Almost 17$ booking fee!!
This is the first time we've paid a booking fee. That's insane when this place is already expensive.

The park has spent most of its money on landscaping.

The bathrooms were small and old feeling, but clean. I couldn't find the showers but apparently you have to pay to use them.
Staff were friendly.
They had a cute playground for the kids.
Sites are decent sizes but somewhat close together, some with no trees, just grass, picnic table and a fire pit. Our site on the river was nice with plenty of trees.

For what they charge they should have a tubing Bus to drop campers off with their tubes and kayaks up the road so we could exit the river at the campsite.

The park was probably at 30% of capacity. Which tells you it's too expensive. Everywhere else I looked at was booked solid this long weekend.

This is a very lovely and well kept park, with many great features. We enjoyed our weekend camping experience there, and hope to return next year for a longer stay. The campsites are good sized and the park is very clean. We enjoyed walking the trails and seeing the horses and other animals.

Nice quiet place but very dark and creepy at night at this time of the year. We visited in October for 2 nights. It was a little too scary at night and very dark with no one around. It will be okay for a big family or a big group of people.

Sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. The time of season that you came does have fewer people camping than in the Summer months. Many of our campers enjoy the quiet, peaceful, dark ambiance under the stars. We provide a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. We do hope you will join us again and try the river tubing in the Summer.

We have booked here year after year , often with up to 10 or More other families . We book a year in advance . In 2019, 12 families including us booked for the July 17 weekend and just a few weeks before our arrival we received emails that due to covid the the park could not have campers coming and going so to limit this our reservations would have to be either cancelled or extended to a full week. We all took the cancellations because we weren’t able to extend our stays .
Now the owners are advertising available sites for that same Friday to Sunday reservation which we had in order to fill their campground . So the emails saying it was for health precautions appears to most it was a money grab to make us pay for a longer reservation . Obviously you hose health concerns in our emails no longer applies in order to fill the sites after all.
They kept the admin fee as well.
We understand covid 19 has prompted unusual regulations but when a business uses covid 19 to capitalize on revenue as an excuse it looses integrity .

We also spoke to a few families who were recently abruptly forced to leave because their young children had rode bikes unattended by an adult . Rules are rules but as one can imagine , the trauma these young kids who rode their bikes will feel for a long time knowing their families And friends we All kicked out because of such a trivial thing they had done . No refund to the families involved . Shame on the owners .
Won’t be back

Picture noted is a recent add for sites and dates we were told had to be cancelled or extended to a full week due to health precautions

We were lucky enough to discover Saugeen Springs when we had to return to Canada from the U.S. due to COVID-19. We arrived on April 8th and will be staying until Nov 15. This is probably the nicest park we have stayed in during our 7 months of full time RV living. The sites are large and well treed and there are plenty of things to do with a major bonus being the Saugeen river flowing right through the middle of the park. Having said that, the most important aspect of any park is the ownership culture. Catherine, Brendan and the rest of the Serez family couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating. Few people can imagine the stress of running a park of this scale during the challenges of COVID-19. They have taken the safety of all the campers as their number one priority and I believe everyone here appreciates the effort that has taken. The additional work involved making sure that is assured has created issues that make the camping experience a little more challenging for us but that is a small price for the security we have here. Thank you Catherine, Brendan and the rest of the Serez family.

Stayed here in July with 3 other families.
There policy due to Covid is ridiculous!
Got kicked out all 4 families after first night without warning because our 9-11 year old kids went for a bike ride without parent. One of the new policy if they under 18 years of age cant ride a bike without adult supervision. No refund!
Code of conduct! You sign it then take it seriously there are spies everywhere!!!

This park cancelled our three day reservation because we could not change to seven days. They said this was due to Covid. They then charged us a fee for cancelling my reservation. What type of policy is this? Thank you for ruining my holiday

The only thing this campground has going for it is the river and a few nice sites. Owner (Catherine) is a complete moron and does not care at all about anyone but her seasonal. If you have a concern or question, her answer is to kick you out. They charge for EVERYTHING! Can’t have an extra car… $30 to park. Seriously? Wood is $15 for 5 pieces. Kids can’t be alone at the river, seasinals will take pictures of them and report them to Catherine who will in turn kick you out! Way more ridiculous rules than anywhere we have been (travelled all over Ontario). Just have a look at all the Rules and fees in their website, it’s all there. waited for 2 hours to get in last year because all the trailers had to check in individually. Even though we had all paid ahead of time. We unfortunately put up with them for 5 years now as there are 3 families that enjoy floating down the river. Not anymore. Way better campgrounds elsewhere that don’t gouge you for every penny and treat you with respect at the least.

We stayed there last year and loved the location on the river! Excited to go back this year with our whole group, booked January 7. Covid hits, lots of uncertainty with everything. We get an email 3 weeks before cancelling us. Leaving our entire group (5 families) with booked vacation days and nowhere to go.
On top of that they kept $13 “cancellation” fee. THEY CANCELLED US!!
I could care less about the money, but it’s the principle. Once we complained to them, they changed their story that it was a “reservation fee”. I don't care what name you give it, it's wrong.
They don't have to blame it on Covid because if you read the reviews they do in on a regular base!!
So they're scamming people and get a way with it, seriously??!! We have to stop this. 👎

Saugeen Springs R.V. Park cancelled our 4 night stay due to COVID-19,and kept the $13 reservation fee.
But if i wanted to stay 7 nights then our reservation would be ok (i guess there is no concern for COVID-19 if you stay 7 nights) She is just in it for the money and using COVID-19 as an excuse to get more money.
She should be ashamed.
