This fantastic hotel, formerly Catalonia Eixample 1864, is located in the city's historic centre, next to Plaza Cataluña. Situated in one of the first buildings in the enlargement ("Eixample") of the city of Barcelona. It was designated a Historical Monument thanks to its interesting eclectic classical style. It is the only building that conserves the wealth of paintings and decorations on the original front, which have been fully restored. On the Modernist Route, it is located very close to Paseo de Gracia and the busiest commercial area of Barcelona.

The Catalonia Eixample hotel was one of the best We’ve visited , the staff were amazing the location was excellent and the rooms were extremely well kept , they made my partners special occasion one to remember and I would not hesitate in using them again . I have given it 5 stars but if I could give more I would . Thank you so much to all that work for the hotel and we will be seeing you real soon .

We found the staff during our stay to be very unfriendly and unhelpful. No greetings or a smile when entering. They were not accommodating at all for an early check in for even 1 of our 2 rooms when we had been up travelling since 3 am despite the fact we emailed prior and they made it sound like they would be. However housekeeping saw me moving our bags from our room on our final day And went in and cleaned it before 9:30 without me even officially checking out. Not good value for the cost. Pool was quite small and expensive - 13€ for a drink and 15€ for a sandwhich. Breakfast however was good with a wide variety and a reasonable orice.
Hotel staff is not helpful for advice on day trips. We were actually told we would have no issues for a day trip we wanted to do by bus ans we got to the bus station and the buses were all sold out. Location is decent. Close to amenities and transit stop.

The hotel is located at a calm and nice place close to everything. The Breakfast was Nice and the chef making the eggs was the best. The pool area was ok but the food was plain and not so creative. The gym is small and We booked one morning and the guest before arrived later Than he had booked, the receptionist told us that We have to wait for him to be ready, so we had to wait 25 minutes and the man in the reception said that it is nothing he could do about it and showed no understanding what so ever. One night there was 2 rooms close to us that had parties so We could not sleep until 2 am, But the reception told them after We called a few times. Also, When They cleaned the room, the Only thing that was made was the bed and towels, the other things in the room was not cleaned. The service towards the guests was alright from a few of the staff but often they did not greet us or showed any hospitality. Overall the Hotel is alright but after experience in the travelagency industry I must say it does not live up to 4 stars.

We have been to Barcelona several times and love this neighborhood where Catalonia Eixample 1864 is located. The hotel’s facade is strikingly beautiful with all the paintings. We found the staff very friendly and helpful which made the stay even more enjoyable. There are several restaurants nearby as well as great shopping and Gaudi’s skull and bones building Casa Batlló. I am fussy about noise at night and the double panes windows made the room very quiet and cosy and we slept extremely well. The morning’s buffet for breakfast was exquisite— eggs anyway you like them, a selection of cheeses, quiches, salads, tortes, muffins, pastries, yogurts, fresh squeezed juices and many other beverages. We will return to Catalonia Eixample again and again.

The service as the front desk was very good, from the check-in to the check-out process. The location lends itself to some of the most popular attractions in Barcelona. The hotel room was compact and high tech, while the bed was comfortable. The shower was awesome, it had two separate faucets, one for the 12” diameter rain shower and another for the shower wand. I like the fact that the toilet was a soft close lid, as well as the lighting in the room. And finally, a hotel gets it right, the soft close room door was fantastic, I didn’t have to hear other doors slam shut!

A very well-managed hotel with friendly, accommodating and efficient staff across the board. The room was impeccable, and I would go as far as say luxurious. Breakfast included a selection to suit every taste, and the three-course set menu at dinner was delicious and great value. I would add that the precautions taken during COVID-19 were exceptional.

We have visited 9 hotels across 8 cities in France and Spain over the last month and this was the most expensive and the worst of the lot … by a long way. Which room took 4 return trips to the front desk, trying to get laundry done took 4 visits and even then we ended up doing it ourselves in a nearby laundry, getting keys that worked another three visits, the room was noisy, it took a solid five minutes of running cold water before you could get hot in the shower. Each visit to the front desk was a disappointment, staff either knew nothing and had to ask a friend or we’re rude in answering questions, either way you couldn’t rely on the answer you received. The only nice things I can say is that it was a good location and the breakfast was easily the best of all the hotels we stayed at in our trip. In summary - I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Dear guest, We are very sorry the hotel did not reach your expectations. And of course, we thank you for sharing your opinion with us and other users of the web site. We already sent a copy of your complaint to our housekeeping department and to our front desk manager and we will analyze every single problem you had during your stay. Regarding the delay in getting the hot water, it works perfectly fine now. So, we assume one of the re-circulation pumps could have been off for a while. Just in case, we have opened a fault report with our maintenance team. Regarding the rates, unfortunately you chose some of the most difficult days in the year because of the celebration of a huge congress in the city. Once again, please accept our most sincere apologies for the problems you experienced during your stay. The location in pretty good but all else is largely overrated.
The wood and wood-colored walls are OK but monotonic without any decoration. This yields a pretty cold and bland atmosphere. The whole place is quite noisy. The ground floor is all tiles and upper floors all wood, no carpeting. Kids running and yelling sometimes late at night are thus a nuisance. And the room walls are poorly sound-proofed. Maintenance is also shabby. The door to the mens’ toilet on the ground floor does not lock. Urin stains dripping along the outside of the toilet bowl. Plenty of moisture stains around the bathtub. One of the two lifts did not work for two days.
Room equipment is ill-designed / missing: no Kleenex, no toilet brush, toilet paper roll so misplaced it is unusable when sitting on the toilet seat.
The service staff is friendly but obviously ineffective. When we got back to the hotel late after dinner we discovered that one of our beds was not fresh. The bottom sheet wqs clearly wrinkled and soiled with black hair. The bathroom sink was stuffed, which says as much about the previous customers as about the room maid who did not report it !!! We reported both immediately; the sink was cleared the next day but the sheets were still not changed, same black hair and same stains at the same spots!!!

The hotel was clean, comfortable and excellently located. The check in was a little idiosyncratic (we’ve never been asked to pay in full on arrival before) but the staff were all helpful and professional. Breakfast was very decent but with so many outstanding options available outside not really worth the additional charge every day. There was lots of construction going on right by the hotel but amazingly it didn’t cause any disturbance once you were inside.

I stayed from 03 to 06 November in this property located in the center of Barcelona. In addition to the good location - the hotel is located a few hundred meters from Casa Battló - the structure stands out for the silent environments, the cleanliness of the room and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. I would particularly like to thank Mrs. Luna for the patience with which she helped me reach the places of greatest cultural interest. A further thank you to all the staff for the pleasant surprise for my birthday. I hope to come back soon!
