Perfect area to stay in if you visit Madrid.
It could sometimes be noisy from the outside in the nightime. A lot of partying people are in the neighborhood.
But I would absolutely stay there again if I go to Madrid.
Our stay at this hotel was better than we expected. Even though we arrived earlier, the staff were more than happy to accommodate us and checked us in right away. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was facing the Santa Ana plaza and we were concerned it will be noisy at night. However, the windows are double glass and we weren’t bothered at all. In fact, we enjoyed the view of Santa Ana plaza.
Although the room is small, it’s clean and comfortable.
The location is great, walking distance to the Royal Palace, Prado Museum, Mercado de San Miguel, bars and restaurants, etc.
The breakfast was very decent. It’s not overwhelmingly various, but everything they serve is tasty and enough for a great start of the morning.
Very grateful to the staff from reception and the lady from the breakfast room. They were absolutely amazing.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The staff was excellent. They thankfully spoke English, as our Spanish is horrible. If you need a cab to the airport, they will call one for you.
The bed is large, the shower has a rain head as well as a sprayer. The TV was a nice size. We had a dining table in our room as well.
We will stay there again on our next trip through Madrid.
The breakfast cost 10€ and was a buffet with eggs, bacon, coffee and other Spanish options.
The staff were very welcoming, helpful and willing to give advice on food places or attractions if you needed it. They also organised for a taxi to pick us up from the hotel and take us to the airport on our final day.
As for the location I don’t think I could have been better. If necessary most of main attractions were within walking distance. Plaza mayor 5 minutes away. Gran Via 10 minutes. Prado Museum 10 minutes. Royal palace 5-10 minutes. Everything was very accessible the closest subway station (Sol) was approximately 5 minutes away from the hotel.
We had an amazing stay in Madrid and in this hotel and I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking to visit Madrid.
The people who work there are amazing. They wanted to do everything for you. I had my 60's birthday there and my husband did e-mail beforehand and ask recommendations for birthday-evening dinner. They told nice restaurants and they even gave me a hand-made card and chocolate. If we had something to ask or like we had problem with wifi, they came quickly to fix it. It was always nice to chat a little with reception when we come in or out. And because it is a small boutique hotel, feels nice when they know who lives there.
We also want to thank lovely Elena in breakfast room. It was nice to start day with her breakfast.
We have been many times in Madrid in many hotels but now we know, next time we want absolutely go to Room Mate Alicia.
Muchos gracias, Leena y Jouko de Finlandia
The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of continental food together with excellent individual portions of bacon and scrambled eggs if required. Excellent selection of cold meats, cheeses, fruit and bakery. The cakes and smoothies wee really tasty. All very fresh and beautifully presented.
The location was very central and convenient for three metro stations.
Excellent double glazing meant that the suite was very quiet.
I would definitely recommend and visit again.
1) Comfortably sized rooms and well laid out for European hotels.
2) Good breakfasts with lots of choices.
3) Excellent location in the center of Madrid - We walked everywhere - no need for cab or metro.
4) Most Important was the wonderful service from the front desk. Madrid was very crowded during the holiday season and it seemed like all the good restaurants were booked. However, they somehow found us some great places to eat and always made reservations for us. A special thanks to Carlos and Sabina. One time Carlos was having trouble getting through to a restaurant and instead of keeping us waiting he told us to go enjoy our day and he would keep calling. He later called us to let us know that he got something.
I suggest you strongly consider this hotel if you are looking in Madrid!
