This Moxy is alongside several other new hotels and there's not much else in the area but it has a great bar and offers food.
Don't think traditional Marriott because its not, its Moxy and thats fine for me!
We went out for dinner in Canary Wharf and on coming back to the moxy all the hotels along that road had big gangs of youths smoking cannabis outside which some people could find this intimidating especially if they were by themselves.
Our stay was a pleasant one and would recommend if the price was right.
The door to this room is hands-free so we can use the card or button to open and close the door brilliant for people with mobility issues . The room also looks incredibly clean and maintenance is kept excellent. Note the two large air conditioners which would be excellent in the summer months.
I also loved the little touches for example, the shower head is turned round so you don’t get splashed by cold water when you turn it on.
Slight negatives which annoyed me included the fact that one television I could not get to work no matter what I did and as both televisions are the same this confused me even more.
The temperature of the room was another issue. I am quite naturally warm however on this particular evening I was freezing cold and no matter what I did I could not get the room warm. my dad is an air-conditioning engineer so I’m pretty good at playing with things however I could not increase the temperature of the room to stay around 17.5° all night long. I was glad to jump in the car and get warm. I pressed every button every which way, but I could not get the room warm at all which will be great during the summer months but not April.
The lady on the front desk insisted I pay £10 holding charge on my credit card which will be refunded in five days time. I refuse to do this and after a slight debate she backed down. I never eat or drinking any hotels but she was very insistent, however I know many hotels fail to return this money. In the past I have also been charged for things I have not purchased so I try not to give them extra revenue for things I do not wish to have. She did mention breakages and damages however I thought this was when I got to my room and discovered the sofa was badly damaged in two areas (see photo) prior to my arrival.
The last thing that did annoy me a little bit was at 5 am my room stinks of breakfast and cooking. I ceiling circulation of air. Not good for me trying to lose weight.
All in all I do like this hotel, but if I do return, it would have to be to a different room. The venue is excellent visiting the Excel centre in London. There is also parking nearby shared with the Hilton hotel.
apart from some of the shelves being a bit dusty, the place, in general, is quite decent. I love the interior design of the rooms and the reception. the bed was comfy and big. location was nice as well since it was literally just a 3-minute walk from the closet DLR station and it took only 15 mins to get the central London.
I recommend this hotel for couples for a short stay in London. I would also recommend this hotel for those who prefer staying at hotels that are far away from noisy neighbourhoods.
Once inside you are met with a friendly smile and quick checkin plus a free Moxy cocktail Or have it later if you wish.
Rooms very clean and modern our room slept four one double bed plus one double sofa bed both large enough for large teenage boys.
Hotel had a funky youthful theme but no loud music to put seniors off using it .
we stayed one night had the breakfast which was value fo rmoney and filled two teenage boys no problem
Would reccomend this hotel tor anyone looking for a family room but the comfort of a hotel rather than a motel .
