The staff are so friendly and helpful - we had some wonderful local recommendations for where to eat and what to see in our short time in Barcelona. The location of the apartments is great with a lot of sights in walking distance and plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby.

We were visiting Barcelona for a week so that my son could attend a nearby language school, so I wanted an apartment rather than a hotel in order to have more space to work during the days when he was at school. The Eric Vokel apartments fit the bill very well; they are close to the school and in a somewhat less touristy area of Barcelona, so it feels safe. The metro is very convenient and there is a supermarket just a few door down, as well as cafes and restaurants galore.
These are proper apartments, not like some you will see which claim to be apartments but are basically just slightly larger hotel rooms with a hot plate and a fridge in! There were two bedrooms, a sitting area and a full size, well equipped kitchen as well as a bathroom and a utility room with a washer/drier. Like apartments in this part of Barcelona, only one room has an exterior window, the other bedroom faced into a (large) air shaft, which keeps it cooler and quieter. And also like apartments in this part of Barcelona, there is only one rather vintage elevator.
Unfortunately, you are somewhat at the mercy of your neighbours and our final two nights were marred by an inconsiderate group who had the apartments next door and above us. They left the door of the elevator open, meaning it could not be called back to the ground floor and so walking up was the only option. They also ran their washing machine at 10pm and then all very noisily went out for dinner. I don't think there was any noise after midnight, which I realise by Spanish standards is not that late!
Overall this was a great place to stay, although I would hesitate to stay there at the weekend. The aircon was very good, although a little patchy (the exterior-facing room quite a lot warmer than the interior-facing one). The apartment was properly equipped with an ironing board, a clothes drying rack and everything you could need. It definitely felt more authentic than staying in a hotel.
The reception staff were excellent and very willing to help out, although be aware that most days of the week reception is only open during the day, c. 9-5.
The somewhat rickety nature of the elevator is the reason I would not stay at this property with a wheelchair user, so that may be one thing to keep in mind. Overall I would recommend this place and would certainly consider an Eric Vokel apartment in one of the other cities where they offer them.

The goal of our 2-week independent trip to Spain in early May was to immerse ourselves in the local culture. So, staying in an apartment located in the core of the city was key. Eric Vökel Gran Vía Suites located on the Gran Via provided just that. Wonderful trees line the street, and we always felt safe walking at night. The Metro station was within metres outside the building. Tons of restaurants were within a couple blocks walk and a Condis grocery store was located to the right as you exited the building. We were able to walk to the Rambla area, the Montjuïc area where the Magic Fountain show takes place nightly, and we took the Metro to get to areas located further away. These well-outfitted apartment units have all the dishes/utensils, pots, pans, graters, colanders, cutting boards you will need. The bedroom was large and comfortable with ample closet space and a safe. The washer/dryer was in the storage closet with the water heater. The living room was a decent size and there was a table perfect for eating and to use for trip planning. At the front desk you can get coffee, soap pods, and other supplies. Staff was normally there to help if needed. The elevator was a little temperamental at times and usually someone had failed to close the door properly causing issues. It is not large either, so be prepared to take a couple of trips if you have tons of luggage. Personally, it added to the charm of the building. The one thing we will laugh at forever is that we did not realize the entire apartment had automated blackout blinds. The first night we could see from one window into another unit, and so we thought we might have to rig up something with newspaper and tape. I had brought a garbage bag from home and stuck it onto the window. The next day we came back, and I hit a couple of buttons on the bedroom wall to turn the light on, and suddenly, these amazing blinds engaged, and the room completely darkened. So, we immediately went to the living room and sure enough automated blinds there. We of course felt a tad foolish, but it all added to our “immersed” experience. The balcony which faced a large courtyard was the perfect place to eat breakfast and enjoy a nightly cocktail. Life in Barcelona happening right before our eyes. Seven wonderful nights and we would return in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for four nights in September. The apartment was spacious and located near Pl.Espanya, and opposite a metro station. The amenities were great, these included toilet rolls, hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel. There was also a pack for the kitchen which included towels, sponge and washing up liquid. The staff were very friendly, and there was a little corner where you could get tea bags, coffee etc! We had a wonderful stay, and can't fault this place. Thank you.

We booked for Barcelona with our 4 children for a week back in February 2020 for travel during the Easter holidays (April). Due to the pandemic and travel restriction we contacted the hotel for a refund, but they refused saying we could rebook for a later date up until 2021! Our airlines (a small Spanish one refunded us!) Due to further travel restrictions in the UK and the fact one of our children has a condition which can be critical if he gets COVId, (which I explained) I asked for a refund again last week stating we would not be comfortable travelling this year and without a vaccination possibly we would not even be allowed! No, no refund we will offer you a chance to rebook up until 2022? Seriously how long can we keep this for? Also if the price changes we have to pay the extra cost!! I am being asked to forcefully travel or forfeit over £2000! That is not going to make people want to ever book with you again Eric Vökel, if this is your idea of customer service, you have a lot to learn. While I understand everyone is going through a difficult time holding people’s money isn’t fair on families who may also be having a difficult time financially. Simply not acceptable receiving a standard formal reply to say we are doing what we can to accommodate you!

We just returned from a 6 days stay at Eric Vokel Apartments in Gran Via Barcelona. Overall it was a very good stay. The location is not really close to anything, but conveniently located to everything. You are not more than a 30-40 mins walk away from sights, stores, restaurants and the beach and there is a subway station close by. Our place had a small kitchen, with a dishwasher and washer and dryer (in one appliance, so for North American standards it was rather small) a bedroom with a window to the street and a smaller bedroom with no windows, but a sliding door that still makes it feel light and airy as well as a sitting room with a dining table and a sofa. Furniture is basic, but really good enough. The staff was great, they were helpful when it came to suggesting sights or shows to visit, helped us find a post office and the best route, even found superglue for my daughter's toy. We had breakfast included and were able to pick it up every morning between 9 and 11am. It was either cereal and bread rolls with jam/butter or ham or pastries and bread rolls. We also got ample milk, juice and coffee pods. We have only some small complaints: the window in the bathroom does not open and the AC does not reach there, so it can get stuffy and we noticed some mold at the ceiling. probably due to a lack of ventilation. We also had to bring down our own garbage and recycling to bins across the street somewhere, which is fine if you have stuff to put away during the stay, but when leaving with lots of luggage it seems a strange things to do considering that the room is being cleaned and turned over the same day. We noticed they have locations in other European cities and will definitely consider staying again.

This was an excellent place to stay for the most part! We came with small children and (perhaps out of fear of the windows) they gave us a room on the first floor with a beautiful outdoor patio. There was a small nook bed which was so perfect for our time during the day. The apartment was equipped with washer and dryer (all in one) and they offered washing pods for guests which made a big difference in our trip. It’s next to excellent restaurants and right in the red line of the Barcelona metro which was convenient. The host who greeted us was very kind and informative and helped us arrange a taxi for our 4:00 am flight as well. My only complaint is the noise of the neighbors on our last day. We were up most of the night and could hear EVERY noise they made…it was quite frustrating. Overall the good overshadowed the bad and it was a place I would recommend to travelers - particularly with young children.

We arrived unexpectedly late due to Issues re transport strike in France and we did not have wifi or mobile data so did not get email message that reception would be closed and that there was an entry code to main doors but happily some fellow guests let us in and we were able to use the automated check in system in lobby to retrieve apartment keys. If you are in same situation, suggest contacting the hotel in advance to get code if possible. We were here for 3 nights and luckily booked directly with the website as I made a mistake with the dates but the hotel switched these for us immediately with no fuss and no fee despite my reservation being non- refundable - truly appreciated! Lovely apartment and very quiet and comfortable. Walkable to Plaza Espanya and also The Ramblas but also very convenient to metro. We bought 10 trip metro passes 'casual' which can be used by multiple persons still until March but after then you will need to purchase a family ticket if needed for more than one person. Breakfast was a welcome freebie with bread, cereal, milk and juice. There are a couple of supermarkets and a good bakery within a few minutes walk away.

I stayed here for a short break with my family. We arrived after the reception area was closed but there is an automatic check in machine in the lobby.
Apartment was very nice, cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, dishwasher tabs and washing detergent provided in reception. Good air con.
Free WiFi, great in the main room, a bit weak in the back bedroom.
Small supermarkets close by and right by a metro station. Don’t bother with a 2 or 3 day travel pass, the T10 ticket is better value. 10 journeys for €10.20 and can be used by multiple people.
Love, love, loved the Sagrada Família. You must go inside, it’s amazingly beautiful.

We rented a 2-bedroom apartment for 5 nights. It was clean, had a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, and several grocery stores in the immediate area. The lower floor units are quite dark, and there is a fair amount of street noise, so keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper. The staff does not actively work to honor higher floor requests, despite emailing me several times prior to arrival. Once there, Carolina at the front desk was extremely helpful. Location is a solid 20-25 minute walk to the main part of town, longer to key locations - Gothic, Sagrada, etc.

It is quite a long way but taxis run past the hotel all the time. Buses are also frequent. An alternative is to get a city tour bus ticket as they visit the stadium and just use the hop on hop off facility for a day or two.
There are more places to choose from in the Barcelona area.
