The Grand Resort is celebrated for its inviting atmosphere, boasting a warm environment with a pristine pool and spacious rooms. While set in a prime location near attractions and beaches, opinions on its value vary, as some guests find it economical despite others pointing out unexpected charges and inconsistent service. The hotel's amenities, including various dining options, generally receive praise, though charges for Wi-Fi are a drawback for some. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with meticulous rooms and facilities. However, there are occasional mentions of maintenance issues in the rooms.

A very pleasant and well organized and maintained complex. The resort offers a large number of pools for swimming, the only problem is that the sunbeds are occupied by people who are not at the pool. The beach is very pleasant and clean, the atmosphere is constantly disturbed only by sellers of services (excursions, haircuts, tattoos, drinks, etc.). We consider the biggest minus to be the lack of mineral water, which the room boys are supposed to replenish daily, but this does not apply until you ask for the water yourself. Nowhere else in the resort is there free bottled water for takeout, only on the beach next door at the hotel, which is a bummer. another minus is the excessive busyness of the Marrakesh restaurant, which is free as part of the all-inclusive package. During lunch and dinner it is very difficult to find a free table, cutlery is not available, you have to wait for someone from the staff to bring it to you, which takes too long. The possibility of food is also available in ala carte restaurants, but this selection is very limited. Other meals are for an exorbitant surcharge. Another minus is poor hygiene, they didn't have time to wash the tables, there were leftovers everywhere, the glasses of water smelled like beer. We also recommend to buy mobile data at the airport or from the delegate, the wifi at the reception is very weak and there are many people connected. You also have to take into account the heat at night, the air conditioner in the room does not have time to cool the room, when you leave it on at night it blows directly on the bed. In summary, we enjoyed our vacation, the landscape is beautiful, the weather is perfect, the resort is big and there are pools for everyone, and also thanks to the helpful staff.

I just love this place!
After a speedy check-in I was escorted to my room along with a very useful map of the Grand Resort. For me, it was then a quick visit to the Pergola bar to meet some of the very friendly staff who I had got to know on previous visits. They welcomed me back effusively and it felt like being in my second home. The staff, including the manager, Mohamed, go out of their way to ensure customers enjoy themselves.
Off back to my room, I found the beds extremely comfortable and I slept very well.
There are many restaurants in the Grand Resort some of which are buffets and others that are a la carte and where you pay for drinks. There are also various eateries for snacks, pizza and sweet treats. The buffets are well stocked and serve a variety of international cuisine.
The room is cleaned daily and towels are bedding are regularly changed.
The beach is just across the road through the lobby of the sister hotel and it's a great place to swim and snorkel or soak up some rays; but watch sun, it gets extremely hot and I saw plenty of people with sunburn.
There is a show a couple of nights per week with belly dancers and whirling dervishes etc.
Overall, this is a great place that is a little frayed at the edges, but with, probably, the best staff in Hurghada. I'll be back

As the name suggests this is a large resort and some of the problems I could highlight are because of the size.
We visited the main buffet restaurant (Marakesh) on our first evening and left vowing never to go there again - there weren’t enough tables for the amount of guests and the tables that were available hadn’t been cleared, were often sticky and dirty and the first chair I sat on was broken. There weren’t enough personal to serve the drinks and it wasn’t clear where to get our own drinks. The food was also nothing to write home about. Turns out that the best thing to do is to book a table at one of the a la carte restaurants at least a day in advance. The Mediterranean one was by far the best with great service and delicious food. The others were also worth a visit. Each restaurant has a party night but we didn’t feel this was worth the extra money.
For lunch the best option is the Water front - we enjoyed really great service there.
The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms were a good size and the air conditioning was a welcome relief from the August Egyptian heat.
The pools were also a great way to cool off but there definitely aren’t enough loungers for the amount of guests at the hotel. But it was impressive that the young men who put out the loungers removed towels from beds that weren’t being used.
We enjoyed using the beach at the sister hotel The Grand Hotel and there were definitely enough beds there.
Overall we had a nice week at the Grand Resort but sadly had to give a miss to the chaos of the all inclusive buffet which was something we had been looking forward to.

Second time of visiting here.
Just had a week the first time but happy to go back for two weeks and not disappointed.
The waiters even recognised us and greeted us with a hand shake and a hug.
Remember that wages here are very low and that people rely heavily on tips. Staff are happy to accept £1 coins and this seems to grease the wheels of service when done regularly.
It's not expensive so don't expect 5 star luxury but for me, it's great.
Can't wait to go back.

This hotel, like many others in the world struggled after Covid to gets its game up to 4 star standards but I am happy to say that following my recent holiday all is as it should be. No problems whatsoever with cups glasses cutlery or shortages of staff in any area.
The rooms are dated, but this is a solid elderly hotel which benefits from thick walls, beautiful landscaping and traditional decor. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. Towels are available when you want them for both the pool and the bathroom.
Bar service at the Pergola bar was prompt and I never saw any shortages however a couple of nights it was cooler and not comfortable to sit outside, but the table service in the lounge area was very prompt.
Food, the main buffet restaurant is being updated and due to open shortly and looks fabulous, there is a new coffee shop where you can buy hot drinks around £2.50 each with free cakes as part of the AI offering.
I was returning the this hotel for the 8th time following the death of my husband and the staff treated me with kindness and courtesy, I really felt welcome and cared for. I know many people say there are too many extra party nights but you don't have to participate and the extra cost of 14 euro is very good value for money especially as the hotel does not have any real animation as you see in Spanish hotels and the salmon fillet very good.
My room had an up to date flat screen TV showing CNN news and English films for those evenings where as a solo traveller I did not want to just in the bar.
The Orange bar, the other bar situated indoors, is only open from 9pm which is a shame as the space is lovely however, when it is open it is noisy with the animation team playing music that is perhaps not suited to the demography but the 'shows' they put on are amusing if that is your thing.
There are lots of options for eating and this can be a bit daunting with three options for breakfast, four for lunch and 8 for dinner. I particularly enjoyed my meals at Nigma fully AI and Mumbai Indian restaurant where you can eat AI or a la carte but pay for drinks.
This hotel really comes into its own at night and the atmosphere it wonderful with lighting creating a wonderful effect.
Sunbeds are readily available and a small tip is much appreciated by all staff.
All in all a great holiday, may not chose February again as the wind stopped a couple of excursions that I had planned.

As mentioned the room and weather were great, but unfortunately this where it stops.
In the hotel you are constantly being pestered into booking treatment, going to a restaurant for the evening and wanting tips for everything including grabbing you bag on the beach and finding a sun bed for you.
It was our 10th wedding anniversary and the hotel made a big deal of doing something special for us, all this turned out to be was some rose petals on the table, the food was the same and once they did the initial order the staff never cam back as we hadn't left a tip for them after.
Do not believe the all inclusive, everything is not paid for. We booked for a traditional Egyptian evening which consisted of a some dancing and failing to take into account what you had pre-booked for your meal. My wife is vegetarian and her starter had meat in it, as did her main course. by this point we had kind of given up as they just didn't seem to care.
Almost every evening the bars had run out of glasses and you had a paper cup with 3/4 froth and a 1/4 beer, not enough chairs.
On the last day as I asked if the exchange desk could give me some smaller notes so we could give the cleaner a tip as he had been fantastic all the way through, the guy refused so I gave the cleaner all our remaining Egyptian money which really upset the clerk, so he then cut our wristbands off, which meant we couldn't get anything to drink for 3 hours.

We travelled as a couple in September 2019 and stayed for a week. It's not Europe's 5*, but we were quiet surprised because honestly, we didn't expect so much. The resort is so beautiful and all of the staff are extremely kind and they will surely help you with everything you might need during your vacation. Food is okay, everyone can find something tasty. We enjoyed breakfast the most, there is this guy that makes perfect omelettes. Our room was pretty spacious, air conditioning works well and you can get bottled water whenever you need. At every moment we felt safe and didn't need to worry about anything. Definitely would reccomend and hope to visit again in the future.

The room was booked for 3 persons, prepared for 2. It was difficult to make the staff understand while 3 persons require 3 beds.
The door lock was defective, we had to ask 3 times for the repair - was never perfect, took 20-30 seconds to get into the room. Safe was broken, staff easily picked that up (no fixture at all) and replace. Got continuously less towels than required (incl both room and beach ones). Beer served in 1.25ml paper cup, half foam and warm. When the rum ran out I was supposed to accept brandy without asking. Dirty bedchlotes. Whisky was like poison. Food everyday the same. Disgusting bathroom curtain and tube. Missing fugue from the blocks/tiles. Faulty lamp cover.
Last but not least and most importantly: arguing and rude staff in the cafeteria.

Pool was awesome.

Overall experience was average, but will never return for sure.

First i would like to praise Haitham Shalaby for hospitality and professionalism.
He stays here all day, but his tiredness is not visible. Everyone is treated the same,if you let some bakshish or not. He is always here if you need help.
Food is great and healthy, everybody can find food for himselfs, they have a lot of choice. Drinks is also always fresh and cold.
the environment is very nicely arranged, especially at the night.
the receptionists are very pleasant.
Chief animator is very funny and energetic you can really see that he enjoys his work.
If we come back to Egypt, our choice will be The Grand Resort Hurghada. We will recommend your destination to Croatian people.

For 4 stars you should improve the internet in the room and the television.

We don't understand one thing, what is all included in that 2,000€ if for all this things they expect from you bakshish every day, and if you don’t let one day or if you give “only” one or two € you can see angry faces.

Infront of the hotel is a very nice sidewalk, but you can't walk 2 meters in peace because sellers are pulling you in all directions.

We went there for a week with all inclusive. The food wasn't good at all, despite 1-2 dishes changing, it was the same food every day. The hotel outside is beautiful, but inside is all old and not very nice. Our room's view was to the reconstruction of one side of the hotel, every time I had to hang the towels outside to dry they would be dusty also impossible to sit at the balcony. During the meals was almost impossible to get a drink or clean cutlery (as they were not available for costumers to take, you needed to ask to the staff) and the glasses they would bring the drink on were small so I had to ask many times (this was quite annoying at the swimming pool). We didn't get any towels or bag for the swimming pool. The extra fee for the wifi is really expensive (35€/7 days for 2 people). Also when we were in the pool there were people coming all the time to ask if we wanted massage, manicure, extra food, tattoo...It was very annoying.
To say something good, the waiters were nice (in exchange for tips) and the swimming pool was never overcrowded, we always find a place to sit and could swim in peace. It was not the cleanest hotel I have ever been, but it was clean enough.

Yes only free in lobby area but OK if not crowded I bought an Egyptian sim card for my phone from Pennys the shop next door to the hotel for my phone all OK and 13 euros for loads of data. If you have kids would suggest some sort of mifi box you can hire them from Falcon Tours
