The only accommodation that is worth staying at Rainbow Lake, as others do not set the bar as high. Great staff with food that is wonderful. They keep it to the basic and look after all the employees needs. They cook and clean. I think I can not ask for anything better. All under one roof and expanding also.

I've been up to Rainbow Lake for work on a couple of occasions (around a week each time). NorAlta is the best accommodation in town. The staff is super friendly and the food not pretty good (for such a remote location). Please note, all your meals (basically a buffet) and drinks (non-alcoholic) are included with your stay. One of the only downside is the slow WiFi - you'd be better off stick to your cellular connection.

Nice hotel with camp type advantages. I enjoyed the stay there great staff and always genuinely wanting to make sure things were good. Kitchen staff was great and food was always fresh and good. Only needed a bigger gym.

Was up there for work and had a great experience. Showed up late and they still greeted us with smiles and gave us a tour and chance to grab a snack before bed. Food was delicious and a nice variety. Rooms were spacious and well laid out. Staff was definitely the crown to this trip as they were so friendly the whole time weather it was late at night or stupid early in the morning.

It was absolutely awesome. Best food ever always something to eat. Ya the rooms were tiny but I was not there to stay in my room.
We made our lunch from the cafeteria and set for the day. Always came home to an awesome supper.
You oilfield folks are too spoiled. This was way better than 99% will ever get at home.
LOVED IT.

I've always had a deluxe room which are very roomy but don't have a fridge or microwave? Rooms are always clean, beds are uncomfortable.

The food is the biggest downfall, it just is not good. Everything tastes like it was cooked hours before even if you get there right at the start. They do at least have lots of selection for each meal. I've eaten lots of camp food and this is just the worst I've had. It's never so busy in there that they couldn't cook a steak or eggs the way you like it instead of grabbing from the huge tray of overcoooked old food. Also it's a buffet, why are there not trays to take your food to your table? I always have to make three trips to get everything back to my table, very strange.

The internet is completely useless, I never use it. Don't count on even being able to check your email.

I was more than skeptical when I was reserved a room here. It actually isn't awful, but it isn't good either.

The food is sub-standard for a kitchen. Steaks are always overcooked, and 90% everything they serve is pre-made and frozen. The one good thing there is ice cream.

The staff are nice beyond that, though have too much time on their hands and tend to disappear. It isn't to clean or do any other work.

No microwave or mini-fridge in the rooms. Sucks, but not awful. The rooms are small, and the bed isn't very comfortable. The hotel is right off the highway and easy to find. Their internet is the worst I've ever experienced. You can't stream a YouTube video, let alone anything on Netflix. Even Yelp took 2 minutes to load.

Overall, highly disappointing and not somewhere I would want to recommend beyond unlimited ice cream.

I will be venturing up to Rainbow Lake next month after a January assignment and NorAlta will be my choice of lodgings. Rooms were terrific, clean and plenty big enough. Food was well prepared and nothing short of tasty. Liked the opportunity to access the dining hall later in evening. The crown however is the awesome staff assembled to run the place. Outstanding. They were without exception positive and welcoming.
