We called in the night watch man to view the problem and we check out that night. No, offer to help us find another room or hotel. Just that they would refund that night. Great service.

It wouldnt of been that bad but the girls at the counter where just idiots. I was there for a wedding and the other usher came to get me at the hotel and asked for my name and room number. The four front desk girls just giggled and said that they couldnt help him. Nor could they go call up to the room as there is no phones in any of the rooms. He asked if they could check. And was told no, they couldnt as they didnt know if I was in the room. No effort was made to check or for him to be directed to the room. The manager Garry Hierlihy the next day pointed out; well he could of just walk up the steps! The fact the the staff made no attempt is just plain sad. Worst part is that they kept changing the story of my friend of 15 years apparently didnt know my name or room number. Which he did. The staff is immature and very unproffessional.

That the hotel is only secondary to their man function as a water speed boat service is screams get you act together if you are going to run a hotel.

We had to ask for the light to be fixed and their front desk girls asked the brilliant question.
Do you think its the buld? Or something else. Wow - if the light doesnt work. Uhmm I wonder just wonder what it could be.

Overall the prices isnt worth a sagging bed, infested with ants and the nasty smell. Ugh. Save your money and find another place.
