Nice hotel that has everything you need. This hotel is on the north side of the island, and like others have mentioned it is quiet. We went on this vacation to relax, so that was perfect for us. It is about a 30-45 minute golf car ride to San Pedro depending on how fast your cart is.

TIP - Rent the golf cart in town as it is less expensive then on the north side of the island. We received ours when we got off the air strip and drove to the hotel with our luggage on the cart, it worked out perfect.

The food at this hotel was really good! Everything we tried was excellent. Another thing that really made this hotel stand out was the people. Everyone is so personable and friendly!

Tuff Enuff tours was awesome. We did a catamaran/fishing/snorkel tour through them that was well worth the money.

1st of all; I want to say this was our 1st trip to Belize. Did a lot research prior to. We wanted a place away from the busy town of San Pedro but not to far away. We also wanted to be close to Secret Beach. Costa Blu was spot on. The resort is sooooo laid back and the staff is amazing! Not at all commercialized, but yet up to date. Rooms are clean, pool is clean, the grounds are clean. These people take pride in keeping it that way. Anything you need, they will get, or they will set it up for you. Everything from diving to fishing to island hopping. Anything you can imagine, they can make happen. Unbelievable networking. If you want to know the best places to eat, fish, gift shop, croc watch, swim, snorkel, hike, bike, etc..... just ask. They have no issues with sending you beyond the resort.
My sincere gratitude goes out to Hatcher at Tuff E Nuff Adventures, Lisa, Stewy, Wayne, Henny, Cleon and all the rest of the hands-on staff for their direct, positive impact on our fantastic stay.
We will be back for sure!!!!
My advice is to rent a golf cart. The water Taxi is a bit spendy and the cart allows you the freedom to explore. Had zero issues with safety.
Bring bug spray on those adventures in the evening.
Anything you do on the water won’t disappoint.
Secret Beach is a must do. Aurora’s and the Blue Bayou have good food, and relaxing in the waist deep water sitting on sunken tables is sweet!

We really enjoyed our stay at Costa Blu! The staff was friendly and helpful. They *are* in the process of doing some construction on the property, which was kind of noisy, but the staff was super apologetic about it. Otherwise, it was really relaxing and quiet, and the construction noises were not constant.
I did not feel, as other reviews have noted, that the accommodations were run down. The room we had was clean and well-kept, and we enjoyed having a private patio overlooking the water. The AC worked great, and both meals we had at the resort restaurant were really good. We definitely recommend renting a golf cart (not from CB; too expensive) to get around the island.
The beach and pool area at CB were well-kept, raked each day, but know that you can't just walk along the water/beach due to the sea moss. We enjoyed dips in the ocean at the end of the pier and at Secret Beach.
I also received a massage through the spa services offered at CB which was so lovely.
We definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway that's out of town!

Our first trip to Belize, on a timeshare trade for 5 nights. The resort was very helpful in booking our flight from Belize City and having their shuttle there ($30pp RT). San Pedro is a small crowded little city, we didn't go back. The resort is 6.5 miles north of town, 30-45 minute drive on a small marginal road.
The resort is beautiful right on the water and well maintained, there should be more lights around the pool deck at night. 1-bedroom units were OK, very small kitchenette which could have used a better coffee maker. Consider providing free coffee in the morning in the lobby. Our upstairs unit 8A had no shade on deck. Noticed there were brackets for an umbrella, requested one but never got it. One living room window had a screen, but bedroom window didn’t. Requested a screen & told none available which resulted in bug bites, other 2 living room windows were screwed shut. I noticed throughout the resort some windows had screens and some didn't. AC unit in the bedroom didn’t work as well as the living room unit.
The resort is far from town. Restaurant OK, shuttles to 2 other restaurants for dinner. The bar is good and prices are reasonable for a resort.
Dive shop isn't a dive shop but just a desk on the pier. For all diving and snorkeling you need to go by boat to another shop & boat. Not a place for dedicated divers. The water in front of resort is very shallow and lots of sea grass. Mexico rocks reef is in front of resort is only open to guided groups for a fee.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review with us. We are truly sorry to know that your expectations were not met. Our resort is located 6.2 miles north of San Pedro Town. We encourage guests to report any maintenance issues to the front desk so that we may address them. We are sorry that this was not the case. The coast of Ambergris Caye is shallow and we do not have traditional walk-in beaches. This is due to the barrier reef that is just offshore. Mexico Rocks is an excellent diving and snorkeling site and is a protected marine area. The laws in Belize dictate that all snorkelers and divers to that site have a guide. This is for the protection of the site, to ensure that it remains pristine for generations to come. Thanks again for sharing your review.

Everything about the resort is tired. The staff at the front desk never smiled. One bedroom suites are OK but need to be painted and refreshed. The bikes had to be rented and were horrible and old. Same with beach chairs and kayaks. We did like sitting on our deck to enjoy the water views. The resort must not have been full as there were lots of chairs on the beach and at the pool which is nice. Free welcome drink where you add your own rum was the ponly good drink we had even though I ordered the same drink multiple times- never the same drink. Food & drinks were adequate at best. It is so nice that Porto Fino and Mambo send boats to pick up diners at N/C. They are smaller resorts and the restaurants are very good. Step up, Wyndham! We also walked to X' Tan Ha for lunch, which has a very nice beach rather than the seawall at Costa Blu. The nicest person was Hatcher at the Tuff E Nuff "booth for water activities. The weather was in low 70s and very very windy so that impacted our trip. We didn't go to Secret Beach (the road is too rutted for bikes) but those who did were not impressed. It was an expensive 40 minute golf cart ride to town and a $5 bridge crossing fee to get there. We could only book for 5 days at CB (we are now glad) so we moved to the south end of the island which is closer to town.

This was a beautiful, spread out resort. Each housing unit is made up of 4 apartments which are sizable with a nice porch to relax on. There is a 3 split pool including a swim up bar, beach entrance and waterfall pool. Beautiful ocean front location inside the reef. The staff is beyond impressive. Wayne at the pool bar worked the 7 days we were there, ran all the food and drink orders for the resort and made great Pina Coladas! Every person there said Hi and smiled. Pablo was welcoming from the beginning when he met us along with Wayne with a rum punch, rum optional, and took us to our room, The room and pool as well as the greater Resort grounds were clean and fresh. The fish dinners were excellent. Improvements need to be in the entertainment, TV and stereo only, and the transportation area. They have no shuttle or solution to the $80 USD round trip to town and no water transportation to Mexico Rocks, directly in front of the resort, without going to town to get a boat, all while having a beautiful pier with a safe boat area and swim area. This, while there are no real supplies at the hotel much less any souvenirs to buy, aloe vera, ramen, chips, 1 can bug spray, a toothbrush, not much and not inviting. Overall, I loved it. We rented a cart and spent the day driving North which was great, all the way to Tranquility Bay and used it to get to Secret Beach both areas I would recommend. Another day sailing and enjoying the water sports with Under the Sea in San Pedro Town, highly recommended, The rest the time was spent enjoying the pool and friendly staff at the Resort. Thanks to all.

We had a great stay at Costa Blu. Overall we really enjoyed this resort. First the pros...it's beautiful and the staff were all fantastic. Special mention to Pedro who worked the front desk as well as Wayne who bartended as well as served lunch and dinner. They have security at the resort at night which is nice. This resort is 6.5 North of San Pedro which was not an issue for us. We rented a golf cart and even though the road is a bit rough we did not mind at all. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the only thing missing was a dresser ( there were 3 small shelves in closet which we used as well as hung clothes in closet but a dresser would have been nice). All rooms have a seaview, we were on the second floor and while our view was beautiful, the palm trees blocked the sea view a slight bit. We ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was always very good. The grounds crew was always busy maintaining the beautiful property. Now for the cons... keep in mind none of these things would keep me from staying here again, just things worth mentioning. This resort has potential to be more...there are some repairs that need to be made to the pier which was blocked off because of damage. There is no dive shop or activities hut on the pier as it looks in the pictures. The beach is not swim-able because of the Sargassum . We used the sea kayaks but since there is a marine reserve (Mexico Rocks) right in front of the resort, you are unable to kayak out and do any snorkeling. Also, The pool was a little murky and looks like the bottom needs to be resurfaced. Mosquitoes were a problem but that seems to be a problem on the island. That being said, I would stay again we really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you very much for taking the time in writing us your review, We are glad that you enjoyed the adventurous trip to our resort. Our Food and Beverage staff take pride to deliver the best service possible ensuing that you and everyone else enjoy every meal served at our Blu restaurant. After being closed for a long period of time, we are now doing maintenance around the property and hope that all be up to date for your next return. The wall sea wall doesn't let the sargassum stay on site though it is not swimmable. The dock is under renovations hence the reason it is closed, we anticipate that within a month it should be active once again. The pool is now up to date. We hope you can make it soon back to visit us! and hope we can meet your expectations! Your review will be shared with our staff, the heart of our resort.

We enjoyed our stay at Costa Blu. The property is beautifully maintained, the pool is gorgeous and the outdoor restaurant is a great place to enjoy food and drinks. The units are very nice and all overlook the sea. It is not one of the very modern cookie cutter resorts and we liked that about it because it had more Belizean charm. The people were very nice and professional as well. The indoor restaurant is pretty sparse and doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the resort but we did not eat there. The resort is about a 30 minute golf cart ride over very bumpy roads from San Pedro but if you are looking to just relax and enjoy the resort it is a great place to be.

We stayed a week. Fabulous food and service. Very accommodating when we asked for something. The rooms could use some work. One of the air conditioning units smelled when we ran it, easy fix, we just stopped using it. The sliding door in the sitting area did not shut completely, there was a gap which let bugs in and we woke up with bites one morning. Solved by putting something in front of it. The food was great. The beach was okay. Snorkeling not really an option unless you swam a ways out, but constant boats coming through would makes that option unsafe. The resort taxi to town and back (and the airport and back) seems pricey at $80 round trip for 2 of us each time, but we chose not to run a golf cart, which is a cheaper option. Overall, it was just what we needed - some quiet away time in a relaxing environment!

We returned to Costa Blu which we visited two years ago. This is a quiet, safe, clean resort. It’s small enough to be intimate but has a beach, pool and restaurant. Thank you to Manuel for accommodating our room request to be away from noisy guests. This is not the norm but it was a holiday weekend and the resort had more guests than usual. Special shout-out to the Landscape/Grounds staff who stopped to help us along the road hen our golf cart broke down, and to Wayne at the restaurant who made us feel welcome. Suggestion: set up some type of grocery store so guests don’t have to travel so far for things like snacks; don’t make guests wait three days to have their rooms cleaned. That’s pretty annoying. Other than that, it was great!!

Is this resort undergoing renovation?
Answer from Reservations C
Good Afternoon, Yes, indeed the resort is under renovation but that is only the right side of the resort located in the garden view area. Please note that the construction work does not affect the other side of the resort. Guests are being assigned to our pool/ocean view. The construction work is being done in a mannerly way so that our guests are not affected by any noise. Despite having the renovation on the left-hand side of the resort the guest will be able to continue vacationing as per normal.
