We stayed 7 days in 8D and had an outstanding week enjoying the island. Although 8D is one of the units farthest from the ocean, being on the second level we had awesome view of both the pool area and the ocean. The suite was large enough for 4 adults comfortably, it was clean, well appointed and has a large comfortable deck. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They went the extra step by doing little things such as making reservations, providing recommendations, cutting us some coconuts and making use of all the amenities easy and enjoyable. The resort itself is well laid out, the grounds are kept very clean, the pool area is awesome, the dock is large, relaxing and has paddle boards and kayaks, we even spent several hours on the tennis courts playing pickle ball. I highly recommend Belizean Shores and would definitely stay again if we return to Ambergris Caye.

Belizean Shores is a part of the Sandy Point group. You are greeted at the Belize City Airport by a representative who makes sure you get on a hopper flight. From there a representative greets you at the San Pedro Airport to get your bags and get you on a shuttle to Belizean Shores. Once at Belizean Shores Resort a friendly receptionist hands you a rum punch for check-in. After a full day of travel this makes for a very welcoming and relaxing experience. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The rooms are individually owned condos that are rented out however the Belizean Shores staff take immaculate care of the units and grounds. The staff take pride in their work and it shows. We were in the back of the complex on a ground unit. We could see the ocean from our patio even though we were the farthest unit away. The grounds are beautiful and grounds keepers rake the sand everyday. All units surround the pool which is spacious and never over crowded. There is no fighting for pool chairs or space even over the Christmas break. The bartenders are friendly and accommodating. There is a sandy beach for shallow swimming (other properties don't seem to have this) and a dock with hammocks, chairs, and a trampoline in the water for the kids to play. There was never a spot on the complex that was crowded. The tennis and basketball courts were clean and accessible. Pedro in reception is amazing! He was overly helpful and patient while we were trying to book massages (on the dock overlooking the Caribbean) and dinner reservations. There is no restaurant on sight but across the street (1 minute walk) there are several restaurants and a good bakery. A guy comes around everyday selling breakfast burritos and tamales which we got several times. The kitchen in the unit has everything you need to cook meals. We generally had lunch in our unit. Everyone was so friendly and it was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Do not hesitate to book! We will go back!

Excellent spot for a family Christmas vacation. We had a family of 10 to stay at this resort over the Christmas holiday. We didn't really know what to expect other than what was posted on Trip Advisor. The resort is about 20 minutes from the island airport on bumpy roads. Our travel through the busy town of San Pedro area made us excited about being in a less congested area of town. The resort is about 2 miles North of town. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised.

The grounds are well kept. The property consists of many suites or little apartments. I was told that many people like you and I own these and either live in them or rent them out. The resort manages them. Our next door neighbor was from Wisconsin. They stay on the island 5 months out of the year to avoid the Wisconsin winters. We rented 5 suites - two to a suite. All of our suites had a kitchen, bath, one bedroom, living room and dining area. We were all located in buildings next to one another on the lower level near the pool.

Travel into town and to Secret Beach was via golf cart. The resort had a golf cart rental facility on site. The prices were a little steep, but we wanted the convenience. You can also rent bikes from them for $5 a day.

The staff at the property is very very friendly. They were easy to deal with and very accomodating. There was an issue with the power being out for several hours and they accomodated us fairly. There is a volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, chess table and a beautiful dock area that has hammocks and a trampoline. You can kayak and other stuff. It was a great stay.

I would go back. Especially in December. The temperatures were in the 80's and very sunny.

We just got back from a week at the Belizean Shores and just can't say enough good about it. From the super helpful staff in the office to the best bartender on the island (Armando) it was near perfection. Everyone was super nice and helpful and seemed like they were enjoying their job. The rooms were spotlessly clean. You can tell they are not new, but spacious and clean and very comfortable. We were amazed at the many channels we could get on our TV even in the short time we watched TV. There are so many fun things to do on the island. The pool is beautiful and has a swim up bar. Armando and Amin were such fun bartenders and did their best to make a connection with each person there. The drinks are a little spendy. The fancier drinks were around $8 but a beer was around $3. The location is really perfect with a beautiful beach on one side and several little restaurants right across the street. You will still want to get a golf cart though so you can check out all the fun things to do on the island. There is also a tour agency right on sight that will help you to plan some trips, etc. We lined up a snorkeling tour with them and they did a really good job. We stayed here with a large group and not one of us had a complaint about anything here. It is a long, time consuming trip to get here as the airport was chaotic but it was well worth it.

My wife and I went there for my sister’s destination wedding. Roberty and Pedro at the front desk are excellent. They made the checkin process easy and are a big reason for the resort’s success. We were able to rent golf carts there at the resort at a competitive price. Across the street is a coffee shop and food restaurants. Each morning my wife and I went for a nice walk/job both up and down the beach. We felt very safe. The resort is located 3 miles from secret beach and 3 miles from downtown. Great location.

Upon booking the staff reached out to us to assist us with our stay. We really appreciated this service with our busy work schedules. They scheduled our flights from Belize City to San Pedro, provided transportation from San Pedro airport to Belizean Shores (small fee), and our COIVD test for returning to the US. We booked a golf cart for the week which was ready at the resort when we arrived. The staff are very friendly and are available via WhatsApp which was awesome if we needed anything. Tuff e Nuff tour/activity center is located on the dock - very convenient for booking adventures and most depart right there.
There is no restaurant on property but room service which was very good, inexpensive and delivered timely is available along with restaurants at a sister property 2 doors down the beach. There are a couple of places to get food across from the resort, all good food and outdoor eating.
The pool offers options with lounges, umbrellas, tables and chairs, cushion loungers in the water and a swim up bar. Delicious drinks!
This was my third time staying at the Belizean Shores and we are planning to return summer 2022. Great service, condos are spacious, clean and have kitchens, on-site security. The property is well maintained. This is a family friendly resort

The resort is great! We booked a sea view suite which was supposed to have twin beds in the loft. When we arrived at our suite, i noted that there was one full size bed and a sofa sleeper. Having two boys over six feet, we informed the desk of the error. They said they didn’t have any available and offered a rollaway bed. It was the noisiest bed and every time my son moved in bed, everyone heard it. They moved us to a different suite the next day with no issues. There was no maid service and we had to call the office to empty our garbage and freshen our towels when needed.

The pool area and swim-up bar were top notch and was where we stayed most of the time we were on the property. You can order food at the bar from the restaurant at the sister-property two resorts over and the prices were pretty reasonable and the food was excellent! We ordered from and ate at the restaurant several times and each meal was better than any of the off-property meals that we tried.

We were able to arrange for transport to/from the airport with the resort for $15/passenger and we also rented a golf cart with the front desk. Tuff enuff tours is based out of the dock and they offered free kayak and sup rentals with snorkel gear an extra $15. We took a kayak out from the resort, tied it to a buoy and snorkeled and saw a good number of fish. We also booked a snorkel tour for an afternoon which was plenty of time to see hol Chan and shark ray alley.

The only negative is the beach is small and couldn’t really be enjoyed because there was so much seaweed on the shoreline. Not sure if this is seasonal or year round. However the pool area does make up for it.

Our sons made friends with other young adults that stayed there and they hung out at the pool bar on many nights. The pool bar does close at 9pm, but the pool area is always open. We would definitely stay here again.

We came down to Belize for our destination wedding. We absolutely loved staying at this resort. It was perfect for our group of 24 people as it wasn't too big and still was able to accommodate everyone's activity preferences. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Since we were there for a week, the kitchenette was helpful. While the resort was too small to have a proper restaurant on-site, they do have a sister resort (Coco Beach $$$) a short walk away that can provide food/bar. Also a food court-type situation across the road on the lagoon side. The food there was excellent! We liked the location set away from the busy town center as it gave us time with our friends and family and peace and quiet. Every staff member was hospitable and friendly. I can't really say how happy we were to discover this little gem. If you are looking for a quiet resort with great food around you, access to all types of activities, great price, and something more than a standard hotel room then Belizean Shores is it! We will go back!

We stayed for one week in a Watwrside Appartement and it was fantastic, bed was very comfortable, very clean and Water-Gallon in the room was replaced as soon as empty…this makes it not only very convinient but also sustainable (avoiding extra plastic bottles which I think is very important in our days). The whole Team was very friendly and helpful (offered snorkel tours are not cheap but worth the price). The transfer from and to the airport was very well organized despite the fact that we arrived with an earlier flight, we didn't have to wait. Bikes were available at the resort, that was great. We really can recommend this resort if you are looking for a relaxing holliday and want to make nice snorkel tours. The only negative thing was that next to the resort, a new resort is being built, thus a big construction area (but no noise during our stay). We would definitely book it again!

My sister and I booked five nights in a poolside upstairs room.

First, the space was huge with a large living room, dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom had a door that lead into the bathroom that was convenient. The upstairs loft had two twin beds and a sofa bed. The outside patio had a great view of the pool and beach. It had a nice table and chairs outside and hooks to hang towels and swim wear to dry.

I loved the pool-lovely design and very relaxing. It had lounge chairs in the water and two gazebos. The beach unfortunately had a ton of seaweed but that is happening almost everywhere so we were not surprised.

It is north of the main town but on average took around 10-15 minutes via golf cart depending on where you were headed. It also only took 15 minutes to get to Secret Beach. You definitely want to have a golf cart for the entirety of your trip.

We booked a sunset cruise with the company that’s off their dock, Tuff N Nuff. They do other tours as well. The sunset cruise was great!

There’s a food court like area directly across and both my sister and I had one of our best meals of the entire trip there! Delicious and convenient.

We ordered in room dining our first night as we arrived late and it was the only time. We both hated our food and it was ridiculously expensive for how awful it was.

I would definitely stay there again!

Thanks for your question. Due to the geology and resulting barrier reef just offshore of Belize, we do not have traditional walk-in beaches with big rolling waves. The shoreline has shallow, calm water. There is no surfing in Belize. One of the better beaches for swimming on Ambergris Caye is Secret Beach, on the lee side of the island, accessible via golf cart rental. The real wow-factor in Belize is the barrier reef, with world-class snorkeling and diving. Please feel free to contact us directly via our website if you have any other questions.
