The hotel staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms are really bright and clean and in no way claustrophobic, the bathroom and shower are also large fresh and clean.
The walls are thin! There is a music stack in the room and our neighbours decided it was a sensible thing to turn it up full on a Sunday at 23:35 To the hotels credit the lady at reception solved the issue within minutes.
Breakfast is excellent, with both hot and cold. The bacon eggs and veggies were worth a try every day. Its pastries are stunning always fresh. Coffee is a machine and could be better, if you’re English take strong brew tea bags as the tea is a bit weak.
You can rent electric scooters from the hotel at E29, these are fast and used by many in the city, but you are close enough for a good walk to all of the main attractions at an average 15,000 steps per day.
Don’t be afraid to use the local tapas bar out the hotel to the left on the corner of Roselló and Aribau, the food is well priced and stunning service. Sit inside as the sewage smell can be a bit breath taking on this corner, it won’t disappoint inside!
Evenings found us using Tapas more at car of Roselló and Balmas, but don’t walk past the Balthazar literally just across the road from the hotel, it is the best food we had in Barcelona all stay and cheaper than many of the smaller restaurants! Their food and Spanish red wine is stunning! Hjun (Junior) is a brilliant and helpful Maitre’D

Clean, modern 3 star hotel at best. Would never had said 4 star. And the room never gets clean even if you are staying for a week. No clean towels/bed linen nothing. We requested an early check in, possibly 10am and the hotel emailed us back and said it would be no problem at all. When we got there it was a simple “NO”. Reception guy one in particular has a huge English language barrier he hadn’t a clue what we were talking about. So check in wasn’t so good. We checked in at 12.30 in the so that wasn’t so bad.
Breakfast staff are lovely. Welcoming. Breakfast was good, a few good choices. Chicken wings and Grilled peppers was odd. Bacon needed to be cooked more.
The walls are super thin, when someone bangs their door you can hear it all over the hotel. They really should have grips or stoppers in place for the door before closing to make sure the banging isn’t so loud.
Also there is no English stations on tv- not one. No Netflix either. Which was disappointing as I like to listen to tv while I sleep. There is a blue tooth speaker in the room, yes it’s great, but one night I woke at 3am to classical freaky Japanese music and kids laughing in the background 🎶 👀😂 so to wake up to that, you can imagine the horror. Literally. Clearly someone connected their blue tooth to another room (mine) and that can happen. I connected up to the speaker and I heard my music play next door. So this is the only bad thing about those speakers. We were never in the room but when we were these are all noticeable points. 💯

I was very pleased overall. Great service and excellent facilities, in a good location. However, I docked one star because the lady serving breakfast was very rude to me. Otherwise, it is a very nice hotel.

Terrible experience. Avoid this facility in any way.
I stayed for 3 days in June. The room is really below average in quality, not worth the price I paid. I am attaching pictures of some details, the room was full of things like that. But... the worst part is not this. The first morning at breakfast we were told that they had a problem with the electrical appliances and only had mini-muffins available (I swear, nothing else, only those). To apologize, we were told that breakfast will of course be refunded to us, we just needed to ask at the reception. At the reception they told us we had to wait the day after. The next day there are still problems, the breakfast is only partial and we are told that we are entitled to a refund again. Reception was making lame excuses blaming Booking. From that moment until now, months and dozens of messages later, endless time lost to request a refund but still no trace of the refund. This even after the hotel confirms by text that yes, we will receive the refund. The hotel does not care about its customers nor treats their concerns with any seriousness towards its customers and has shown this multiple times to us. Stay away from them.

The staff are incapable to work in the hotel business. The “manager” is a rude woman. “Customer service” is unknown to them. The hotel also stinks of sewage the second you walk through the door. I have never experienced worst attitude and service

Good hotel but beware!!!!!! Left our luggage as room wasn't ready, when we got back one of the bags was missing containing one passport and paperwork. No notices to say left at risk, staff did what they could but NOT a one off. Keep everything with you as we spent the week sorting things out. Please be careful.

Public areas are very small with a small bar area which has limited seating and a few bottles of spirits on show. Checking in was easy and as we arrived early our luggage was stored with no problem. The room was basic and lacked soundproofing both from rooms adjacent and outside. Our shower flooded the bathroom floor so much that we had to use our towels to avoid slipping. A grab rail would have been great in the shower as I have problems with balance. Security was an issue as we were able to enter hotel and take the elevator without seeing any member of staff or scanning our key card to activate the lift.

- great location in the quieter area, and the connections with the underground are great, 10.70 10journey ticket lasted us all 3 days we were in Barcelona. Lots of resteraunts near by, didn’t fin a cheap one though!
-breakfast was ok, not the best but eatable, I had bacon and scrambled egg on crossaint most days 😂
Room- spacious very modern , loved it, only let down was if you had a shower, the whole bathroom got drenched and flooded. Bad design.
Staff, the reception guys were very helpful and got room service and anything you needed very very promptly , but the housekeepers didn’t speak a word of English, seemed rude, and didn’t really house keep , just changed your bed.
Pool - nice view, got the sun till about 4 , seating area and gym very basic, but the pool seemed abit dirty :/ still swam in it tho

Me and my wife was there in August 2016.
We are very disappointed.
- The breakfast was not very good. The dishes dirty. The egg was horrible. If you come during the last hour of breakfast so there is not much left.
- the towels were dirty sometimes. Always there is hair in the towels!!
- thee pool was gods the dirt day. Then from the second day there was a group of young men who occupied the whole pool with there high music. It was uncomfortable to be there at the same time plus the pool is very little. We thought that we would go to the pool later on these days. But nobody clean after them. The water in the poll was dirty many days after they lifted the hotel. They even stood in the pool and smoke!!
- the air conditioning did not work in three days. It was warm. And when we asked they said that they can invite us to breakfast ( which we already have paid for)!!! But they invited all other people that where there and the breakfast was bad and became worse during those three days!!!
- after taking a shower so the whole bathroom was full with water. They did not have always bathrooms rug to leave in the room every day. When we asked they said that we can use the towels!!
The only good thing is that the personal and those working in the hotel were very nice helpful. Otherwise it was not worth.

Agree with most of good opinions, location is perfect, employees are friendly, but what I can't tolerate at all is those wonderful lovely bed bugs in my room. Look at the picture and enjoy your stay in BCN Urban.

Dear mark66smith, the hotel is 3.8 km from Camp Nou, but you have a public transport Bus Nº 67 or 63 or metro L5 line blue and you arrive nearby Camp Nou and walking about 7-12 minutes (you spend 30 minutes from the hotel). The taxi is another option but on game days there is a lot of traffic and it takes almost the same time as in public transport. Kind regards

We checked in at around 13.30 and the room was ready.... check out time was 11 am so I should think normal checking in time is around 14.00
Provença Metro Station is 1 block away.
