Great little cozy apartment with nice small kitchen. We loved the easy walk to the Sea and such a great spot for sunset views. Easy to walk or bus from there everywhere we wanted to go.
We’d totally stay there again. So convenient to everything.

We had a hard time finding a place to stay in Tel Aviv due to some competition going on. Everything was very expensive and rooms were very limited. We stumbled upon the Home Apartments. Nothing fancy but served us well. A superior location 1 block off the beach. It was set up apartment style but we only used it as a place to sleep. Everything was clean and everything worked. We'd stay there again.

It's cheap, but it isn't that clean, and it's a little dumpy. The help was not all that helpful (students, mostly), and the parking is not free or even guaranteed. You can't do any real cooking in the kitchenette either, just a cold breakfast, really.

It was OK, but the only advantage is location and price. Keep looking.

We had a great vacation at THE HOME apartment hotel. The place is located in front of the Med sea, and had all we could ask for 75$ per night (couple price). There is a nice & helpful web site at www.thehome.co.il.
We found it pretty clean and homey, and we will be back again for sure.
A delightful apartment hotel with excellent service + the best location in Tel Aviv.

Based on the reviews here, I booked at The Home. The price of $60 a night was very reasonable for expensive Tel Aviv but this place was so awful we actually checked out the same day we checked in. The room pictured on the website looks amazing compared to the room you get. Our room was filthy, dirt on the walls, hair in the sink and a strong sewage smell coming from the shower drain. When I complained, I was told it was not a 5 star hotel and they gave me a bottle of lavender scented cleaner "in case it smells again" after they sprayed the drain. After arguing back and forth for a refund, I was given the cash paid on arrival back the following day. More arguing was needed for getting my desposit back. They claimed I had to cancel 2 weeks prior to get it back. Since I didn't know the room would smell like sewage 2 weeks ago, they finally decided to refund it. They didn't want a bad rap. While I appreciate that I got my money back I don't appreciate the false advertising on their website and I would not advise anyone to stay there. You'd be better off at a hostel.

We stayed in a studio apartment on the top floor for two nights. The apartment was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. We even had a partial view of the sea through the huge window. The location was perfect. We never needed to take a taxi anywhere. We were a short walk from the beach and there were a ton of restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Tel Aviv.

For about 70$ per day, this is the best hotel bargain in Tel Aviv.
We have been in this hotel for 7 days during December 2007. The hotel is very nicely decorated, safe, clean and located 100 meters from the beech. The hotel is located in the hart of TA, one block from the beach and promanade and a few minutes walk from all places of interest in TA.
Our room was very comfortable, newly renovated and fully equiped with everithing we need for a gread holiday. Every room has AC, TV with cables, bathroom, telephone.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is 24h attendance.
We'll be more than glad to be back there next year :-)

We just got back from Israel and stayed at The Home for 10 days. Really, for me the only positives were that we had a great ocean view and were in a good location to go by foot to many places.

The negatives:
The hall ways are filled with the smell of smoke...even though there are NO SMOKING signs posted everywhere. Even the guy at the reception desk was smoking!

The Website boasts maid service, yet the bed sheets are only changed 2x per week. When you are across from the beach and traveling with kids...2x per week is hardly enough. When we requested new sheets, they gave us the sheets to change them ourselves!

I'd bring slippers to walk around and even use in the shower. Not the cleanest place ever!

There was a small tower of used hotel soaps near the sink for us to use! Gee thanks....I think I'll use my own soap! That's pretty gross for my taste!

At night when you are attempting to sleep you hear everything from the busy road below (and we were on the 3rd floor!) including honking, loud radios, people screaming down the street to one another and sirens. VERY LOUD! This continues at all hours of the night into the am.

The staff downstairs is helpful, however, they don't seem to know much. Like where things are and how to get there. You'd think a local would know where the bus station was or which direction the market was.

Beds were very soft. Basically covered couches/foutons.

There's free internet access downstairs and there's usually someone on the computer. When you do get a chance to use the computer, make sure you wash your hands with soap and water (twice) b/c the keyboard and mouse look oily from all the people who used it! Blech

The Website also boasts about free wireless, however, the wireless only works in the lobby - not your room. And it only works when it wants! Worked for me on the first night and then couldn't get back online after. Same happened to another guy trying to use his laptop.

All in all, you get what you pay for here. You want a cheap place to stay while in Israel, go here. If you are looking for something more hotel-like...stay at a hotel! It's worth the extra bucks.

We stayed for 5 nights total in July 2006. Okay, here's the deal.

PROS:
You can't beat the location or price. $70 a night. Practically free. A one minute walk to Frishman Beach, which is where we wanted to spend our days. Close to retaurants, bars, etc., which is where we wanted to spend our nights. Satellite TV, safe, mini-fridge to keep your food and drinks, and good closet space. Plenty of towels.

CONS:
Staff -- in general, not the most helpful or competent (there were a couple of notable exceptions, tho), but then again, we weren't expecting concierge service.

Room -- we stayed in 2 different rooms. We were told we had to switch beause they did not have the same room available for consecutive nights. Didn't make sense, since we just switched from one "B" floorplan to another. But whatever.

The main problem however, was that there seemed to be a great inconsistency between the rooms. Our friends were also staying there, and while our 1st "B" room was large and roomy and with a view of the sea, their "B" room was tiny, more like an "A" room, with only a stand-up shower, and with no view -- but they were paying the same price. The same with our second room -- it was tiny and quite different from the first.

Cleanliness -- the walls are dingy -- paint peeling, dirt spots. Floors could use a good mopping -- you'd better wear flip flops or your soles will turn gray. Bathtub could use a good bleaching. Basically, it's like staying in the guest bedroom of one of your not-so-rich and not so clean friends. Would stay there again if we wanted to spend many nights in Tel Aviv and wanted to save lots of $$$.

we booked a 'deluxe studio apartment' because we staying 7 nights. the room looked nothing like the photo on the booking site. we got a noisy, small, nasty, run-down room, we had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep at night. the bathroom is tiny and mouldy, the fridge is rusty. the cutlery in the drawer is awful and super old, probably second-hand. the night we arrived, the room was filthy, there was grime underfoot and dirt everywhere we touched. the windows are filthy, the window sills are so dirty they are sticky. it was cleaned the next day. the reception area stunk of cigarette smoke, despite the no smoking signs. the downstairs area stunk of cigarette smoke each time we went down there. it is expensive, and of course, everything you would want has a charge, $US10 a night to park in a crappy, too-small car park that was not full anyway. they demanded a $US100 deposit to make one phone call to Jerusalem. the shower system has a timer, i am ok with that, saves electricity. dirty laundry was left in the hallway on more than one occasion.

"Ask for a room on Hayarkon street with a sea view, and not on Frishman street which is noisier due to building construction going on across the road (from about 7-8 am to 4 pm). This didn't bother us as we were out most the day."
