What can I say!
We are literally on our way home now after 11 amazing days staying here and missing it already!
We were 2 families of 4 and think we can speak for them to when I say how welcoming they are all there, the reception staff were great and always very helpful as were the ladies who helped book the restaurants.
The guys around the pool the entertainment team - Chocolate, Coco Cola and Coffee were just brilliant, always made the effort to come and speak to people around the pool and were very good with their activities and entertaining to that’s both day and night!! The guys around the pool were always there for drinks and kept us topped up, and the guys in the towel hut were great to always happy to swap the wet towels for dry clean ones for us.
The food in the buffet was great plenty of choice and always something for the two vegetarians on our party. They do have restaurants there which get booked up very quickly La Lola - Tapas avoid it! Awful and we left half way through, as was Bhogali - Indian was just an ok, the steak restaurant Eldorado average! Steaks just put in the table with no idea what or who’s was who’s!!
Now for the BEST - Sumptuori this was absolutely amazing the food the atmosphere the staff, was that good we went twice!!!
The rooms - We have a garden view and a Loft room and both were lovely and very good on size, our friends had a little problem after the rain storms with cockroaches and that was sorted by reception with a can of spray!!
This was our first time visiting the Dominican and will definitely not be the last. Overall this is a beautiful clean and tidy hotel with brilliant staff and always plenty of food choice even for the picky eaters!!!

Overall hotel is good but definitely not 5-star. Rooms said to be renovated in 2017 looked outdated. One day toilet flush broke (they fixed it within 2 hours). Lots of mold in the room, mold smell from air conditioning.
If you need a towel, you better get one early in the morning as by 12 am they are all gone.
Lots of VERY ANNOYING sellers of souvenirs and excursions who keep bugging you every time you pass them by. And they are located throughout the hotel so you can't hide from them )
Everything else was very good, food quality and variety was nice. Lots of good a la carte restaurants: best for us were El Dorado and Bamboo. Helpful staff, good room service, very nice beach. Great variety of bars with good selection of cocktails. Overall hotel territory is very nice and clean.

We were very happy with this resort. The food was good, the breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from, the room service food was phenomenal. The service provided was amazing. There was one day we chose not to have the maid come in and clean our room, so we received a phone call early in the evening asking if there was anything we needed and if our room was okay. We were very happy with that. The drinks were great. Our mini fridge was stocked daily with coke, sprite, orange Fanta, water and peanuts! No issues with the wifi connection all week. We enjoyed hanging out in the Punta Cana lobby at night as the entertainment was great! Every few minutes we would have our drinks replenished and was asked if there was anything else needed. The only bad thing I can say was how long of a wait there was when we arrived and were checking in.. more staff was needed for that process as there was an entire bus load of people that they were expecting to arrive and only two people working the front counter. Over all, this was an amazing trip, staff was very friendly, service was good! Would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

We came to the Grand Palladium in Punta Cana for my birthday celebration and a much needed break. The location is great in the Bavarro Beach area is beautiful but the resort itself is horrible. This is their slow season, not sure if that is why the service all the way around is so poor. Our room had AC and electrical problems with the breaker cutting on and off every 5-10 min, a leaky refrigerator. Just a hot mess. Cost of the room is $300 US a night so it’s not cheap. Due to covid pandemic or maybe being the slow season most of the restaurants on the property were closed. So forcing every guest only one option to have most meals. There were two other restaurants open with reservations only and they had minimal available appointments. The one restaurant that most guests had access to daily has poor food quality, it
is just really really bad. We had to get up and leave on a couple of occasions without eating. The all inclusive part that they advertise is also a huge scam. There are extra fees for room service which on our case we tried to use due to the restaurant available had really bad food. Also other fees for wine bottles, or to access the pool area at the spa amongst other fees. The bars on the property heavily waters down the alcohol they serve. Extremely weak cocktails. You can’t even taste or smell any alcoholic content in the drinks that you order and the drinks tasted like diluted versions of themselves.
There is a supposedly high end version hotel on the property called the TRS, which is an adult only hotel so not sure if that hotel is better then the Grand Palladium hotels but try that one instead if you are planning to visit Punta Cana.

We were at the GP Punta Cana from Jan 20-27. We were a group of 25 here to celebrate my nieces wedding which had been booked since Aug 2019.
When we arrived our reception was as if they had no idea we were coming so disorganized taking forever to assign our rooms which upon booking had been asked to keep the group together. That was not the case we were all over 6525, 6012, 2000 not happy.
Our room 6525 was old. The sliding doors to the closet did not slide. The bathroom big bathtub wit a wooden box to get in to shower and a hand shower with water leaking all over the floor. The bed had a plastic cover and a thin sheet to cover you no blanket. When I asked guest service the women just looked at me with no response. I never received the blanket. The buffet lack of quality food and when you sat down they walked by you like you were invisible .
Never have I ever encountered such unpleasant and unfriendly staff.
We went to Japanese restaurant to see the show but there was no show someone needs to show them what a show actually is. Our buffet was closed in the evening and if you did not get to the restaurant by 6:30 then you could never get a place.
We went to the Italian service not good chairs cracked and the whole place old.
As for entertainment lack of information you never knew what was going on and where.
I have seen the reviews for this hotel and I wonder if I was at the same hotel.
Overall this was not a good vacation and I will never come back and never recommend this hotel.
Very very disappointed considering a lot of the reviews were 5 star....

Arrived late February for two weeks winter break, check in was quick, taken to block 72 the room was clean, view was quite ordinary, overlooking a walkway, trees and opposite accommodations. Nice and quiet, comfortable. Biggest drawback is the access to the shower/bath,too high too wide and very poorly designed. Also glass walls too a bathroom not really acceptable. The cleaners and drinks person did a great job.
The site is huge, but after two days you get to find your way around, for the infirm there are trains and buggies but they only go around the perimeter an you don’t really get to know the place.
All of the swimming pools are good, all have similar facilities, all are kept clean, and all have entertainment. The entertainment teams worked very hard but were never intrusive and always friendly.
The coffee bar at the palace is very good and our favourite lunches were had at the Poseidon.
The Catederal was the best of the Buffet restaurants, the al la carte restaurants were all pretty good and the system of just turning up and waiting for a table works quite well, in 2 weeks the longest wait we had was 20 minutes. The Japanese tepinyaki is the only restaurant you have to book but it is well worth a visit.
All of the lobby bars are ok they all have limited entertainment every night ,the Adults only Hemingway Bar served the best drinks. Drinks around the pools were sugary sweet and not great.
A lot has been said about the sellers at this hotel and I have never seen so many in a hotel before, but they were never pushy and a polite no thanks was acceptable. The hawkers on the beach were more pushy and if you were on a sun bed they were difficult to get rid of.
All things considered we have had a good holiday here but I have a complaint, it may appear petty to some but here goes...Breakfasts at the Behique buffet were great, good choices of either cooked or continental adequate drinks, clean airy most of the staff were O.K. but Spoons??? Every day you provide porridge, cereals, tea, coffee etc for hundreds of people but only 12 spoons!! Then you have to find the right waiter to fetch one from the spoon safe which takes an age. Unbelievable.
Would I come back to this hotel, all things considered yes but I would bring my own Spoons.

We stayed at the palladium palace spa and casino which is all part of the complex and we loved it so this year we stayed at the palladium Punta Cana apart from the room change because it spelt of damp we were moved to another room. The pools and pool staff were great always asking if all was ok restaurants were always clean food great Japanese fabulous this time we went twice great fun.
Can’t fault anything apart from the poor cleaner had loads of rooms to clean she did a great job but they need more staff to clean rooms three times we went back to the room and it wasn’t done the last time we cleaned it for her she was lovely but the hotel needs to get more cleaners apart from that we will be coming back next year

Huge property, with the four hotels side by side (sharing most amenities and restaurants). Nicely landscaped throughout. Friendly staff. My junior suite was well appointed, modern and very comfortable.

Generally good food but some execution problems exists with more ambitious dishes not familiar to local staff/chefs. Huge selection at breakfast and lunch buffets but not refreshed enough (and bacon ALWAYS runs out early for breakfast). But lots of on demand dishes too like eggs, pancakes, and fresh juices at breakfast and all kinds of grilled meats, fish, pasta at lunch.

A la carte restaurants are mostly good but don’t expect fine dining quality (although some dishes are exceptional). Best dish was the fish main course at Portofino and rip eye steak at El Dorado (but avoid the octopus). Single worst dish was the sweetbreads (I should have know, given the unusualness of the dish) at La Paisana (which didn’t have many highlights at all and is perhaps best avoided). The Mexican restaurant La Adelita had much to enjoy and should be on your list.

Bars were quite good and serve drinks in proper glassware when at the main bars or restaurants and hard plastic ten oz. glasses outside and around the beach and pools (so you can leave the Bubba at home). Availability of liquor and mixes really varies by bar, which can be a bit frustrating (I didn’t learn that there actually was Clamato until a couple days before my trip ended. And Campari ran out at the bars (that had it) around the same time). But most bars had and made real mojitos, which was great (I was once served a “mojito” made from lime mix and creme de menthe at another resort when they ran out of both limes (?!!!) and mint ... as awful as it sounds).

Pools were fine but maximum depth was only 1.5M and around 1M nearer the pool bars. Not great if you actually want to swim and not just sit around. Getting lounge chairs at the pools or on the beach was never a problem.

Only real issue I had was that the evenings were too quite and not conducive to meeting people. Everyone headed out to dinner around duck and so things didn’t pick up again until until after ten. But all activity was in the hotel lobbies, which are just too huge and bright for any kind of an intimate environment. So if you want to meet people, good luck. What is desperately needed is smaller bars throughout the premises that are much more comfortable and conducive to meeting people (it can be done Palladium, many hotels do it).

This place was great but the spa tries to get you for more money at the end of your stay. When we flew with sunwing, they gave us a coupon for $50 USD off Spa services which some others in our family did not receive. Now if you dont receive your coupon , they say you can go to the lobby to get your coupon. When you get to the lobby, they conveniently dont have any left. However, we luckily had ours and gave it at the spa check-in. It was a wonderful experience and beautiful spa! However, upon checkin out at the end of our stay, the cost went from $55 USD to $180 USD! Now, after waiting in the lobby for over an hour then again at the spa so they can check security cameras to make sure we indeed did give the coupon at Spa check-in (another 30 mins) they finally gave us the final price of our $55 USD. The El Dorado (steakhouse) and the Paisana (Argentinian) restaurants were definitely worth going to. Everything else was a 6/10 at best. Rest of resort was great. Going to the Melia next week. I'll let you know if it's any better.

Well where do I start
I returned to palladium chain after an amazing stay in Mexico hotel but was very disappointed with this hotel. I would say more 3star then 5 for room quality

Spent 45 min at check in with man trying to get us to upgrade our room after politely declined we were escorted to our junior sweet immediately I was concerned this appeared very low grade for a sweet. Daughters bed was not made and bell boy stated he would arrange this, safe was not working, only one towel, one flannel and the bath was dirty curtains did not close properly I asked 6 times for bed to be made from 4pm two men came at 12 pm chucked sheets on bed and left, I had to call every day to get mini bar topped as this was not always done. 6 days into our holiday we had water leaking threw light in bathroom I reported at 6 pm staff were incredibly rude and moved us finally by 1130 pm I spent a hole evening packing and arguing about the move. We were moved to a room with no air con another broken safe with a generator buzzing outside all night we were told this was just for tonight and would be moved again the next day. We were moved 4pm following day to the other side of the resort with a much much nicer room witch I would say was more junior sweet then previous two rooms.

Hotel in general was very clean very nice and most of the staff was friendly and helpful. Since I did not speak the language I felt we were overlooked when it came time to order at the pool bars either ignored or was last to be served even though I was there before the others.

Staff can speak English well but really lack understanding of English

They seemed to be more interested in the Spanish and Americans it appeared money talked and if you tipped they would come to you at the pool and ask what drinks you would like of you didn’t you would be ignored

Kids club had lots going on but staff spoke very limited English as did children that attended so daughter refused to go

Food was a bit hit and Miss buffet restaurant had an abundance of choice but lots of the food was very salty ither restraints again hit and Miss food orders often got confused with wrong food arrive long and some days service was amazing and other days you wait 30min for drinks and food orders to be taken

Entertainment was absolutely brilliant if I had one complaint it would be the beach party the staff were wearing thonged outfits but twerking and grinding in children's presents I felt was a bit wrong

I had an ok holiday but would say this is not 5 star and very disappointed as my expectations were high due to such fabulous stay in Mexico im afraid I won’t be returning to palladium chain again and will be advising friends and family also to avoid very expensive for what you get.

Seaweed tends to be worse in the summer. It comes in waves so you never know if its going to hit at a particular place and time or not. You may time it perfectly, or horribly. Two miles away conditions could be quite different. The resort does a good job of cleaning up the beach every morning, but it can still come in during the day or just be out in the water. As for the weather, probably hot with chance of rain shower...and impossible to predict tropical systems....
