We arrived at 12 noon on Saturday. A friendly male member of staff helped us check in early. Room 511 with a street view. A good size clean room with a large bathroom, 2 lifts meant little time waiting to head up or down. Nice reception area to relax on our final day.
I love the incentive to reduce cleaning with a free drink voucher.
A smart hotel with friendly staff, in a good location with a decent mix of stylish bars & restaurants nearby. La Rambla is about a 15 min walk away.

I’ve stayed at other nh hotels and is not of the same standard as the others.
The hotel is in a great location and the staff are helpful and well trained. That’s the positives.
Unfortunately, the shower was not working and although housekeeping can to look at the problem immediately, it was not fixed during our stay.
Unfortunately, the garage car parking was not working although they do have discounted rates with a local car park.
Unfortunately, the hotel needs refurbishment. Our room certainly did not look like the promotional photos. The bed was the worst I’ve experienced during my 5 weeks touring Spain.
Unfortunately, there are not enough staff. Expect a queue at check-in and a wait to be served at breakfast.
I presume like other hotels in Barcelona, dogs are allowed to stay in rooms. Whilst I love dogs, I don’t want the room to smell of dogs nor do I want to hear barking from adjacent rooms. Perhaps they should designate certain rooms as “doggy” rooms and not let these rooms to 2 legged guests.

I would like to thank you for highlighting our location, and specially our staff’s professionalism. We regret we did not cover your expectations and would like to thank you for your comments regarding the areas to improve on, in which we will work hard in order to make you feel special and cared for, as it is one of our main premises. Regarding the room maintenance, we are planning a refurbishment expected for next year, although we currently have already implemented all the new standards that our guests deserve to offer an extraordinary experience as our so called Brilliant Basics: new mattresses, bases, televisions sets, pillows, shower heads, etc…. Our company is pet friendly, however, we have strict cleaning procedures in all our rooms. I stayed there a weekend in August- first and foremost, the staff and generally the service is impeccable. The receptionists are all extremely friendly, efficient and always smiling and same for the housekeeping team. I really enjoyed this. The hotel is located in a residential area approx 1km out from Placa Catalunya.
However, I booked a room on the NH website and I took the cheapest option with a picture of a double bed.
But I ended up with a single bed room!! I agree that on my confirmation it does say "single room" but it is extremely misleading since the pictures show show double beds.... they need to change the pictures as soon as possible! I agree that I could/should have seen "single room" but I just looked at the picture. Extremely surprising that a chain such as NH doesn't have correct pictures.
While I did find the room of quite decent size and actually pretty nice the main problem is that you hear way too much about what is going on next door or in the corridors. You also hear when the room next door is taking a shower. Very frustrating especially since it wakes you up in the morning...
All in all I do recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place that is not too expensive but take the room sound problem in consideration.

PROS:
The NH Eixample is located on a more quiet part of the C. de València, a residential area in the Eixample district of Barcelona. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Paseo de Gràcia, and along the way one can find nice shops, tapas bars, and cute little places to sit and rest. It's a great area.
It might be of interest to some that the entrance to the Hotel has a flight of steps, with no ramp for rolling suitcases or for disabled people in wheelchairs. A very nice man from reception helped us carry in our suitcases from the street. Thank goodness!
As NH Members, we are used to the modern, clean rooms NH offers, and our room was perfectly functional and did not disappoint.
Breakfast was fine, with NH Hotel's typical well-supplied buffet, and even some good local specialities.
We greatly appreciated the lovely, cheerful and helpful staff in the breakfast room.
CONS:
The hotel bar seemed to have very limited hours (we never saw it open).
Vending machines are available in the lobby. That was surprising for an NH Hotel.
Also surprising was that room service was less than adequate.
Although NH Hotels urge guests to use the ‘Mobile Guest Service’ by scanning a QR code in order to request room service, amenities and so forth with a mobile device, the service never worked.
We phoned reception and told them. Their reply was blasé. They told us to order by phone, which we did.
We were informed that many of the items on the already limited room service menu were not in stock, so we settled on what they told us was available.
There was a decent fruit salad. But.
The terrible quality of the rather expensive so-called "Angus Burgers" was shocking, almost insulting.
We wonder if someone actually went out to a fast food joint to pick them up.
Maybe that would have been better.
They arrived cold, skimpy and overcooked, with strands of limp, wilted lettuce and a thin, soggy slice of tomato sticking to the stale buns.
When phoning downstairs to ask what had become of a few other things we had ordered, we were told we should come downstairs ourselves to fetch them. Perhaps the hotel was understaffed, but still, that's rather outrageous.
After all, this is the NH Hotel!

The location of the hotel is semi-good. You need to walk 10 - 15 minutes to the next metro-station heading for town. Apart of that, there are some restaurants in the near area of the Eixample area. The front desk staff is efficient and very helpful, unfortunately the cleaning team is inefficient. Making up the room was done inadequately every time. The room itself can use some refurbishment and definitely a stronger AC. We did not take the breakfast, as EUR 18,50 is far too high and there are numerous Spanish diners in the area. In all, the hotel was acceptable.

The hotel is well situated, though not particularly close to a metro station. It's very clean and well serviced. I was disappointed that there was no coffee maker or kettle in the room, especially as the photos on Hotels.com had shown one. The soundproofing between rooms seemed poor - nextdoor's bathroom sounded like it was in the room, but thankfully it didn't disturb us too much. The windows did a pretty good job of keeping out most of the traffic noise.

We got a 3 bed room and it was spacious and clean. Rooms are quite modern. The hotel is located close to the city centre (10-15min walk, 5 min drive) and the transport links are good

The hotel is situated at a road where all the times cars are driving. It’s like living at a motorway. It is incredibly loud. I had a superior room in the 5. floor and could even hear from the the cars/motorcycles.In addition to that you can hear people from their rooms. I asked the reception several times If I could change rooms but no better alternative was available. I would not recommend to stay in that hotel. It’s my most horrible experience I ever had.

The hotel is arround 20 miinutes walk from the city center. We slept on the fifth floor and there was a constant sound of slamming doors. In addition, we could hear very clearly when the neighbors were showering

Dear Nisy19, The Hotel is about 10 minutes walking from Passeig the Gracia, one of the most popular avenues in Barcelona, where you can visit Casa Batllo, and la Pedrera. Plaça Catalunya is located 15-20 minutes walking distance. Nearest metro stations are located 3 minutes away walking distance (Urgell in L1 and hospital Clinic in L5). We wish you a very nice stay.
