We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of March 2020. The hotel receptionist, I think her name was Vivienne, gave us a very warm welcome and showed us the food bar etc and then to our room. She was very helpful whenever we needed information as were the other receptionists we saw during our stay. The staff were all very friendly.

The hotel is very well situated in Barcelona being only a couple of blocks from two Gaudi properties which are definitely worth visiting, as well as the centre of Barcelona etc. We walked everywhere and several times we did pop back to the hotel during the day for coffee and snacks which are available 24 hours a day, as well as wine, beer, fruit etc all of which are included in the room price. Our room was comfortable and well equipped but if you like modern hotels this isn’t for you. The hotel is an old traditionally Spanish building and is furnished and decorated accordingly which makes it quite interesting and a change from the norm. It could be described as quirky but in a good way. If we were going back to Barcelona, which I’m sure we will, I would stay here again.

The buses from the airport stop a block south and the main pick up for the tour buses is there too. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to walk to Sagrada Familia, 5 minutes to La Rambla and 20 to 30 minutes to the beach.

Overall we had a very good stay at the Hotel Continental Palacete. The location is super convenient - right off of a quieter part of La Rambla, close to a lot of great tapas restaurants, very close to attractions, and just a few minutes walk from the Plaza Catalunya airport bus stop. Our room overlooked La Rambla, which was cool. It was a little small, but it was fine. My only complaint with the room is the bathroom - there is no counter space whatsoever, which makes it difficult to do your hair/makeup. The 24/7 buffet was definitely a plus. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and being able to have a glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast was late one morning, and it was a morning where we needed to meet a tour group at a certain date, but other than that, everything was great.

Very nice, quaint hotel in a very good location. It is a few blocks from the busy Las Ramblas, but still has shops and a large walking area down the middle ot the street. I'll be staying here again!! They have beer on tap all of the time and chilled wine. The small buffet was a great way to save money and eat at your leisure. There was a small safe in the room. I was a little disappointed that the room did not have a "balcony" as I was told, but you could open the large window and watch the people outside. There are two small balconies off of the beautiful dining room, so you could sit outside, although they were small. The bed was comfy and the staff was awesome!! Taxi stand is just outside the front doors. Walked a few blocks to catch the HOHO tour bus. Restaurants were all around. Great stay!

This hotel is a unique experience. Traditional features with a modern twist. Very well presented hotel with a range of snack food on the 24 hour buffet. Well located on the Rambla. Easy to find from the metro and shopping and eating district. The size of the room in the suite was large but compensated by the bathroom taking up part of the space for the bedroom which seemed rather odd. However the bathroom was well presented and functioned perfectly fine. The reception were always welcoming and had a keen eye on the arrivals and departures for the safety and security of the hotel. All in all a very good experience. No hiccups and no drama!

This was a real experience! The hotel is quirky to say the least but we enjoyed our one night stay. All the public spaces are spectacular; a palace. Not very big but very impressive. The halls, dining room and part of our room are like something out of a film. However.... we had one of the suites, room 139, and while the living area was delightful, the bedroom was "compact" to say the least! Fortunately we are both slim but larger guests may have a problem moving around the room and attached bathroom! The bedroom and bathroom are triangular in shape and tiny in comparison with the living room. For our short stay we were comfortable enough but I doubt we would have been for a longer time . The other peculiarity of this hotel is its unusual policy of offering a 24 hour free buffet meal service. This served us well and saved money by not eating out. It should be said however, that the choice of food is quite limited, again for our one night stay, no problem. All in all, we had a good stay, laughed at the quirky features and had a bargain price !

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in the last week of June 2021. The hotel receptionist was fabulous. She gave us a warm welcome (behind a mask), checked us in, and showed us the 24 hour food bar. I have to say, that was a huge hit. Including the beer the was on tap and the frozen yogurt.

Our room was a good size, provided with USB ports, many outlets, a safe, controlled air conditioning, and automatically controlled blackout shades. The room was very clean upon arrival and well sanitized.

The location is very conveniently located. We walked everywhere during our 5 day stay. I am looking forward to my next trip back because I will definitely be staying here for each visit.

This charming boutique hotel has been around since 1826. You definitely feel as if you have stepped back in time. On the other hand, the place is not fragile or rundown. The wallpaper looks as fresh as the day it was hung. The furniture is 19th century elegant but fully functional. On the other hand, each room is fully 21st century with a TV, refrigerator, and microwave, big thick bath towels, and wonderfully comfortable mattresses.

The people at the front desk are always so happy, cheerful, helpful and accommodating.

The hotel has an amazing, complimentary 24-hour buffet with fruit, cold meats and salads, an assortment of breads/croissants, wine, beer, juices, soft serve ice cream, and an expresso machine. Those items are always available and at breakfast time, there is even more, including omelets and hot breakfast meat. If you are feeling lazy, you literally don't need to leave the place for a meal.

In terms of location, you could not ask for more. It is located on Rambla de Catalunya and offers as many restaurants as you could wish for. There is a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. And Gaudi's house is nearby.

We will be back!

We booked a Double room months in advance but on arrival were instead given a Comfort room which is a level below the Double and costs less .No refund or adjustment was made , the money for the Double was collected on arrival at the Reception so there was no chance of a refund. The lady at the reception was rude when we brought up the topic that the room did match the pictures .
It had no window only a door that opened out into a dark/dingy small balcony in inner shaft of the building and was so small that we could hardly move or put our suitcases down to open. The room did not match the pictures we saw for the double room we booked.
Yes there was a breakfast and buffet through the day but everything was cold . If you sat there long enough you would notice that throughout the day the food is not lifted but they keep piling and refilling onto the old stale food.We were also told by the reception lady ( rudely ) that we need to clear our own plates , take them to the pantry, segregate the waste , and put our plates at the sink ( here there were other dirty plates and some insects hovering on them).
I give it a rating of 2 only because of its location and a receptionist John who was courteous and helped carry our bags .The two ladies at the reception one was rude and the other did not seem to know anything .

We stayed in this hotel at the end of December. We booked a standard room which was announced on the continental palace site between 14 and 18 sqm.. while (we measured it) less than 10 sq m. The view was on the staircase (full of pigeons) and with almost no light. fortunately the person at the counter change us to a balcony room (which was better.. but not that fantastic eihter .. as it was very noisy because of the street) and the bathroom was without heating system (in the middle of the winter!
our experience was very bad and we will not return to this hotel (which is more like a guest house for backpackers .. On the top of that, the nice room which which is shown at the entrance of the hotel belongs to another hotel

Quirky hotel that for the $ you can find a much more comfortable stay elsewhere. The room is quite small to bear, no room for suitcases. Our room turned into a steaming terrarium after the shower was used and a moldy smell permeated the air. Our last night was unbearable. We stayed at another hotel for a little bit more money and it was like night and day. The buffet was a nice touch but a good nights sleep is worth a few extra dollars.

Hello, I do not remember, but they were almost floor to ceiling in my room and we didn't have any issues with light coming in. I also believe that there was a sheer curtain under the main curtain. Try to email the staff, they were very friendly and responsive!

We took a taxi from the airport. It was about 35 euros. For us, worth the price for the convenience.
