Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I stayed with my wife and 2 children, me for work and them to enjoy the city. The property was in a busy part of the Gothic Quarter so we knew that it would be busy, but it was not as loud as we expected and the sound insulation was good.
The room itself was spacious and leant itself very well to our experience.
The staff on the desk were very pleasant, as were those doing the cleaning.
We didn't eat breakfast at the property so couldn't comment on this.
Building work next door did begin at 0800, but as we had the kids we were up by then anyway, although I could see how it could be an issue for others.
The location is outstanding. Less than 5 minute walk to the Metro and so much of the city available within walking distance to cater for the majority of tastes.
Experiences are individual. I've seen the recent reviews and can't say that was the experience we shared. We would visit the city again and happily stay at the same property.

An old building in the narrow streets of the old town, refurbished and converted to a hotel. Pros: excellent location, good breakfast. Cons: no natural light in the rooms, noisy (people passing by the whole night, some of them shouting and lathing), ageing room equipment (lights not working well). Some staff friendly, some others rather cold.

Boutique hotel, quaint, so clean, well appointed, excellent location, huge loft room, amazing balcony, lovely staff, quiet, perfect for families, walkable. Would highly recommend. Full kitchen, easy access to markets, really cool wine bar next door, can’t wait to return!

It was a really disappointing stay. We had stayed there before in 2017 and things had diminished significantly since then. The bathroom was really gross. The shower leaked through the shower door and wall and flooded the floor. The room was advertised as having a kitchen, but although there were appliances present, some of them, like the stove, were disconnected. So, basically it was just a fridge and a coffee maker which would be in any hotel room and not worth the premium price of having a kitchen. The staff was also very mixed. One of the front desk representative was great, but the others were much less hospitable. There were also other tacky things like the hotel didn't replace soap and shampoo after the first day and wanted to charge us 1 euro per coffee pod after the first night. We were there for 5 days and spent a lot of money at this hotel and it really wasn't remotely worth it. The location was good. which is why they get 2 stars instead of one star. I would not stay here again and I'm writing this review after I gave the hotel a chance to make things right and they sent me a rude email back.

Booked this hotel as reviews and photos looked good.
The reality was very different.
Room was dirty and smelly. Location was on a side street that smelt like urine, and after hours, when the shops had closed, the street became very dodgy with all sorts of unsavoury characters lurking.

We recently stayed at Boria BCN for three nights and had an overall pleasant stay. The room itself was pretty impressive, large, modern and with nice amenities. Great location - a stumble away from the Metro, decent restaurants nearby, close to Born and Picasso Museum. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Complimentary Champagne is a nice touch. Yes, it's a bit noisy. People wandering the streets late at night, early in the morning - screaming, talking loud and generally going about their business. We had some difficulty with the heating system, some areas would get unbearably hot while others were ultra-frigid. The good definitely outweighs the bad - I can't imagine being able to find a room this size for the price. We'd would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is located in the streets of old town barcelona, fairly hidden but close to metro subway. The Hotel is nicely decorated and offers very good amenities, very clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Very good value for money and recommend for a short break.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights during the first week of March 2006. Room and location were excellent. Room was very clean and quite large consisting of: lower level with large bedroom and sitting area, and upper level with small fully equipped kitchenette; large modern bathroom with shower and double sink; and smaller separate bedroom with two twin beds and flat panel TV. All appliances and HVAC worked well. Location is in the heart of Bari Gothic within easy walking distance to restaurants, Picasso Museum, shops, Las Ramblas and subway stop. Only drawbacks were as follows: hotel is a little difficult to find initially; staff is a little reserved; and there is quite a bit of street noise at night because of location. These small drawbacks were completely offset by outstanding accomodations and excellent location. Would definitely stay there again.

Walked into our room at the Boria and were delighted. So much space in the suite and 2 bathrooms between three of us ladies. Small hitch in the beds, one kingsize and two smallish twin, so being there for 3 nights we each had a turn in the big one! Very friendly and helpful staff on reception who recommended Taller de Tapa, very close and excellent food and drink. They warned us about taking care in the area but we had no problems. Enjoyed the cava provided in the room!

The Hotel Boria is hands down the best place I've stayed in Barcelona, and I've tried several other well-rated hotels, such as the Neri. It's location in Born is practically unique. There really aren't any other hotels in the heart of Born that I know of. I booked accommodations for 2 and got a 2-bedroom loft with a full kitchen, gorgeous black granite bathroom, hip sitting area with couch and chairs, and a small balconey. The bed had a down comforter and everything was perfectly clean. I love the Hotel Boria. My only complaint is that there are no online reservations, and it can be pretty hard to book.

Dear Mrs. Diane,
We are located in The Born area, it is part of the Old City of Barcelona. It's here that you'll find a large number of monuments and ancient sites to visit. However, don't be fooled by its medieval streets, because Born has been filled with new shops, bars and restaurants that make it one of the most modern neighborhoods of Barcelona.
It is a picturesque and cultural part of the city with a vibrant café culture, bar scene and amazing night life.
You can feel safe between us.
Regards,
Mercer House Team

Aeropuerto de Barcelona - El Prat. You could take the Aerobus from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and get off at Plaça Catalunya. The trip is not so long. Less than an hour.
As far as I was aware, the hotel did not have shuttle service. Of course, taxi service is available to the airport. It cost us approximately $20 US dollars. Hope I was of some help to your question.
There is not a bath and it does have a small kitchen. But the stove has been disconnected so you can not use it. We asked why thinking we could save some money as a family of five by cooking in house. We were told that it's a hotel room now. Something to do with the law. Before it was an apartment. Also the fridge does not get very cold quickly. Hope this helps.
"24 hour concierge to open front door added to safety of this small hotel. We were too busy to use the pool or terrace but had it been warmer I sure we would have made it up there. "
There are more places to choose from in the Barcelona area.
