I reserved at this hotel on the basis of the reviews from (-), and from the website of Summer Place Baguio (-).
On choosing the rooms based from the hotel webiste, I chose a triple suite because it said that there were three queen beds. With six of us in the family, this was perfect for us.
Reservation was easy enough from Manila. (Tel number ----. Baguio number is ----). The lady said that for weekends, the rate was P2,200 and I felt this was reasonable.
I paid the reservation in Manila in cash, through their Summer Place Hotel account in Metrobank. Once paid, they gave me a confirmation letter by e-mail. Everything was set and we were ready to go!
When we reached Baguio, and checked out the rooms, I was very disappointed that there were only two queen size beds.
I verbalized my disappointment because with six family members (two teens and two children, plus my husband and I) could not possibly fit in with two queen size beds. Renting two extra single beds would cost an additional P1,400 (each single bed would cost P700).
At first, the staff would not relent until I insisted to see the website in their hotel computer, and lo and behold, when I clicked the page for the triple suite, it really indicated that there were three queen size beds.
My husband then gave two choices to the hotel - either we get a refund of the P2,200 we paid or the hotel can either add two single beds with no additional charge.
After a lot of stewing from our end for around thirty minutes, and a lot of negotiations with the staff with (I would guess- the higher bosses of the hotel), we were finally told that we could get the additional two single beds with no additional charge.
After this mix-up, the hotel turned to be ok when we checked in that night. The hotel room was thoroughly cleaned up, with sheets changed. It even felt warmer, than when we just arrived in the morning.
It is not a 5 or a 4 star hotel, let me make that clear. The lady in reservation promised a room with a nice view, but there was really no view at all, except for Marcos highway, and some dreary houses below.
The interior design was a bit uneven, with not the best of craftsmanship I've seen, uneven paint on the ceiling, uneven tiles on the bathroom, rug on the floor which had seen better days.The hotel looked like one of those hotels in Kowloon, Hong Kong. To complete the 'Chinois' effect, almost all the guests we saw were Korean tourists.
But the hotel's saving grace were the sizes of the rooms which were quite big, and the bathrooms which were large and roomy (the size of that bathroom must be one hotel room in New York or Tokyo at skyrocket prices). The water supply was very good, with the water heating up quickly. They supplied us with four huge, clean towels everyday which was quite nice.
There were huge cabinets for all your suitcases, and shoes and a big cabinet for the TV (with cable) and ref.
What I liked most of all was that when we arrived at night, the hotel was all aglow with bright, cheery lights. They didn't skimp on electriciy, so that at night, it looked cheerful, and the place safe. The corridors were well lit, and the lobby was inviting to everyone. There was a visible, but friendly guard who helps the guests too.
What was also nice was the 24 hour store that was open right beside the hotel, in case you needed to get anything for emergency purposes.
The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming too. They were very nice even if I complained a lot at the start.
On the whole, we enjoyed our stay there because we were comfortable. I don't think you can get a room that big at that price.
At the last day of our stay, we were asked to write in our comments, and I told them that they should change the data on their webiste because it was misleading to the public.

If that is indeed the price, then it's a bit high, and I might rather stay at the Manor Hotel at Camp John Hay.
My family and I discovered another hotel that you might all want to check in. There's this great Inn called Mile Hile Inn inside Camp John Hay. Each room has a single queen sized bed with one double decker bed. The rooms are quite small, but it has a bathroom and TV/cable. It costs P1,800 per day. It's in the same cluster of buildings where you can find Dencio's at Mile High. You can walk around Camp John Hay, and within walking distance of the Manor Hotel and a number of restaurants. You can check that one too. I had the number but can't find it now. But you can call Dencio's at Camp John Hay and ask for the number because I found out later on that they are owned by one family only.

Whoever recommends this hotel must be either wacko or has some business/vested interest in this place. I stayed there recently and was very disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is used to the standard of a Holiday Inn or above.

My inlaws live along Marcos Highway so each time I visit Baguio I would always see this hotel. It's hard to miss because it lights up like a Christmas tree each night. Me and my wife took the standard room since and boy we were mislead by the pictures. We were escorted to the 2nd floor. The hotel is on the side of the mountain with the lobby being the highest floor of the hotel (7th floor). The rooms are on the bottom floor, so yes you are going down not up. Our first initial room was on the second floor which I call the basement, we had to take two elevators to get to the second floor. Our room was next to an two double doors leading outside, and the doors were open when to the outside when we checked in at 9:00pm. My wife was horrified for our safety since no security at the floor and even more so with the room. It looked like a basement room void of life. The moisture from the air dampened the cold tiled floors. It was sooooo cold that even trying to take a shower was a chore. We decided to change rooms immediately but we were told we need to pay $30.00 per night more to upgrade to the suite on the 5th floor. We agreed since we were so tired. So the 5th floor is carpeted and feels more warm. Our room was big and spacious that I could do my exercises with no problem. We had a veranda but unfortunately it was shaded with a thick plastic to prevent the rain, so never really used it. Bathroom huge but hot water from shower flowed slowly. TV too small and too far from bed. Sheets on bed were too thin so we requested and extra blanket. Hair dryer does not work and I hated having to enter a different code each day to use their wifi. You need to get vouchers since the code for the wifi expires every 24 hrs. They gave me vouchers were the code was invalid, it was annoying. My wife couldn't get use to the damp carpet smell of all the rooms of the 5th floor so we bought a some air fresheners. Dining area was beautiful and had an awesome view but breakfast failed in so many ways. You have rice, 1 choice for meat (sweet or regular),and 1 single egg prepared the way you want. Meals were often served lukewarm which gave a feeling that it was not freshly prepared. Coffee tasted odd, tasted like they use tap water. Water tasted metallic and minerally. Customer service was good but I did not enjoy the room and breakfast so we will not return back to this hotel.

We staid there for 2 nights and chose to take the expensive Junior suite for 3,500 pesos which is 1,000 more than their standard rooms. The reason for that choice was their promise that wifi internet would be available there.
I had wifi receiption maybe 2 or 3 hours of the day, it stopped working in the evening and started at about late afternoon to work again. The staff tried to fix the problem but all their expert could do is show me a wifi signal at about 6 feet high (should I sit on the TV to operate my laptop?).
The rooms are big but a little bit outdated, the douvets are stinky. Once you enter the room, you have to sign a paper confirming the contents of the room, towels, glasses, sheets etc. Never seen anything like that.
The shower fluctuated from hot to cold every 10 seconds, so you really have to be careful not to get burned. The matresses are too hard, loud noise from neighbours during the night, maybe a Karaokee bar or so.
On our last day we tried the breakfast (200 pesos each plus 58 pesos for each cup of coffee). Upon entering the breakfast room, we already heard some guests complaining about the length of time it takes to get their food. Some guests ordered the next cup of coffee or the check ahead of time, just to make sure it doesnt take 30 minutes to get the next cup of coffee. The staff doesnt seem to know how to make a basic cup of coffee. They are just standing around discussing what to do while the manager is asking the guests if everything ok!?
I ordered the spanish omelette which was smoothered in ketchup and another white sauce. It came with white toast which was very hard and untasty. I was hungry, so I ate the omelette. Later in the day we flew to Hong Kong. During the flight I developed bowl pain and it got worse during the day. I had to call a doctor in to the hotel where we staid and he diagnosed food poisening from the omelette I ate earlier in the day. It cost me $200 US and still now after 2 days I feel pain.
I contacted the manager at the Summer Place and all he could say is that he would fire the staff involved.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

The past three reviews from others say it all. I should have listened!!!
I am following this complaint up with the Baguio Dept of Tourism and the Hotel and Restaurant Assoc of Baguio.
Never pay for your room in advance at this place. They will never give you a refund for any reason. "We have no refund policy"...Seems they think they are running an airline.
To start off, they tried to double the price on arrival, but they eventually agreed to the original quote (the ONLY thing they did right). Then, no internet service and no TV remote (apparently they were all given out), and as the others said no shampoo, soap or other other amenities. (For the money they charge, the room should come fully stocked...this is NOT a budget hotel. Warm water in the shower was barely working.
The hotel staff are untrained as to taking care of customers. They walk around the halls at night and early AM banging cleaning gear, talking and laughing loudly, and one idiot has his radio turned up on high so EVERYONE can hear it. The only thing worse that the staff were the other customers who let their kids run wild in the hall at 4:30am. The door banging was a sport to these idiots.
The fact that it was their staff was so bad, I demanded my money back as I was not staying there in Hell a second night. They called their boss three times, and each time said no refund. I told them repeatedly it was their staff was the reason I was leaving and if I did not get a refund it was equal to stealing since I paid and was not staying there. I also told them I would write a bad review here and initiate a complaint with the Dept of Tourism....each time I got the same braindead response of "Our policy is no refunds". These people have no idea how to run a proper business.

We were supposed to stay at this place last March. I called them up a week earlier before going to Baguio to ask for rates. Then a day before going to Baguio, I called them up again and the staff assured me that they have a confirmed room for me. That there will be no problem at all. That I do not have to deposit anything into their bank account for reservation (since it will be a waste of time and I was sure i was going to be there.) The lady I talked to assured me that I do not need to deposit any! When we went there, the room that I got was not available. The staff kept on insisting on giving us this room without any window. My goshhhhh, a room without a window! Scary, isn't it? Claustrophobic too! They couldn't even give us this other room (which was supposed to be at a higher rate) for the same rate that we had agreed too on the original room that I booked. Bad service, right? If this was another hotel, it would have given into my request since they were at fault. but they didn't. Talk aboout hospitality, the summer place way.
Don't book at summer place if you do not want to spend half of your day looking for another hotel with an empty room! A promise is a promise eh, we didn't need to deposit any eh.
Luckily, we got another hotel and it was a lot better than summer place. A way lot better!

We made a reservation at this hotel based on what we read in this advisory. It is far from being a five star hotel in any way, shape or form.If you do decide to try this hotel, take up the hotels offer to view the rooms first. We did and headed directly to Camp John Hay Manor. Any comparison between these two hotels is incomprehensible. The grounds alone at Camp John Hay are worth the extra pesos.

We stayed at one of their suite rooms, price tag around P3695.00.

My wife and I stayed for one night. hoping that they offer a better accommodation. We were mistaken. Service was really bad, it seems that the bellman doubled as the security doubled as the room wait person and everything else in between. Breakfast was limited to cold eggs and rice with 5 rinky dink meat portions.
Travellers should avoid this place at all cost.

I found this hotel through searching from internet then i call and inquire regarding the room rates. I get triple standard good for 3 person and they have promo 50% discount. I love the room very big very comfortable especially the CR. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast food was great especially the coffee. i love it. Kung babalik ako sa Baguio dito uli ako mag check in.

It was a Penagbenga Festive season so all the hotels were booked. So we thought to booked this hotel with very minimum expectation and booked this hotel a month before, but it was just pathetic and did not meet with a single expectation.
As we entered in the reception lobby it was stinky. We asked for a room but it was not as shown while booking online. Rooms were not cleaned and hygienic. Staff was untrained. Manager was not present for 3hrs at the time we visited their. These all the things annoyed us and we asked Agoda to refund our money and we tried to found another hotel at last the moment.
