Aloft Madrid Gran Via has garnered praise from guests for its outstanding service, with staff members frequently described as helpful and professional. The hotel's cleanliness and trendy atmosphere also receive commendations, adding to the comfort of the well-equipped, albeit sometimes small, rooms. Its central location is a hit among travelers, offering easy access to Madrid's attractions and transportation. While the modern amenities, including the popular breakfast and aromatherapy products, enhance the experience, some visitors have mentioned limited closet space and a closed pool deck. Overall, the hotel is seen as providing good value for a comfortable and modern stay in the heart of the city.

My first ever in a Aloft property. And a wonderful stay.

All made possible by Marine Jouber, front office executive from the time I checked in. A wonderful lady with impeccable service and attention to guest and details.

The hotel is a 15 mts drive from Madrid Puerta Atocha station, right in the heart of the city centre on Gran Via. Different by design, it a welcome change from the traditional styles with bright colours, lighting and themes.

Reception is on the 3rd floor. Rooms are higher up, I had a 9th floor room facing the city centre. Dont miss out on the 11th floor terrace, pool and sunset views.

Room very well laid and spaced. Bathrooms clean and spacious. Sleep quality excellent, and stay was super comfortable. This was a one night stay in transit from Spain to Germany and I am glad I chose this property.

Breakfast had a decent option, orders were taken against a set menu and served in no time. Again with limited services due to COVID-19 situation, the hotel is doing very well to keep guests contained and happy.

All rooms had a sanitiser and sanitised wet wipes kept which is appreciated. My room 903 had an internet problem and i was unable to access internet from the room during my stay. However internet in the lobby worked, But what made up was the excellent customer services, when Marine made me speak with the technical service provider to try and fix, and in the morning Rocio crediting me 7000 extra points to compensate for the inconvenience. Need we say more !!!!!!!!!! Well done.

A small computer business centre for anyone still wanting to check emails etc.

A few things

1. Room slippers will be appreciated
2. A tea kettle and some tea bags will be welcome since many like me have the habit of an early morning bed tea
3. A little bit more storage space for clothes
4. Shower area definitely needs a bit more glass wall or door to prevent water spilling out all over
5. Shower cap is needed

Apart from this the hotel is fantastic and I hope that all Aloft brand will ensure the same consistency and services.

Marine, needs special mention for her impeccable services and attention to guest. She suggested me a hotel for dinner which was excellent, again her knowledge and understanding the customer is well recognised. Marine and Rocio, both needs recognition and credits to the wonderful job they are doing.

Will be back next year for sure and stay here.

Thank you

Hola @SoumenC! WoW, thank you for your amazing feedback and for having mentioned some of our colleagues! It is great to hear you had such a good time with us. We appreciate as well your notes on what can be improved. The coffee/tea facilities have been temporary removed from the rooms to avoid having as many touching items as possible in order to minimize the potential spread of the virus nowadays, and it is available on request, just like the slippers. We will reinforce the message to the team to ensure they always make it clear to future customers. Let us know when you are back...please do! Thanks again and have a great time ahead

From the minute we arrived into the cool, air conditioned lounge, we felt at home. This place is so cool, lovely big bedroom 716 and very well equipped for a budget-priced hotel. Shampoo and shower gel, hairdryer, fridge and safe. Comfy beds and lovely bathroom. You have a black our shutter blind as well as a privacy blind, didn’t hear a peep of sound from the outside world at night. The people who work in this place are second to none, the service was so good from breakfast to general enquiries at the desk, they greeted us like family, using our first names every time they saw us! They printed a little ‘first time in Madrid’ leaflet for us which was adorable. The arcade machine and football table were well used by us and the rooftop pool and surrounding terraces are divine. Madrid was 35-38 degrees while we were there, totally boiling but the hotel was cool, air con in the room was excellent and we had a great view of the city over the palace. There was an ice machine on our floor, probably on all the floors, which my daughter loved going to and from to fetch ice.
COVID-19 measures are in place. Masks to be worn unless at breakfast or the pool, hand sanitiser everywhere, we felt very safe and protected by this wonderful team of people and shared many great chats with them. Buffet breakfast isn’t running so you choose from a menu and they bring your selections to you. You can take it all back to your room or eat there in the lounge, up to you.
Madrid itself is the most lovely city. Clean and cool, sassy, stylish and authentic, quite unlike Barcelona which feels like New York in comparison.
The parks are gorgeous, so well kept. Lovely architecture and easy to navigate. We walked or cycled everywhere, didn’t use any public transport at all. Great food options throughout the city and close to the hotel, excellent pavement cafe culture, as well as an excellent rooftop scene. The hotel’s pool and bar area were busy at night with groups and couples but never did I feel uncomfortable sitting up there, playing cards and drinking beer with my 8 year old until the sun went down. Oh, the sunset is perfect too!
We can’t rave enough about the Aloft hotel, they really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. We checked out on our day of departure but they welcomed us back in the afternoon to hang out, swim and even let us back into our old room to shower and change before heading to the airport.
Madrid was simply wonderful and I think a large part of that was down to the family at the Aloft.

i'm quite surprised this doesn't rank higher. I have been to Madrid a lot and used to always stay at the Room Mate Oscar or Room Mate Laura (both fantastic) but I chose Aloft this time so i'd get my Marriott points. I loved everything about it. The staff at check in were wonderful. The room is big, new, and very comfortable and the bathroom is all new with a great shower. The rooftop view has the most incredible view of Madrid that you will see. Truly amazing. I was surprised it wasn't packed - I guess people don't know about it.

I have one criticism and I hope the hotel reads this (though I won't let it impact my rating) - My room on the 10th floor was next door to some kind of service room. The cleaners would go in and out of that room and they would yell to each and let the door slam every time. it was extremely annoying. They just need to be told to keep the noise down and gently close the door. Apart from that this hotel was a real gem.

And very good value too!

Lastly, the location is perfect. Steps to Gran Via and all the shopping. And steps to Cheuca with all the great bars (highly recommend this hotel for gay tourists as Chueca is the place to be and you can walk there).

Having stayed at several Aloft properties, I have come to understand this brand to be dependably affordable, but basic. Through the power of passionate, hospitable staff, and a clear investment in a small food & beverage program, this Aloft has risen above the rest.

We stayed on New Year’s Eve. As Marriott Platinum guests, the gentleman who checked us in upgraded us to a Terrace room from which we would watch the fireworks over Madrid.

In a city that baffled us on New Year’s Eve (not a restaurant or reservation to be found... we tried 13 places!), we were so relieved to find that the rooftop bar of the Aloft (a Madrid hidden gem, btw) would have the nicest party for guests we could imagine. The prices are shockingly affordable (bottle of Cava for 28€) and still they brought out little gifts of grapes for each person, noise-makers, party hats and the works.

The breakfast spread was simple and high quality. Outstanding for an Aloft, and puts fancier hotels to shame as the quality of ingredients was much higher than would be expected at a hotel.

The whole thing made me feel so welcome and taken care of, and the staff were truly wonderful. Every one of them warm, open to giving advice about the city, and attentive to guests’ needs.

We’ve just completed an 5 day stay at the Aloft Gran Via in Madrid, so I thought I’d share our review.

This was our 3rd trip to Madrid this year and for this trip we selected stay at the Aloft Gran Via based on two factors:
1) the value for money reviews we found during our research; and
2) the hotel’s location.

We utilized points to book this stay and did not regret our choice in the least. As such, I can confirm that the value for money reviews you find online are accurate. The hotel is professionally run, well maintained with large comfortable rooms along with an amazing rooftop bar/view.

As for the location, the hotel is located at the top portion of Gran Via, right at Plaza del Callao (which everyone knows for the ‘Schweppes Building’). You are walking distance to all that Madrid Centro has to offer and in the beating heart of the most vibrant part of the city. The lively nature of the area, coupled with the amazing choices of dinning options nearby really made our choice of staying at the Aloft Gran Via stand out.

We would recommend the Aloft Gran Via to our friends and will be back ourselves someday.

The hotel lost all internet services including TV, WiFi, Phones. The Staff couldn't answer with credible information on the situation neither took the initiative to suggest or provide a tool to at least facilitate internet connection to many of the guest that needed to work, including myself.
I had the luck, almost at midnight on the first blackout date, to get in contact with the only Staff member, a Receptionist, that cared to give his name and was kind enough to facilitate a cable and explained they had open a conference room for the guests to try connect to the web services.
So far, after 3 nights at the hotel, the lack of internet service persists. On my second night I suggested the only person with customer service approach to tell his manager to at least hand some written communications to the rooms or at least stick a note in the elevators to try to ease so much uncertainty
Disappointing, this is a Marriott property and regardless of the member status, there is no awareness of customer value and long term loyalty.
Both my husband and I are Life time Platinum members, and we are only expecting decent customer service granted to any guest.
Also, take into consideration that if you speak a language other than Spanish, the No Name lady in charge of breakfast will provide a better service, probably more shocking than the lack of internet!

We arrived early, about 11am, the friendly manager was able to check us in right away and give us a room on the 8th floor, with lovely views of Madrid. This is a new hotel, well equipped, comfortable, in the center. They have a swimming pool on the roof with a bar, with expansive views of the city. The room has a small refrigerator, which unlike most such things is quiet. Good selection of TV channels, but if you want to watch a La Liga match you will probably have to go to a bar. The hotel is less than one block from the metro, a super market, and scores of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. You can be at such famous places as the Plaza del Sol, the Plaza Mayor, and the Opera in less than ten minutes by foot. El Corte Ingles is less than five minutes away. The only quirk are the elevators. There is a bank of two, one tiny, one normal, and then a third hidden around the corner. At peak times you might have to wait a minute or two.

I've stayed at a few Alofts in the US and none were like this one. First impression: outdated, dark and uninviting atmosphere in the lobby. Seriously, they keep the lights off here in the lobby even in the early morning during breakfast so you can hardly see what's on the buffet. It was a strange and moody atmosphere. They only have one coffee maker too so it's a line up to make a cappuccino in the morning. The decor is catering to the millennial crowd I suppose with a very minimalist feel in the furnishings. It just appeared outdated and I think the whole hotel needs a design change. The rooms were adequately clean and pretty standard in size. In the shower I did not like that there was no shelf to put your toiletries on. Lighting in bathroom was also poor. A plus: the wonderful bottled shampoo and conditioner from Drybar. Excellent! Beds were very comfortable so that was a plus. As many other say, the elevators are somewhat a nightmare and are SLOW and SMALL. So be prepared to wait. Otherwise, service was great and probably the best thing about this place along with location. I would not stay here again though.

Dear misseattle, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Aloft Madrid Gran Via. Our main goal is our guest satisfaction here in Aloft Madrid Gran Via, and I'm really sorry to falling short your expectations. I am extremely concern to learn about your experience at Aloft Madrid Gran Via hotel, I do apologize that you find our areas dark since all the lights are on all day long and they are strategically placed to illuminate the necessary areas, however, I have informed our Maintenance team to see the possibility in add some extra lights, also, regarding the shelf missing in the bathroom, our Maintenance team will take it in consideration for future furniture improvements. I understand that been waiting for the elevators it can be frustrated, however, we do have 3 elevators working and it can be slow in determinate hours when everybody are using them. Once more, accept my apologies for this bad experience. In the other hand, I'm thrilled to learn that you found our beds comfortable. Also, I would like to thank you for recognizing the service. Overall, I am very sorry that we couldn't provide a memorable stay, I wish we had all this information in order to revert your experience. There are several Marriott properties to choose from. I chose this property primarily for the location on the Gran Via and the fact that it had a rooftop pool which turned out to be wonderful in the Madrid heat. Check in was a breeze. Bar Service at the pool was fabulous. The room was a nice size for two adults. We had no issues with wifi. Breakfast was included in our rate and it has both hot and cold items.
At night there was someone watching the door. We stayed out late and always felt safe in the area. We would stat at Aloft again for sure.

While not a 5 star hotel, the Aloft is a great choice if looking for a mid-range hotel in central Madrid. New hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, great lounge area and nice rooftop bar with (outdoor) pool. Location is very central, just off the Grand Via with easy walking access to great shopping in Chueca and major department stores off the Puerta del Sol. The Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor are 5-10 minutes and the 3 major museums only about 15-20 walk. We never needed to use the subway or taxis. We took advantage of free breakfast based on Marriott status. A basic spread of coffee, cheeses, yogurts, breads and scrambled eggs. Might not be worth paying for. The WXYZ bar on the top floor has very nice views of the City at night and bartender is great. Only caveat is that the street the hotel is on is only open to taxis and buses so UBER and Cabify cannot pick up or drop off directly in front. You can get ride share services about 50 feet walk from hotel on the Gran Via. Have them drop you off in front of the Cine Callao or Callao metro stop,
