My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this Quality Inn. The staff was amazing. Amy, the front desk clerk was exceptional in addressing all of our questions. In fact, her suggestion for dinner on our first night became our place each night of our four day visit. The housekeeper's name was Grant and our room was neat and cleaned every day. The hotel also serves a complete hot breakfast and coffee and tea are always available.

We stayed one night on our trip to Acadia. When Google led us to another hotel we found they had no room but the desk staff there told us about the Quality Inn and Suites in South Portland and said we really should try them. So we did and it was exactly what we were looking for: clean, comfortable, simple. The staff were all very warm and friendly, the room we stayed in was freshly painted and clean. So, all the basics. But you know, we've found some skanky places on the road, late at night when we couldn't really look around, and I'm glad to tell you, this isn't one of them! :-)

Location is not bad, near shopping and restaurants. About a 10 minute ride from downtown Portland. I booked a mini suite with 2 Queen beds, which was nice. Beds were comfy, but bathroom was tiny and we didn't have consistent hot water. Free Breakfast was a huge disappointment. The waffle machine was not up and running. The juice machine didn't have juice and the hot breakfast items were all gone by 8:00. Breakfast is from 6-9. I did notice someone asked the staff if she was re-filling, which she did, but hadn't noticed breakfast needed refill because she was busy on her cell phone. The parking lot and grounds were covered in ice and I thought I would fall numerous times. I didn't see anyone around salting the place. Price is cheap, but I rather pay a little more next time for a better experience and the safety of being able to walk outside.

After traveling most of the day site seeing my husband daughter and myself were exhausted. It is difficult finding a pet friendly hotel and this was the first one we could find for more than an hours ride. When we asked if they had a room we thought great its 7:30 pm we were all exhausted and we actually have a place to stay with my puppy. When we got over to our room just entering into the hallway to go upstairs there was garbage all over the carpet. Ok so I let that go because its a main entrance so I figured through the day things got dropped or whatever. Go up to our room and open the door the first thing i saw was coffee still sitting in the coffee pot. Yuck 🤮 obviously wasn't cleaned. Hubby and I checked the beds to make sure they didn't have bugs that was fine. Sheets seemed ok. On the corners of the bed was all kinds of crumbs. Obviously no vacuum was used. So my teenage daughter wanted to watch TV and guess what it wasn't working. I called the front desk to let her know after trying everything to fix it. The girl at the desk was very pleasant and I dont blame her at all. She did say she was relatively new and would call her supervisor to find out. Well she called me back to tell me she had a message to her supervisor but no one had responded. Ok so no tv whatever. Later I went to shower and noticed the curtain looked off and the rod was barely hanging on the wall. I get in and showered and noticed the tub didn't drain so I had water to my ankles. So now we are all getting ready to go to bed as its been a long day and the darn beds were like rocks. Hard and very uncomfortable. About 2 hrs later my husband wakes up saying he was hot and he is never hot he rarely uses ac. When i got up the ac unit was blowing hot air. Then I realized it kept shutting off through the night. Well maybe some of my complaints are because I was a housekeeper for 4 years but I dont think that's what it is. When we get ready to check out i voiced my concerns and thoughts that they would do something to make it right but instead I got a story about how they hire a cleaning company to clean. Well I will never stay here again nor reccomend it to anyone.

We booked this hotel for just over $150 as a same day last resort, so our standards were very low going in because we just needed a place to sleep for one night. However, when we got there, the room had a seriously intense smell of stale cigarette smoke. It was clearly a smoking hotel in the past, and smelled like someone had smoked in the room a few days earlier. We spent less than an hour in the room before we both had headaches, and upon walking to the door we realized that the lock to the room was broken OFF. Not just broken, it was even there anymore.
Basically we wasted $150, because between not feeling safe and feeling like were inhaling second hand smoke and knowing that all our clothes and luggage would smell like smoke the next day, we just cut our losses and booked a different hotel and left.

The two girls at the front desk were fantastic! We stopped for the night without a reservation. They were nice enough to switch our room to one on the ground floor when I mentioned my husband had a bad knee, they were ready with recommendations for dinner, but the best part is... They asked about our trip. When I said we were on our 25th anniversary trip, they surprised us by decorating our room while we were out to dinner. There were balloons, heart shaped towel art, rose petals, chocolates, hearts, oh my goodness, it was amazing!

The staff was amazing upon check-in and it didn’t stop there! They were welcoming friendly helpful and kind for my entire stay at the Quality Inn, The rooms were the cleanest I’ve seen at a hotel and I travel often for work, the beds were extremely comfortable I got some much needed rest! I was very surprised at breakfast, I thought I’d be getting your typical continental breakfast but to my surprise it was a full on breakfast buffet almost as good as if I had made my own at home! I will definitely be staying again and recommending this place to family friends and colleagues!

Staff was friendly upon check in. Even gave us a snack bag which was a nice touch. Rooms were newly remodeled. Very clean rooms and common areas. Breakfast was great and had so many options. They gave recommendations on the best places to visit as well as the best places to eat. The staff here from the housekeepers to the front desk staff as well as everyone else went above and beyond to make are staff amazing.

I stayed there for a night and it was and excellent experience. The front desk staff were amazing. The room were well kept bed soft and comfortable. Breakfast was great they had options I could choose from and I loved that. Definitely going back!!

This was a TERRIFIC bargain for a quick overnight on NYE. The rooms were very clean and well-decorated with new bed coverings and thick towels. It was definitely nicer than many places we have stayed at a higher cost (and higher ratings). Breakfast was standard fare, but included in the reasonable price. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful; special thanks to Taneisha, who made sure everything was just right. It's a little bit away from Old Port, but an Uber cost us only $8 to get there. We will definitely make this our go-to in Portland.
