This was our second stay at Schooner Point and it was as fantastic as the first. We stayed for the new year celebrations in Looe which were amazing!
The location of Schooner Point is great for exploring Looe and the surrounding areas. Our room , Foredeck, had everything you need and little extras like chocolates, bath robes, slippers, sewing kit plus an amazing view of Looe estuary. The room was spotless, tidied and cleaned each day, and breakfast is gorgeous, I especially enjoy the hogs pudding and scrabbles egg! Paula and Tom are fantastic hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they and very welcoming. We have definitely left as friends and look forward to our next stay at Schooner Point! 🙂

It was great to welcome Darren and yourself back to Schooner Point for New Year. We are pleased you entered into the spirit with your costumes and that we managed to meet up with you on the night. We were very impressed that you took part in The New Years day dip and raised so much sponsorship for Looe RNLI's new life boat. That means a lot. We always look forward to friends visiting us and are happy to know that you will be back.

The friendly, personal and attentive involvement of the owners makes this the perfect example as how to run a Bed and Breakfast. The accommodation and public areas are immaculate throughout; without a doubt the cleanest Bed and Breakfast I have ever visited.

As a single person I stayed in the Crows Nest a small single room, but more than ample for me. The room was not ensuite but I had exclusive use of a generous bathroom with powerful shower opposite the room. A gown and slippers provided.

The breakfast was of excellent quality using only local ingredients. There was a buffet including fruit juices, fresh summer fruits served with honey yogurt, cereals etc. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the buffet was served to you rather than help yourself. This was followed by the option of a cooked Cornish breakfast or smoked salmon.

From the friendly welcome to the moment I left I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Schooner Point Bed and Breakfast. I cannot recommend more highly.

Just one recommendation reverse into the parking space to avoid scrapping your car due to the short but steep slope up

If you are worried about travelling to Looe due to Covid-19, don’t be. Whilst there is little evidence of social distancing in the narrow streets (Fore Street and Quay Street in particular) there are alternative walking routes and all pubs and restaurants were strictly enforcing social distancing and following government guidance so you are probably safer in a pub or restaurant than in some of the more popular streets. You do however need to book most restaurants several weeks ahead of your visit.

I don't think I have ever left a review before for any holiday, I normally forget too quickly and then things get in the way, so I hope this speaks volumes! Paula and Tom were amazing hosts, always on hand for travel advice, sightseeing information or just a safety pin to pin back a dress! I can't speak highly enough of them, from the first minute they were open, friendly and full of enthusiasm not just for Cornwall but for us as guests as well. It goes a long way when you're made to feel appreciated and not as just another cheque. We were in the Anchorage Room which was perfectly sized, had a genuinely comfy bed (appreciated every night after so much walking/climbing) and a light airy bathroom with fluffy towels (again very much appreciated). Breakfast was fantastic and perfectly portioned, and I believe adjusted slightly for a small eater and the biscuit jar in the room was thankfully kept full! I really cannot do more than fully recommend Schooner Point to all visitors to Looe!
The location is great, we travelled around a lot but for anyone who wishes to stay more local there are plenty of restaurants in Looe and Polperro is just 5 minutes down the road.
We with both Tom and Paula all the best and look forward to staying again in the future!
Scott and Daisy.

Thank you Scott for such a kind and thoughtful review. We feel that holidays should be special times and we like to think we can make a difference for our guests if they need help or advice. It is good to hear that your room was comfy and that breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed, we can always adjust portion size for smaller appetites. We really would like to think we will see hurricane Daisy and yourself again and are delighted by your recommendation.

During the Covid Pandemic, I have been apprehensive about travel/ holidays, but I must say that from arrival right throughout my stay, I could not have faulted Schooner Point Guesthouse, and I absolutely commend the owners, Tom & Paula! All social distancing measures have been put in place, hand sanitisers throughout, clean cups and tea/ coffee trays to the rooms and separate booked times for the dining room. The place was immaculate and they have even gone to the measures of steam cleaning the bathrooms. As ever, fantastic hosts, amazing food and I adore the panoramic views of Looe from the guesthouse. They’ve recently had a decking area installed to the front of the property overlooking the Looe Estuary and it’s fantastic to sit out on with a fresh cup of coffee. My thanks to Schooner Point for another memorable and enjoyable holiday. 5 stars from me.

Thank you Harry for visiting us again and taking the time to write a review for us. It is rewarding to hear that a returning guest has found our efforts to deal with the Covid 19 situation have been well received. We have found the breakfast "slots" are working well to allow us to maintain social distancing. The deck area that was built during lockdown has proven to be very popular with our guests and enhances the Schooner Point experience.

We were so pleased to see our room upon arrival. The view is stunning and the room is absolutely lovely. The decor throughout the guesthouse is both modern and chic, making it feel like a real treat to be there. The room was spotless and had a hairdryer, tv and lovely chairs to sit on. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well!

The tea tray was great, with a lovely jar of biscuits. We were able to sit in the bay window to have our coffee and enjoy the view. The toiletries provided were of a high standard, not the usual cheap stuff, and we also had plenty of towels as well as dressing gowns and slippers.

The hosts were very friendly, and cooked us a wonderful, generous breakfast. We had the pastries and a cooked breakfast and enjoyed them both. Our breakfast view was also lovely, and the breakfast room itself is decorated beautifully.

We parked in the nearest car park which did mean walking up a hill (but you’re told this when booking the property). The machine was broken so it was free for us, but normally costs £5 for the day. Apart from the hill, it is a great location as you get both the view of the river and privacy, as well as being able to walk straight into Looe for dinner etc.

This was such a lovely stay and we would absolutely come again, as well as recommending this place to others!

Well, what can we say but thank you for such a glowing review. We are on a hill, but most of Cornwall is, which gives us such wonderful views up the estuary and across to East Looe. It is heartening to hear that you would recommend us to others and look forward to your next visit.

Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay with a friend at Schooner Point Guest House which we thoroughly enjoyed. Paula and Tom were so welcoming on arrival and took time to talk us through the new COVID-19 measures they had in place, which were comprehensive and very reassuring.

From the location in Looe overlooking the estuary to the lovely appointed dining room and stairways - all beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean to our spacious but cozy twin bedroom and private bathroom - again tastefully decorated and clean.

The addition of two comfy chairs gave us many opportunities to just sit and admire the stunning views of the estuary and watch the world go by as we drank herbal teas and ate chocolate biscuits thoughtfully supplied by Paula and Tom.

The new decking addition for guests to sit and relax proved to be a great platform for our early morning yoga practice, thankfully warmed by the rising sun. Followed by a relaxed breakfast, well organised and served by Tom (wearing mask) with a range of cereals, fruit and delicious vegetarian cooked breakfast by Paula.

Coming back to the guesthouse after long days of walking was very welcome and the experience made all the better by Paula and Tom's thoughtfulness, attention to detail, advice and recommendations for sightseeing, walks and restaurants and friendly, relaxed and warm approach.

I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Schooner Point to anyone and hope to return again some day.

Thank you both for a lovely stay.

We are thrilled that Raquel and yourself enjoyed your stay with us and that you felt safe and comfortable here. The deck was only built during lock down and the fact that you took advantage of it is rewarding. Covid 19 is very real for us and we feel it is important to keep all our guests and, indeed, us safe. W e hope to see you again if you are ever down this way.

Just returned from a three night break at this fabulous B&B. The owners Tom and Paula are the perfect hosts, the room was excellent, we had the ‘lookout’ with beautiful views of the estuary and looe town , a huge super king bed which was so comfortable, I had the best three nights sleep this year. The room was also spacious enough to have two lounge style chairs to take in the beautiful view , plenty of drawer and wardrobe space , with an excellent well provisioned en-suite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The whole B&B was exceptionally clean and extremely COVID compliant . The choice for breakfast is again excellent, fresh fruit, cereal, toast cooked breakfast , basically they catered for your every need. I took full advantage of the ‘Full Cornish ‘ cooked breakfast on all three mornings, all freshly prepared and include, bacon, egg, sausage , hogs pudding, black pudding, fresh grilled tomato, mushrooms and baked beans, plenty of tea and coffee plus toast and marmalade . My good lady wife who chose the more healthier option , went for various cereals over the three days, fresh fruit and yoghurt plus tea , toast and marmalade.
This is the first time we have stayed here , however it won’t be our last , already started looking at dates for next year. Without question this place is excellent value for money and a lovely comfortable B&B guest house, and I would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in this part of Cornwall or use as a base to explore the wider area. Well done Tom and Paula , hope to see you again soon , Dave & Jackie
